Wolfenstein 3D Platinum is currently half price for $1.19. Bought it, this game is excellent! Controls are easy to get used to & it contains the original music & sound effects. Could be a lot louder though but I'd blame that on the 4.0 firmware :(

Picked up ESPGaluda II today because I now have an iPhone that can run it.

It's... quite amazing, really. I would never have expected it to be as playable as it is. It's pretty much a direct port of the arcade game with modified controls for the touchscreen, but the controls actually work. You wouldn't think the iPhone screen would lend itself to bullet hell shooters, but ESPGaluda II proves otherwise.

They've got a Sim City Deluxe demo out now which I've tested out, I think the controls still just as bad as before (though it was always going to be annoying placing roads without editing them) but with a new visual makeover & the music is shit. Sure you can add your own playlist but I don't think anyone owns any Sim City type music

I had that problem too on my 8GB 2G, eventually after deleting more & more I managed to install it. Wasn't too much over 1gb, you just gotta keep deleting more stuff, maybe an extra 200mb

Now that I've got a 32GB model, space is no longer an issue for me :D

So it's a stripped down version of Super Quick Hook. 1st level is avalance node, 2nd is normal SQH but with a gun and level 3 is a new gravity mode.

You download the Capcom Arcade app for free, and you get to play any of the included games up to three times per day for free. That is, 3 free credits per day. On top of this, you can buy 10 credits for $1.20 if you wish to play more on that particular day.

If you just want to own a certain game and play without restrictions, you can buy it outright for $2.49.

It looks like you can buy power-ups and 'cheats' too.

AFL: Gold Edition has just been released. It has a $9.49 launch price, but looks pretty solid.

It seems to be based on the Wii version of AFL 2011, and has the 10 year career mode, etc. The next update will have online multiplayer too. I've no idea how it plays, but the reviews are fairly positive so far.

EDIT: FS80, if you've never played Plants v Zombies before, pick that up straight away. It works perfectly on the iPhone format.

Is anyone else playing GTA3 for iPhone?

I’m playing it on my iPad 2 and it’s a quite stunning port, I assume it’s been ported from the PC version rather than the xbox or PS2 game and then polished up a bit. It’s easily the best looking incarnation of the game I’ve seen and it runs incredibly smoothly.

The driving controls are great, I’m using the steering buttons rather than tilt controls and it feels perfect.

The shooting controls are though... pretty awful. There’s auto-aim which is pretty serviceably with a decent distance between you and an enemy but in a crowded situation it’s impossible. It changes the gameplay significantly, it means you’ll always be running for space, backing off, running away and taking a few pot shots before repeating. It’s lame but not game breaking.

That said I’m up to a sniper mission where I need to protect 8 Ball as he storms a ship and it is terrible. The joystick during sniping is terribly sluggish and imprecise, combined with the crappy friendly AI and this mission is appalling.

Given the limitations of the controls I’m not sure how it’ll fare in the tougher mission later on but as a technical achievement it’s really impressive. Technically at least this is the definitive edition of Grand Theft Auto 3. I hope to stick with it until the end, I haven’t completed it before and at least at the moment I’m having fun.

Ghost trick: Phantom Dectective is now available on the app store. First two chapters are free and you can pay $10 US (probably a little more on our store) to get the rest.

I never played it on DS, but from what I hear its worth checking out.

Played a $1 puzzle game called The Lost City and enjoyed it. The company who made it have an earlier, more demo-like game called grisly mansion, which is free. Which is good because it's fairly lame. The Lost City has some cleverness though, worth a dollar.

Ryan Payton who formerly worked on the MGS series has launched a kickstarter to develop a stealth game for IOS through his new studio Camoflaj. Their aiming for AAA production values.
