Name: Hori Comfortable Touch Pen
Console: DS Lite (and DS P)
Type: Stylus
Rating:5/5
Comments: Absolutely brilliant. Being longer and slightly thicker than the normal DSL Stylus makes it far easier to use. Stylus heavy games such as Ouendan and Zoo Keeper benefit most, but it's useful even with other games with light stylus use. It does have a little holster that clips onto the back of the DSL, but it falls of easily and is uncomfortable, so I leave the holster off. It's one of those accessories I always carry with me. Highly recommended.

Name: Hori Compact Pouch
Console: DS Lite
Type: Protection
Rating: 3/5
Comments: Provides reasonable protection for your DSL if it's thrown into a bag. However, will not protect a DS from harder knocks. Inside there's a few pockets for 2 DS games and 1 GBA game too. Not bad, but with my laptop bag there's a perfect DSL sized pocket, so I almost never use this.

Name: Hori Crystal Filter
Console: DS Lite
Type: Protection
Rating: 4/5
Comments: Very useful to protect the touch screen against scratches. Easy to apply and no discernible loss in sensitivity. If your touch screen gets a working out, I'd say it's necessary.

Name: Hori Cleaning Cloth
Console: DSL or anything really!
Type: Cleaning
Rating: 2/5
Comments: Does a very good job of removing those fingerprint marks that can make a dark coloured DSL look shabby. Pity you can get the same results from most other clothes. If you're a fanboy or want all the accessory, get it, otherwise there's cheaper ways to clean your handheld.

Name: Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector
Console: All DS models
Type: Other
Rating: 4/5
Comments: It takes a while for it to get running perfectly on your PC as each seems to need it's own trick (I need to turn my firewall off to connect, but once connected I can put it back on.) but very useful if you don't have wireless internet at home.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v322/quatters/DSCN3703.jpg
Name: Hori DS Card Case: Slim Tye
Console: All DS models
Type: Media Storage
Rating:4/5
Comments: Possibly the sexiest cartridge holder out there. Each holds two games. They're very easy to open and insert and remove games, also they close quite solidly too. Being slim they fit anywhere and are hardly noticeable. The only disadvantage, is being opaque, you need to open them to see what games are inside. Fortunately I only have two and use them to carry my four most played games of the moment.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v322/quatters/DSCN3699.jpg
Name: Generic Game Cases
Console: All DS models
Type: Media Storage
Rating: 3/5
Comments: Each holds two games and is translucent so you can easily identify which games you need. Unfortunately they can sometimes be a pain to open, and I have had them open by themselves within a bag which was quite annoying.

Hori Comfortable Touch Pen
It does have a little holster that clips onto the back of the DSL, but it falls of easily and is uncomfortable, so I leave the holster off.I bought that model to use with my DS Phat - good to hear I'm not missing much in respect to the holster.
Whilst it can be a little difficult justifying the price of a plastic stick, I can't help but echo Quatters' sentiments and mention that they're sturdy little buggers, too. Time after time after READY STEADY GO I've pelted it against the wall and it still keeps on ticking, even after the little black nib popped out the other week >_>

Nice reviews Quatters.
Wish I'd invested in some screen protectors. EBA and Ouendan 1&2 have given my touch screen a huge workout. circular scratches and I think sensetivity around the area has been reduced by 20%. Ah well another excuse to get another DSL. Hopefully we get the nice yellow one.
As for that Stylus Pen. I actually got myself one of those HORI Nintendogs Stylus Pen holder a ways back. Basically a thick pen that you insert a standard DS (chunky) stylus into. Which is great as I don't trust 3rd Party stylii and having official ones that you house in it is great.
Otherwise I'm not really into accessories for the DS but some of those are nice. Although I do want a nice game holder that can fit about 10 DS games on it. As nice as those ones HORI made, it only fits 4 :(.

