Third day of placement for the education part of my degree. Actually glad I got placed with a PE teacher instead of a standard class, even if I am doing a BA/BT. Teams were uneven for a year 6-7 class, so I was sucked into a game of basketball and 'storm the fort'. Being taller then most of them was an advantage, but I'm shocked I was faster. Still, I need to exercise more; I nearly had a bloody heart attack. Actually, I just need to exercise. Having Hungry Jacks for breakfast was also a poor decision. :rolleyes:

The 3-5s were difficult today, but the R-1s were as cute as ever. Since I help out at two schools, despite being placed at one (my teacher covers both), I get to see quite a difference in the general attitudes of the students. One lot are quite lacking in discipline, motivation and respect, while the other lot are quite happy and generally respectful.

I can see why Adel Uni gets 1st year education students to do a Primary School placement; it certainly is quite an introduction to the teaching environment. The teaching side of primary school is quite different from what you see on the student side.

I never knew lavender oil was this completly incredible stuff for burns and skin complaints. I burned hell out of my finger the other day and housemate proscribed lavender oil. So anyway, on Sunday night last week I met a girl. I said she was cute to someone, and she said I was cute to that same person (highschool shit, fml). Anyway so I ended up giving her my number.

She didn't text me or call for 4 days. Finally, on my birthday, I got her number and texted her. Was all sweet, she's funny smart etc.

Anyways then we left, hung outside, sorta kissed again and then we talked bout when we could meet up next..turns out shes going to brisbane for a week (her dads an air force pilot, shes in the air force as well but doing a paid civilian degree and shes going up to work for a week). Her ride came and she went home, texted me a few times before she obviously fell asleep

So sunday rolls around. Nothin. I text her at like midday, no reply. I go home from work, sleep for a few hours, text her at 7:30, no reply. Call her at 8, phone rings through.

I say just relax a little dude. If, say, she HAD forgot her phone at home on sunday when she went out and got home to find you had messaged her a few times and tried to call, texted her friends etc. after you hung out for the first time, she might think you are too full on. Worse if she was with her phone and didn't want to reply for her own reasons. Girls, in my experience, like persistence and confidence, but not desperation. No harm in leaving it till the end of the week and call her and ask her out again. A text the next day saying you had a good time and you should do it again is enough, without expecting a reply.

I've had the whole last minute 'lets meet up for a drink after I just ditched you' date, and it usually means, to me, that they aren't that into you and maybe didnt have anything else on. I'm not speculating about your particular situation. But it has been my experience that if it seems like it is hard work to get this girl to see you, then she may not be that interested.

You can turn it around by being a chilled out guy who isn't going to 'bust her balls' so to speak, turn into a guy she wants to spend time with and take it from there. But it might take time, being patient and will be a bit of a head****.

Pretty chuffed with myself as I'm fairly sure I just learned the first few bars of The Rain Song by Led Zepp on piano by ear. Took a bit of trial and error but it's my first real go at learning a song by ear, and am pretty happy with the result. I did cheat and look up the key signature as a start point though, and I knew that the first few bars were chord -> arpeggio -> chord -> arpeggio, which made the arpeggio's easy to figure out once I had the chords.
