downloadable via XBL, classic maps (wake island!) revamped with bad company engine (destructable!).
battlefield has a pretty decent 360 track record so far... bad company was awesome... what's not to love?!

(I can see how it would be a little underwhelming on PC since there are already a few excellent battlefield games and people are less amenable to small chunks of DLC).

Not really. It was a classic when you had 48-64 players fighting over it. With 12 a side, it's going to feel so damn empty.

You know probably not but for less than 20 bucks I would not have an issue with that. I have racked up over 12 hours with this game and that is many more than most full priced games I have owned.

I knocked up about 600 hours on BF2, so a stripped out version that most people will become bored with within a couple months just doesn't seem all that great.

I'm in love with this game, definitely the best arcade title around and well worthy of 1,200MS. I think I got around 1,200 kills in the first week of play.....yeah, depressing I know.

I've played a bit with Pickle (yes, Pickle) and HiredMan. I get much enjoyment from raping them with my tank.

It probably won't have that kind of replay value, no (the most I've ever put into a game is maybe 140 hours on Pokemon Red >_>) , but I've already had about 20 hours and I'm nowhere near tired of it, so I'll get my money's worth. I do think it's a game aimed primarily at console-only gamers, mind, so PC gamers probably won't get as much out of it.

Nope, no medics because of the health regeneration. The only things you can heal are vehicles. No weapon options either.



I just played some more matches with HiredMan and Pickle. Somehow I managed to beat my best score in the last game, 934 points with 31 kills.....it involved a whole lot of tank. I think I averaged around 700 points tonight. Cian likes the tank.

The map selection is random but you can always make a squad of four friends to play with. If you have enough people you can set up a private game and you can select your map from there I think.

Standard game mode (conquest) has three maps (Guadalcanal, Iwo-Jima and Wake Island) that rotate randomly after 2 rounds on each.

You can also pick the Air Superiority mode where you fly fighters on a map called Coral Sea.

I found out what my problem was... Pushing up makes the plane go up, I thought the flight controls would be inverse... I was pushing the stick down to take off and crashing straight into the floor :D I have now edited the flight axis.

Mine were set to inverted Y axis as standard. There are options you can adjust in your Xbox profile that will automatically set stuff like that to your preferences for any game you play.

Occasionally you'll find dickheads who do that. But in most cases there's a decent bunch of people playing it.

The teams that have squads hanging around the boat get absolutely smashed anyway. I don't mind it at all as long as it's not my team doing it :)

Also, I don't think I've seen any bugs, apart from the very occasional weird vanishing point black stuff appearing, and the time I somehow ran myself over with my own tank.

I own nearly over 75 ps3 games including Uncharted 2 yet I cant stop playing this awesome game at 1200 M$ points or $19.95 on psn this game is an absolute bargain. Now if DICE would only release some DLC maps, it would be even better
