Working on 201: Where the Magic Happens
In this post is my (actually rather clean) work desk. Yeah, boring I know, but it’s where I’ll be spending most of today slaving away on Issue 201 work. And I’m just a lowly freelancer!
I’m sure Darren and the rest of the Hyper bloggers will all have more interesting desks than I. Perhaps they will be festooned with all kinds of gaming related paraphernalia. Mayhap we’ll catch a glance of what Darren had for lunch – ooh excitement!
Ahem, anyway what am I working on for 201? Well, to tell would be spoiling, but I can guarantee a long-winded grump about the current state of gaming (Passion of the Gamer), as well as a fairly hefty roundup of some of the latest XBLA, PSN and iPhone games. In fact, my credit card has almost melted because I’ve been buying and testing so many downloadable games. I can has Hyper Gold Credit Account?
Okay, look, I’ll tell you the truth… I’m inherently lazy when it comes to assignments/deadlines, so I’ll probably only put an hour or two into actual writing work today. The rest of the time I’ll be nicking into town, grabbing a coffee, maybe hit the gym and check out some gaming shops. Then I’ll invariably turn my 360 on and play whatever I’m currently addicted to – in today’s case it’ll be Nier (awesome game, I love it despite its rather schizophrenic design). Then I’ll watch a couple of TV shows like Treme or Breaking Bad. Then when my other half comes home I’ll act like I worked all day and am really exhausted. Although, I’m starting to think that she’s onto my duplicitous behaviour. Perhaps the large pile of unwashed dishes and collection of badly hidden take-away coffee containers will be my downfall…
