This month sees a few changes in the magazine – nothing major or terrifying, but as far as I’m concerned, long overdue. This includes the addition of a regular short tech section.We’ve increased Phone Home and we’ve also brought back competitions!

Zebra Crossing!

I’ve been playing my copy of Zeno Clash for around three hours now. Heaven knows just how long I’ve waited for this moment – my Steam backlog and I share a relationship like that between a parent and many, many neglected children. Or both parents, as may be the case. Both parents in the same body. You know, just because it’s convenient like that, and also because it seems to make perfect sense to this particular child.

A child that, honestly, would re-gain my neglect were its mind not so damn weird. more »

Climbing the Mountain

So, yeah – I’ve made it clear that I feel it’s too easy to own too many games in today’s climate, especially if you have a moderately-decent PC and a Steam account. This is enhanced by what defines ‘moderately decent’ having longer legs now than it ever has before – your average desktop from two years ago could probably still play everything released today, and survive well into 2011. And this is before online shopping has cheapened console gaming.

Money is no longer the main resource of concern; rather, it’s time. more »