How much did you get the DS for? I'm seriously considering importing one of these Navy ones because it was the colour I always wanted to get. And in Aus, it has the added benefit of being (almost) unique among your circles. Plus, my white hinge cracked :?:

Mine also has a hinge crack, but it's only cosmetic.
Mine was $230 from Play Asia.

I'm a big fan of the Logitech PlayGear Pocket case that I use with my PSP. I find you can still easily play with the PSP while it's in the case but it does add weight (but I've grown used to it). It can also take some big knocks which is definetely a plus!
http://www.marctv.de/media/medium_playgear_pocket_black.jpg
It even allows customisable skins:
http://pic17.picturetrail.com/VOL815/2823381/5677336/94274522.jpg
This isn't mine, but it gives you an idea of what can be achieved. I know this is an ancient concept but being relatively new to the PSP world, I thought it was cool.

Name: Hori Hard Pouch DS & PSP Slim
Console: DS Lite & PSP (both models)
Type: Protector Case
Rating:4/5
Comments: Very good protector cases, they're hard due to being made of a rather rigid foam, so they can still be squished a little but still provide good protection.
They both have space for games inside (PSP-2 DS-3) and another small pocket behind. Though the DS case doesn't hold the games too securely, I don't keep games in it, but the PSP one is fine for games to be stored in.
The DS case also has a stylus holder while the PSP case has two memory card pockets.
I actually wanted a black case for my PSP so it would match but they were out of stock so ordered the blue.
They're very good, bar one problem, there's quite a bit of space inside and the consoles move around a bit. I would have hoped they were a snugger fit.

Trin's "4gamers Player Kit" Review
complete with blurry mobile phone pictures!
For PSP (both models)
This kit comes with a bunch of different items, so I'll review them individually. Here's how 4gamers describe the product-
Screen protector, Applicator and Cloth - the screen protector preserves with your screen with no loss of clarity.
USB & Charger Splitter Cable - transfer data and recharge your PSP via a PC USB port.
4 x UMD cases - safe storage of up to four of your favourite movies.
3 x Spare Analogue Joystick Buttons - replacement analogue joystick buttons.
Black wrist strap - an alternative strap to complement the black exterior of the PSP console.
Name: Screen protector
Type: Protector
Rating: 4/5
Comments: Very nice and easy to put on, but requires a steady hand. It comes with a removable film on either side, one you take off prior to application and the other after, which means you can safely use your fingers to press it on without worrying about fingerprints/smudges, as they're gone with the 2nd film removal. The "applicator" they mention is just a thin film of plastic you're supposed to use so that you don't leave marks, but as I just mentioned the 2nd film removal does this for you so I don't see any point to it. The cleaning cloth is nice and smooth with no lint or particles to leave behind, works great.

The cleaning cloth
Name: USB data & charge cable
Type: Cable
Rating: 2/5
Comments: Now this is a cool idea, but with a flaw. Basically it's your standard USB A-type for the PC end, and on the PSP end it splits into two (like a pair of earphones)- a mini-USB B-type and the standard PSP charging plug. The idea behind this is that you could charge your PSP from a USB port on a PC. Neato! This might seem useless to PSP Slim owners as you now have the option of charging through the mini-USB connection, however this only works when the PSP is in USB mode and not asleep. With that in mind it's still pretty useful, as you can't play a game and be in USB mode, but with the regular power socket this isn't an issue. The lower voltage does mean that it takes longer to charge (5 hours 0%->100% according to my manual), so depending on what you're doing you might not actually gain any charge, but you won't lose any either (or as much).
The big problem I have with this cable is that it's only USB1.1, not 2.0, so expect very slow file transfers! A few years ago this may have been acceptable, but not now. Nothing on the packaging mentions it being USB1.1 either, which I thought was pretty lame. Apart from this the cable is great, with extra incentive for PSPhat owners.

