Hello,

The idea of this thread is that people post any games they are looking to buy, and what price they are willing to pay for the game. Then, if other members see that game on sale for the given price (or less), they can alert the original poster and/or buy the game and mail it to them. This would be useful for all the posters who do not have good access to games stores or credit cards. Of course, it will also facilitate members selling each other games they already own.

This thread is, in a sense, similar to having many 'wanted' threads in the hyperactive auction hut, except that this can be much more self contained. It's often not worth the effort and clutter to make a new thread in the HAH for every game which you're interested in buying, but a simple post in this thread may be much easier. In particular, rare items can be included in this list for a long period of time, whereas posting a 'wanted' thread in the HAH for an obscure title will usually result in your thread leaving the front page after a week or so. Feel free to include gaming peripherals etc requests as well.

I use the Play asia direct debit system. Good if you don't have a credit card. I use the expensive shipping though as once my game never arrived. They gave me credit but it took so long ( like a month ) to sort out. Now I use the fast shipping. Its awesome cause you can track and I deposited into the bank on a friday arvo and the games arrived on the following monday. How good is this. I was happy. I got my rocks off.

I thought of this when I posted the thread. Ideally people would be honest (similar to the HAH), and sending the member a PM to confirm they want something before you buy it would also help.
Of course it's far from fool proof; it relies on the honesty of Hyperactive members. Judging by the HAH, though, it could work well if people are interested.

I'd be very interested in it, as there are many sales around that contain games that are just plain out of stock round my local area. Furthermore, I'd be happy to even give tips if it was a game I REALLY wanted :D Then again, that falls into the area of buying and selling for profit, but you know, you could just surprise them with a tip I guess :D

So gamefaqs lists Ninja vs Samurai (ie Kengo 3) as having been released in Australia last year (04/09/07 - whether thats September 4, or April 9 I dunno). However the only PAL release info I can find states a UK release early this year.

Okay, I've updated the original post with the wanted games and who wants them. If anybody has any suggestions for the formatting, I'm all ears.

I've realised that it would be advantageous if all members posted when they were planning to buy a game for someone else, as this would limit unnecessary 'Do you still want this game?" PM's. I'd also like to reiterate that buying a game for someone inevitably puts you at risk of losing money; only do so if you are confident that they still want the game and/or you can get a refund if necessary.

Edit: Also, when posting a request for a game, be sure to specify the platform for the desired game, and from now on I'm going to assume that the price you list excludes postage, as I couldn't be bothered specifying for each game whether postage is included. I'm still not sure how listing a game without listing a price you're willing to pay can be helpful? If you don't list a price, then anyone who sees that you want a game doesn't know whether they should bother contacting you, because they'll have no idea what you'd be willing to pay. For example, if I listed Super Mario Galaxy and just said 'I'd like it cheap', then 3 people might go to the shops and see it for $50 and think 'yeah that's cheap' and contact me. However, I'm only willing to pay $40, so those 3 people have wasted their time. On the other hand, someone might see it for $30 but not think that that is cheap, so they wouldn't contact me, and I'd miss out on buying it quite cheap. If I specify '$40' then these problems are solved.

As for the issue of stating a price and someone wanting slightly more than your stated price - I can see two sides to this argument. On the one hand, if everyone only states the absolute maximum price they're willing to pay, then there would be no confusion as to whether someone would buy a game at a given price. On the other hand, if you state your 'maximum' price, then people will tend to sell for that price, when you'd prefer to pay lower than that amount. I'll take your suggestion of specifying that the prices are to be used as a guide only.

Looking for Tales of Symphonia (GC) PAL of course. Been keeping tabs on Ebay but price on there is horrible ($90+). Just finished the second one (on Wii) and been after this for a long time. If anyone is willing to part with their copies, i honestly don't really care about the condition as long as the game is in reasonable working order.
