I've had http://www.gog.com bookmarked for AGES, but it's only since last week that I've made an effort to have a good look at the site. Slowly picking up some absolute gems and other games I didn't get a chance to play 'back in the day'. Anyone else digging around on the site and found anything that's taken you back to your childhood/ earlier years of gaming, or anything that you've only just discovered?
So far I've nabbed - Messiah, Abe's Exodus, Kingpin and Capitalism 2.

A fine site, indeed. I nabbed Broken Sword 2 the other day.
Also if you're going to buy anything you should click on my link, because Pixel Hunt makes slight profit from referrals :D (http://www.gog.com/en/frontpage/pp/92cfceb39d57d914ed8b14d0e37643de0797ae56)

Don't forget it has Beneath a Steel Sky for free, as it should be.

Just scored MDK. Only ever played the demo many moons ago, so having the full game is brilliant. I'd like to see some more really rare games on there..........'I have no mouth and I must scream' would be a dream download for me.

Some games on there aren't that old either like Spellforce and Arx Fatalis. Both for less than 10us each.
If you want more than just one Fallout its probably cheaper to get it at bigw. they have the collection for $25.

Oh **** yes, that would most definitely be awesome.
And if I ever have the option available to me to actually be able to download games, or any kind of large file, the Jagged Alliance games would probably be the first thing I'd get off this site.

That is a damn fine site, both in services and design. There's another free point'n'click on there as well by the same studio.

I'll have to give Jagged Alliance a download. Best version? 1 or 2?

Definitely 2, 1 is still pretty good, but the controls have dated quite a bit and are kinda hard to use imo.

I <3 GOG - so far I've picked up Fallout 2, Giants: Citizen Kabuto and Sacrifice, I'm really hoping they get the Wizardry series at some point in the future.
Don't forget they also have a wishlist - sign up and vote for any games you want to see on the site!

I'd hit the Sea Reapers so hard whoever pulled me out would be declared the King of England.

i didn't even know anyone else who had played the game until now!
it came free with my graphics card (geforce 2!) and i just assumed it was some idiosyncratic gift from the heavens.

One to avoid: Jack Orlando - Director's Cut.
I found it to be very, VERY budget, from the gameplay to the crappy voice acting and presentation. It may've only been $5.99, but it feels like a rip-off.
(just my opinion of course)

Awesome! GOG just picked up Ubisoft's back-catalogue
The big news is finally here! Beyond Good and Evil®, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six®, Far Cry® and more are among Ubisoft's titles coming to Good Old Games.
We're proud to announce that Ubisoft®, one of the world’s largest video game publishers, and GOG.com have signed an agreement to deliver Ubisoft's best back-catalogue games via our beloved service. With the agreement, we're releasing Beyond Good and Evil®, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time™ and IL-2 Sturmovik™: 1946 for $9.99 each. Other classic Ubisoft titles like Heroes of Might and Magic®, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon®, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six® and Far Cry® will be added in the coming weeks.

GOG's top five on the user-voted wishlist:
1. System Shock 2
2. Planescape Torment
3. System Shock
4. Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn
5. Secret of Monkey Island
My first vote went to 'I have no mouth and I must scream' which is waaaaaaaaaaay down the list (220 votes to System Shock 2's 4902).
Going over the wishlist, there's a lot of games that I've forgotten over the years that I'd fall over myself to DL (Jack the Ripper, Dark Forces, Tex Murphy series games etc.), and some complete crap I HOPE they don't put up (Playboy: The Mansion ffs?).
It'll be interesting to see how many of these make it onto the site.

And rightly so.

3. System Shock
4. Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn
5. Secret of Monkey Island
This is pretty much just a list of my top 5 favourite games.

Except for 1 and 4 it's a list of the games I've wanted to play the most in my life. :(

Blasphemer!!!!!!
Haven't played the Baldur's Gate games, but I'd be tempted. As for the others, I've already got them, so :P

Looks like EA is getting in on the action (http://www.gog.com/en/news/gog_com_s_catalog_gets_huge_with_addition_of_class ic_ea_titles?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_content=publisher_subject&utm_campaign=ElectronicArts)
Hopefully SimCity will be on there.