The mutant, twin-headed cable
Name: UMD cases x4
Type: Game case
Rating: 5/5
Comments: I'm super impressed with these! :D They're hard plastic containers with a full opening at the bottom and a small hole at the top. The top face is transparent so you can see what game is inside, and the inside of the bottom face has 2 small nubs that stick into the UMD to hold it in place, exactly like the PSP itself does. Inserting a UMD is as simple as sliding it in from the bottom end, and to take it out you use the hole at the top to push it out a bit so you can grab it. The small nubs do leave some marks on the underside of the UMD from sliding them in and out, but they don't stick out enough to touch the actual disc so it's purely cosmetic. Personally I don't care about this, but some might. The cases can be pulled apart into 2 pieces if you need to wash it for some reason.
http://members.optusnet.com.au/trinityjayone/PSP4.jpg
Compare the sizes! Not much bigger than a UMD so still very portable

Removing a UMD
Name: Replacement analog nubs x3
Type: Replacement parts
Rating: 5/5
Comments: I haven't had a use for these seeing as my PSP is only days old, but they look and feel exactly like the nub on my Slim, only black (the manufacturer also makes a white version of this kit).
Name: Wrist strap
Type: PSP bling?
Rating: 3/5
Comments: A simple wrist strap. Does its job I guess, but the leather look and metal button don't really suit the PSP. Looks more suited to a handbag or something, and I'd much rather just attach a normal cloth one like Wiimotes have.
http://members.optusnet.com.au/trinityjayone/PSP6.jpg
Wrist strap
Overall it's not a bad package for $20, but the USB cable being USB1.1 is a major kick in the balls, as now I have to buy another cable that probably won't have the charging connector. :(

Name: A sock
Console: Depends on your shoe size, but a men's 7-11 should be able to hold a PSP Slim and DS Lite
Type: PSP case
Rating: 5/5
Comments: I remember a while back someone had a PSP case that was just a soft, padded pouch that their PSP would slide into. The only cases I could find were these big & bulky monstrosities that had room for UMD's and cables and god knows what else, when all I wanted was something simple I could fit in my pocket. Behold, the power of an odd sock! ;) (You heard me!! :P) Not only is it the perfect size for my Slim, it's practically free!

Type: Screen Protector
Rating: 4.5/5
Comments: Don't believe the description on the PA webpage. This is okay for both versions of the PSP. It really works. People sitting on either side of you can't see your screen. You have to view the PSP screen directly in front of it to get optimum view (90 degree view). And it protects your screen from scratches too. Does not come with cleaning cloth.

Type: Screen Protector
Rating: 5/5
Comments: An updated version of the Peep Guard filter. Apparently instead of having a 90 degree view angle in front of it, it's been decreased to 60. So more privacy for you! Also comes with a cleaning cloth (I don't know what to describe it) that you use prior to applying the screen protector. Planning to get it as a spare.

Type: Screen protector and some more.
Rating: 5/5
Comments: Why settle for the just protecting the DS lite screens, when you can protect the external of your DS and the area around the screens as well? Comes with cleaning cloth like the Nozomi Guard Filter. Recommended
I'm sure everyone here agrees that Hori makes the best screen protectors for your handheld consoles!

Has anyone seen PSP wrist straps on sale anywhere? Play Asia don't have any but I want something to tie on for some bizarre reason.
I might hit up the city/Haymarket next week when I'm free and see if I can find anything.

Yesasia has these up for pre-order, I haven't been able to spot them on Playasia as of yet, although they are more than likely to appear soon. These media holders for DS games will be perfect for people with a nice large library they want to haul around with them!

Comments: Quite good, not too large and very stylish. It also comes with a UMD shaped Memory Stick holder which can hold 2 Memory Sticks which you can keep in the case. However it can be fidly to get the UMDs out at first. Though after taking them in and out, it seems to loosen it a little, plus you develop an efficient technique.

