In a surprise announcement from the latest edition of Famitsu (http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=274783) magazine Capcom have revealed an Ace Attorney spin-off dubbed Perfect Prosecutor.
Again a DS exclusive, Perfect Prosecutor features a new law adventure game where you act on behalf of the prosecution rather than the defence.
You will as usual play as Miles Edgeworth from the original Ace Attorney series as you investigate crime scenes looking for inconsistencies and overlooked evidence, using a brand new search and deduction system.
The game will also feature Detective Dick Gumshoe as a main character.
That's all the currently available info, but it sounds pretty awesome to me!

Very exciting! Apollo Justice was probably the best in the series so far (I'd still list Ace Attorney as the best, but that might be a nostalgia thing), so I'm pretty optomistic that this will be awesome.
The point-and-click parts seem great, exactly what I expected to be the next step in the series. Though I thought it would turn up on Wii..
Nic Xtreme

I still think they won't change the core Ace Attorney games' gameplay style - I think they'll keep them as they always have been.
ZOMG CAN'T WAIT I WANT A RELEASE DATE!!!!!!!111!!11!

Let's hope this ties up the loose strings surrounding Edgey & Gumshoe's stories, and links in with Apollo Justice...
This game BOGGLES THE MIND.
Pretty hooked on Phoenix Wright at the moment, will be picking this one up for sure =]
Hard to tell really, but it looks a fair bit better than the GBA games.
ARRRRRGGHHH!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!
All my life my favorite games barely have had sequels. Lylat wars, no real sequels Perfect dark no real sequels (I refuse to awknowledge the existence of that xbox piece of shit), golden sun, no third sequel. Phoenix Wright... 5 SEQUELS AND COUNTING! It's on baby, it's on.

I don't. Then I'd have to buy a Wii again :p Continuous DS sequels ftw! Or maybe PSP so they can whack in some anime FMVs and high-res graphics, it'd be interesting
As I said on Evolution, it reminds me of Broken Sword. It's nice to see a totally new overhaul as the series was starting to feel a bit stale despite the excellent characters & story
Nic Xtreme
13-04-2008, 08:15 AM
I have reached "maximum tolerance and purity" in that all I care about is the excellent characters and story! As such, I would keep playing the games in their current form, and long as the stories and characters were written as well as they are at the moment!

Besides importing Japan will indirectly help the Australian economy anyway, it will allow the Japanese to buy more Australian exports (like beef) in return! YAY!
Trailer looks awesome, whilst there's no court this time (would have been interesting to play the court on the other side) .. this looks like a nice change to the gameplay, to make it something a lot more different than what we're used to :)

No idea, it's probably a lost cause at this point. My guess is that the Aussie distributor didn't think it would sell, since Apollo Justice was already released a few months prior by the time T&T was finally released in Europe.

That's rather annoying and disappointing for the people who haven't had a chance to play it considering T&T had probably one of the best storylines/cases in the series.

You really want to play them in order, as there is a story line and character development, and you will totally get more out of it. Apollo Justice should also be saved until after finishing Phoenix Wright.
I also think the first one is the best anyway, from memory.

Miles probably isn't as entertaining as Phoenix but it has a lot of the same styled humour that was in the original phoenix games. Nothing like the underwear jokes they threw into Apollo Justice. Midway through case 2 and loving this. I gotta go back and replay the previous games.

I'm part way into Chapter 3 - I was a bit concerned over how samey it is to begin with but the humour is starting to ramp up now and making me forget my concerns. The writers and translators always do an excellent job. I am, however, finding it a bit easier than usual - I haven't been stumped, or even really had to think about anything for longer than a few seconds, yet. The game has a nasty habit of heavily implying which piece of 'testimony' you need to present evidence on, which takes out a bit of the fun.

Up to the 2nd episode of the 2nd chapter (1st episode was pretty short, like they normally are). Its enjoyable - better than Apollo Justice and its more rewarding being able to walk around the environment & find stuff. I like it how there's moving animations now, whether it be the clouds flying past through the windows of the plane or someone waving their finger - gives it the illusion that its more interactive instead of static images

up to third episode of chapter 3 and found a rather nice easter egg. when you return to the Wild west area head right and you can enter the main gate area. If you keep heading right so that you're standing on the bridge, you can see Phoenix, Maya and Pearl in a rowboat in the background.

Lot of quietness for this game, makes me think that nobody's really bothered about it anymore. I'm on the 3rd episode now and I'm gradually losing my attention, the storyline just isn't as good anymore (the new characters aren't that interesting) and I think I actually enjoyed the courtroom system more than the 'open' world.

I'm up to the 4th case at the moment, it's pretty good. You're right in that there aren't any real strong/consistent characters like there were in the PW series, just a bunch of cameos. The writing is good, but the overarching narrative boils down to 'Miles Edgeworth kicks ass', and not much else.
4th case has a bit of courtroom drama btw

My favourite quote so far is Lang's whole thing in Episode 5 when :
He gives a birthday gift to one of his officers, because it is the officer's young brother's wife's younger brother's birthday. Awesome.
Definitely a step up from Apollo (not that I didn't like Apollo), in fact it's probably the best in the series apart from the first for me. As usual the last case stomps on all the previous ones. I really liked all the fan service, particularly the references to a certain cactus... heh :D
