Looks like Rhythm Tengoku Gold will be released to the west as Rhythm Heaven. If you like rhythm games then you will love this. Rhythm Tengoku on the GBA is one of my favourite games of all time.

Looks awesome!

Not familiar with the concept, but it looks like a rhythm based version of WarioWare. Am I close?

Yeah the same team behind the first Warioware game on the GBA also made the GBA Rhythm Tengoku.

So buying Rhtyhm Tengoku Gold was foolish?

Or will the Western release lose some of the Japanese madness of the original hence I'll end up having the superior version?

I'd say both versions will be identical with menus in english for west though. I'm getting the Japan version because its out in 2 weeks and I just simply have to play it asap. Nintendo should release the original on Wiiware as part of the Hanabi thing.

That is true. I love Ouendan with a burning hot passion, but only feel warm affection for EBA.

...and Ouendan and EBA are completely different games. These two should be identical, I do say!

In addition to getting it early you can't overlook just how much fun it is trying to figure out what a game is asking you to do. Heaps, by the way! :D

EDIT!
Ooh! I just found this in the Japanese DS games thread;
Daigasso, Ouendan and Rhythm Tengoku have been very memorable gaming experiences for me and I get them out for replays all the time.

Especially Rhythm Tengoku... my love of this game will never fade. I listen to the songs while in my car. I also made this because I'm crazy in love...

Speaking of Rhythm Tengoku... I'm very close. 13 perfects to go. I'm getting one per sitting so in another 4 - 6 months I should have it in the bag. DS Rhythm Tengoku... would be heaven.
It's like Conky can see into the future! :O

As picky as it sounds I'm more into a music creation game along the lines of Electroplankton.

Not really a game but still quite nice. Korg DS. (http://www.aqi.co.jp/product/ds10/en/index.html)

Why aren't you in the Daigasso thread?

As bizarre as it sounds, I'm not actually that into games. Nice link though. I will certainly check that out.

I got my copy today. Played through the first set and remix. Got two golds so far which unlocked the most pointless game/toy/thing you could ever imagine. Pure genius. The use of touch screen is brilliant.

There aren't any stickers.

Here is a menu translation (http://www.ntsc-uk.com/feature.php?featuretype=tra&fea=RhythmTengokuGold)with a possible spoiler *Guitar lessons*

I don't know how to play the egg game yet.

It's on the 4th set the 1st game. HOW THE **** DO YOU THROW THE GREEN EGGS INTO YOUR MOUTH!

I've decided due to upcoming expenses and big credit card bills that my Play-Asia order won't consist of this game, I'll wait for the English version.

I now have to avoid all spoilers at any cost >_>

The Green eggs are on the second, third and fourth beats.

White is 1,2
Green is 1,2,3,4
Red is 1, 2 and

I can't do the ghost guitar level. I'm certain I'm doing it right... get 90% of the hits but it keeps failing me. Must be something I'm completely missing.

We should post our cowbell roadtrip highscores. That is an evil minigame. I did some calculations. It takes about 2.8 minutes to do 1000 metres. The game can technically go up 7 digits which is 9,999,999 metres or ten thousand. It would take 20 days to achieve that goal. Now I know... no one in their right mind would attempt that.... but gamers aren't.

It took me a while too, but ultimately you just need to be quick with your fingers. Wait until you get to those ****ing two faced dancers. God damn that was a hard game! It took me the most tries to finish (and I'm talking a lot of tries. >_>) when it usually takes two assuming I don't get it on the first go.

Overall, I think my least favourite games are the guitar ghosts and the singing statues. My favourites are a toss up between the love potion stage and the turnip farmer. ^^

Picked this up while I was in Japan.

Got stuck into it over the last few days, and now I have Gold for all levels (all medals) and 10 perfects. I think the hardest one to get a gold on was Moai Song 2.

Quite an addictive game. Certainly one of my favourite games on DS.

My brother who is 25 deleted my save file.

His excuse was he couldn't read Japanese. He's played games his whole life too, so he has no excuse.

Wow, I just sort of assumed the game was either praising me for being awesome or insulting me for sucking really bad. I never knew there was an in-between. I mean, the looks you get from those clapping monkeys whenever you miss a beat are horrible!
