TOTALLY RIGGED Masterchef final.
Julie has ****ed up so many times.
Julie kept getting help from the judges mid-cookoff "Hey that sorbet is shit make another." "OK!"
George wanted to bone Julie.
So did Gary.
She kept crying. +1!
She kept whining about how she's sacrificed everything etc. etc. etc. +1!
Cookbook was totally sellable. +1000000!
I mean, got nothing against Julie - I'd eat at her restaurant, I'd buy her book (at least I'd be able to find her ingredients in a regular supermarket) - but Justine <3 or Chris or Poh totally deserved it over her.
Can't wait for next season, totally loved the show!

Huge bugs with razor-sharp mandibles. Their name (kamikiri mushi) means 'paper cutting bug' because they can cleanly slice through sheets of paper like a pair of scissors.

It gets worse. The workers have gone home for the day because they found a blockage. This means all the plumbing in the house drains into the yard, the only exception being the toilet attached to the shed which is in the process of being knocked down. I just had to drop a log in a toilet with two tarps for walls, while my neighbours dog barked at me through the hole in the fence.

Last time I had a blood nose was flying into Sydney from Tokyo. I had a cold and the pressure in my ear wouldn't equalise on the way down, so I covered up my nose and blew to 'pop' my ears. When I removed my fingers a stream of blood poured out. All of the flight attendants were strapped into their seats, and the only thing close that I could use to stop it going everywhere was a pillowcase. It was almost entirely red when we landed. 'Twas a lot of blood.
In fact, that's the only time I can recall ever having a blood nose. Strange.

And I only like you when you don't know I'm there.
Your only recourse now is to arrange someone (me) to drive a car full speed at her (her), and at the last minute someone (you) saves her life, thereby earning you a position back in the relationship zone.
Unless she finds out you organised the guy (me) to drive the car, then you'll be even more screwed then before.
I suggest you change your name to Budwig Lane before we start this plan.

Aran you've got it all wrong.
When the car comes along, and Frozen throws the girl out of the way, the car needs to hit Frozen pretty hard, permanantly disabling him. When the girl dotes on him in hospital, overcome with a sense of responsibility, Frozen breaks down and tearfully admits that he has always loved her. Racked with guilt, the girl enters into a sham relationship with him that she must sustain for at least two years. Perfect plan!

Work has gotten very political lately. Basically, my boss called me in to her office for communication issues. I was called in and accused of being arrogant, socially oblivious, and (worst of all) a poor therapist. She said at least 4-5 staff had complained personally about me and I was at risk of being ostracised, which is unacceptable and means I'd be fired. I thought I was doing really well, so I was basically stunned in to silence and ended up painfully reflecting on a lot of things for a day or two.
After that time I had realised that - while what my boss said was confronting - I was willing to learn whatever social rules I was missing in order to keep my job, which I love. I was sort of calm but still suspicious of what therapists had raised issues with me.
The real turning point came the following day when another therapist was saying, on an unrelated issue, that a completely untrue rumour had been raised about her that she had to formally address with our boss. She started talking about a "clique"... I took a deep breath and told her, and another girl in the room, about my situation. Another guy joined in and tuned in too. By the end of the day, I had about 6-7 therapists on my side who told me that this scenario had happened repeatedly throughout the course of the centre.
I've been encouraged to lay low, but I really want to actually build a long, good relationship with my boss because one day I'd like to do my PhD research on an outcome study of the centre. To do this I can't afford to allow myself to be bullied or controlled, and need to really approach this issue as an equal rather than as a subordinate. If I have a relationship of subservience, I'll have trouble exerting influence when conducting my own study, not to mention I'd have to spend three years dealing with someone I don't like.
Anyway, work politics suck. You'd think an NPO therapy provider, of all places, would be better than that.

I gave up looking for a purpose in life a couple of months ago. I've found that anything I try to achieve I will inevitably(sp?) won't. I just go with the flow and going with an extremely general plan (ie, buying houses, building wealth, etc) and hoping that the rest will fall in place. It does help that I'm actually working a job I enjoy now, which makes the rest bareable.

Yeah well I don't love my job, I can barely tolerate it at the best of times but I have no idea what I'd rather be doing so I'm just paying the bills for now.
All I want out of it is to rock up, work my 8 hours and go home, then get paid once a week. I was told yesterday that I should be more enthusiastic after I nodded in agreement to something instead of verbally saying the word 'yes'.
My attitude at the moment basically is You pay me = I do work for which I am paid to a satisfactory level. No one owns my emotions and I get along ok with co-workers and have mastered the art of pretending to like clients, I just get irritable when I'm trying to work on something and get interrupted (mostly by my boss asking a question he's asked 10000 times before) every 5 minutes, but wouldn't anyone?