Type: DS flash Cart
Rating:5/5
Comments: What better way to never need to carry extra carts around with you? For $65 ($87 with GBA exp) you too could be able to carry around all your DS and GBA games in one handy solution. Just dump the cartridge along with the save file onto the MicroSD card (Sold separately, $30~) and you're on your way! Best bit with the GBA thing is it also doesn't stick out the bottom, so you can always have it in. However this also means it's incompatible with DSPhat. It also comes with a rumble pack for games that support them, however I can never be bothered with it.
Not only that, but it also allows you to play homebrew (sup doom and quake) as well as watch video and listen to music.

Oh and it also clips onto your belt / whatever you want it to, advise not putting it on your belt as aside from looking a bit pants on head retarded It digs into the skin after a while and I can't imagine all the bouncing from walking would be to great for the PSP hiding in it's home.

Faceplate. It only provides minimal PSP protection, but scratch protection is mainly what it's for. It does bulk up the PSP a fair bit, but it looks good! Unfortunately with the lid up, it's a bit awkward to play.
Headphones. Standard headphones. Pretty good quality and comfy, cool MH stuff on it.
Bag thing. Interesting. It can fit a PSP and a bunch of stuff inside, but literally, it's a bag with two pockets. Very much a cosmetic thing rather than being super useful.

Basically for US$10 less it's exactly the same as the Sony component cables and its got the added advantage of an extra 1m length of cable (3.5 vs 2.5) so you can actually play this on the couch (if its within the area). Upon connection the PSP asks you whether or not you want the screen projected on the tv, then the PSP screen & speakers are automatically turned off during play. Image is nice and crisp (not crystal clear, but what you'd expect), ghosting issues aren't a worry anymore and yes your PSP will only use 50% of your screen. I tried using the zoom button on my tv but that only stretched it vertically (those darn zoom buttons never do anything right!)
I managed to get this during PA's sale for US$11.92, now its US$19.90.
5/5
Its much better than Sony's previous option for the original PSP (which looked like some kind of virtual reality headgear attachment)
PSP Hori Protection Filter Portable - US$7.99 (http://www.play-asia.com/SOap-23-83-3ylm-71-be-49-en-84-j-70-2anq.html)
This one's a bit deceiving, at first I thought it was a normal screen protector but it actually came with additional protectors for the DPad+nub+buttons layout (see photo below) to prevent further scratching. A nice idea, I haven't yet applied them myself but one would assume it'd be harder to hold (plastic on top of more plastic?). Still, an excellent price for a hidden extra

New Style PSP Slim Pouch (Monotone) - US$19.90 (http://www.play-asia.com/SOap-23-83-3ylm-71-bf-49-en-84-j-70-263b.html)
It's typically girly and the limited arrange of colour styles is annoying. The outer surface is in fact plastic making it look more like a toothbrush+toothpaste bag
If you're a guy, get the monotone colour. This is also about the only decent PSP slim case on the market too in terms of protection & additional pockets for UMDs/cables so you'll have to sarcrifice style for peace of mind. Starscream would complain that soft pouches don't protect from high falls though

PSP PlayStation Portable Battery Pack (2200mAh) (White) - US$54.90 (http://www.play-asia.com/SOap-23-83-3ylm-71-bg-49-en-84-j-70-2lim.html)
I bought this for my PSP Slim and was hoping they'd made some new revolutionary battery pack that was slim enough to fit in the same amount of space. This is not the product. In fact I'm pretty sure it's the same PSP battery pack from the Phat model and was shipped with a free cover. The power output is 2200mAh compared to the PSP Slim's 1200mAh. This is an increase of 80% more play which will come in handy when playing games that last for house like RPGs. The additional weight output however is a little annoying and since its bigger than the original battery, it sticks out the back a little. As a bonus though the new battery cover adds a bit more grip (depending how you hold it I always have one finger on each side supporting it) so it'll have less chance of slipping out of your hands (sometimes with sweaty palms I get worried that it could happen)
You can buy these PSP 2200 battery packs shipped with other battery covers too however limited to black, white & ice silver (http://www.play-asia.com/SOap-23-83-3ylm-49-en-15-%09PSP+PlayStation+Portable+Battery+Pack-84-p.html). Luckily though you can buy battery covers (designed for larger batteries) by itself for only US$0.99 (http://www.play-asia.com/SOap-23-83-3ylm-49-en-15-battery+cover-84-p.html) coming in colours silver, white, black, fire red, grape purple, sky blue, rose pink and sea blue
For a rating I'd give this product a 3.5/5
Whilst it does its job for longer play, it adds additional weight & size, kills some of the style and sits awkwardly. Some photos:

