Hayao Miyazaki, one of the true legends of anime wrote, produced and directed Kiki’s Delivery Service in 1989, but despite the film being nearly a quarter of a century old, it’s still as vibrant, lovely and heart-warming as ever. Telling the story of a young witch who spends a year living in town and must use her magical abilities to make a living, Kiki’s Delivery Service is at once a warm comedy, a bittersweet coming of age tale and a wonderful parable of growing up, relying on yourself and finding your own feet. Even if you’ve seen it before it’s definitely worth watching again.