Been there.
My advice to you is to drop what you're doing and pursue something that you're genuinely interested in. If you can't get a job, look into doing a course. There's no point in moping around complaining about how bad your life is, because you're the only one who can do something about it.
I nearly fell into that trap, and it it almost killed me. That was the shock to the system I needed. In the last two years I've gone from a dead-end job in a rural Aussie town, to living and studying in Melbourne, to living in Japan and learning Japanese. All it took was a little determination, and willingness to take a sledgehammer to my comfort zone.
It's not impossible, but remember that nobody is going to live your life for you. Take some initiative.

On a related side note, I'm amused by that Defence Force ads generally focus on the whole fulfilment aspect of the job and whatnot but seem to gloss over the fact that it's an occupation whose primary purpose is killing (particularly the one with the guy learning how to operate the surface to air missile and talks about the feeling of accomplishment he gets from being able to use it properly).

I had sleep paralysis when I woke up today. Second time it's happened to me now.
Was having a nightmare where I was in some sort of wooden-floored gymnasium, laying on my stomach whilst trying to evade being killed by something. Being that I sleep on my stomach on a Japanese futon (a traditional sort of low bed) and have wooden floorboards in my apartment, I woke up and thought I was still dreaming. Very strange feeling.
So I tried to get up, but couldn't move. At all. Kinda felt like someone was standing on my back, pinning me down. You can struggle all you want, and nothing happens. Couldn't move my arms, couldn't say anything. It's a very scary thing to have happen to you, I assure you. This lasted around a minute before it 'broke' and I was able to roll off my bed.

Yesterday was a nightmare, flip flopping between various projects, being told to work on one, then not on one, then back onto it again, then told not to work on something that I wasn't even working on anyway, then I'd get interrupted every 5 minutes by my boss re-asking questions I've answered 10,000 times before that would ruin my concentration. Then my boss would take issue with the fact that I seemed kind of irritated. WELL YOU KNOW WHAT? I AM ****ING IRRITATED

There's an entire menu of things that're 100 yen. Like, burgers, drinks, etc. You can go there and feed yourself for $2-3 if you're so inclined.
The normal menu is almost entirely different as well. Go in there and order a McChicken, and you'll get a chicken schnitzel in the bun instead of a processed patty. Then there's the random stuff like McShrimp and McRib... And free DSi Ware Dragon Quest games over WiFi.

F***!
I hate doing this eTax thing, because it always gets stuck at the bit about interest earned on bank accounts. You mean I gotta f***ing go back and find 4 freaking bank statements and work out that chump change??
Also; the thing at the end said I'll be getting $565 out of $4,507 withheld... its less and less every year :(

I can never get more than $200 - EVER! And my friend just complained he 'only' got $880 this year

Mine calculated it for me, without me needing to enter anything. That was pretty cool.

Most of mine was done for me. It's been pretty easy for me, since I was a full time student for a good portion. (h)

I don't know what bank you're with, but the Commonwealth Bank puts the interest earned in a year on the 1st July on its Netbank to make it easy. Then you can print it off if you need to or just submit it.

I am with Commonwealth, but its only listing this accrual period deposit interest, everything else is nil.

Just found out one friend from uni recently got married in scotland, whilst another mate just got engaged to his girlfriend (also a friend of mine).
Having one of those introspective moments... :/

Hmm, must get back to doing my taxes. I think I had it mostly complete, I was just stalling until it could bring up my earnings and whatnot.

I know how you feel. One of my best mate's is engaged, another one is all but engaged and I'm still struggling to even connect with someone.

So I'm trying to get some cheap ski goggles off eBay, found alright pair from a local seller with decent feedback. However after buying them I noticed in the item description this:
Please note: any customer who has purchased or enquired about m8r8 products will automatically allow m8r8 to use their internet details for future promotional purpose, unless a reply email is sent to m8r8 stating their objection to any further use of their internet details for online promotion.
Wankers.

Work was dead... right up until 1330. Then it was busy!
I spent most of the morning cleaning, taking my time, sweeping areas that haven't been swept in a long time... and then come back from lunch and I've gotta get orders ready for Ballarat and all kinds of crap in a rush!
BLAH!

I sent two messages yesterday to an eBay seller requesting express postage, but gave up this morning and paid the invoiced amount with registered post.
Only after I've paid do I get a response. >_<
At least you got a reponse. I ordered some stuff last year, requested registered post, got a copy of the original postage statement as a response, then laughed when the items got lost in the mail and I got a full refund.
Have spent the last 3 hours tidying my desk and I'm still not finished.