Name: Hori DS Card Case 6 (Blue)
Console: Nintendo DS
Type: Card Cases & Protection
Rating: 4/5
Comments:
This card case doubles as both protection and mass storage of 6 cartridges for my DS games. I've only got about 12 DS games, so 6 (as well as one in the DS slot) make for the perfect number of games to carry around (Especially seeing as 4 of those games are in the Phoenix Wright series).
It's pretty solid, although the inner game holder hinges are plastic and would break under pressure. It's also a bit fat (about 2 - 3 inches deep), but fits nicely into the back of my pokemon carry case, zipped up (Still looking for stickers to 'redecorate' the case with though, batman perhaps?).
This was absolutely essential for me as the cards are well protected (Takes a bit of practice to get them out) and I don't have to keep switching between massive game cases when I want to switch games.
The price of $6.50 is also unbeatable really, worth purchasing with your next Play-asia order. Hopefully they'll have black in for you!
A card case 16 will be coming out soon, but that was a little too big for me.

Doesn't work since it won't stretch horizontally. I should know because I've got the same tv (except its a bit bigger)

Don't want to stuff it up!
1. Don't spit on it
2. If you lay it down and get air bubbles, use a piece of sticky tape to lift it back up again and use another piece to remove any underside marks until its all crystal clear. Also make sure its not too close to any of the edges of the screen when applying

EDIT: Sorry, thought you wanted a game case. As far as PSP cases go, the $70 Logitech one (is it still $70) that can hold three games is really good. I'll take pics of mine if you want them.

I was actually very surprised by this thing. I have a GBA SP already, but the fact that play-asia were having a half price sale and they just look so damn awesome made it too hard to resist. The screen size is surprisingly not a problem at all, since because of how clear it is, you don't need to hunch over and hold it up to your face to read text or anything. I tried reading a few minutes of dialogue in Golden Sun at arms length and it was fine.
The d-pad feels like a great middle ground between the SP and DS's clicky buttons and the DS lite's mush, giving soft yet tactile feedback. This makes pushing in diagonals fine, while trying to play metroid prime hunters on the DS was a bit of a pain at times.
The battery at 13 hours with the screen on the lowest brightness might sound like i'd be trying to say the battery lasts longer than it would on a setting you would actually play at, but the lowest brightness is actually quite bright, with the higher settings only really being used if you happen to be playing with the screen in full sunlight. The screen is also quite a lot sharper in contrast than the SP, and makes games feel a lot fresher and vibrant.

Can anyone recommend a good case/ carry thingo / pouch suitable for a DSi?
I'd prefer one with velro over zips, seeing as zips eventually break.
I wouldn't mind one with Link or some other theme, but they don't have them around my local stores.
Any good ones online? What do people have?
This one looks cool,

In harvey norman today I noticed they had metal cases for the DSi (official nintendo stuff I think) - an equivalent to the pouch.
Has anybody seen/used one of these? Unless they have some sort of lining I guess they could end up scratching the shell of your DS.
EDIT: just googled some images, and I have no idea if the metal cases I was looking at are actually carry cases, or snap on armor for the DS itself as some sites have all kinds of trinkets.
I'm only interested in carry cases, so please add any further links etc / comments.
Thanks for the links above people.
