Supernatural Season 3 on Blu-ray off Zavvi, I thought I'll obtain season 1 and 2 off the internet and get this cause it's cheap but then I ended up getting Supernatural season 1-5 on blu-ray off eBay. Already watched season 1 internet version and 3 has arrived but now I don't need it. Darn it.

Got Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone off eBay.

Been thinking of getting Heroes 1 -4 on Blu-ray.
I remember 1 being god tier, 2 was Kristen Bell tier while 3 and 4 are a little hazy.

The less said about the final season the better, unlike many people I enjoyed this show a great deal and felt the let down was that the final season made little to no sense, and squeezes things into a neat little ribbon, seeing as the following season/ the show got canned.

Gotta love the old $5 movies. I'm betting the Texas film will be terrible (as I';ve ben led to believe) but when it comes to horror remakes/sequels/other I've gotta watch 'em all.

Can't believe it's taken me this long to watch Cop Land again, I've literally not seen it since it was first released. Still a damn good film, and what a cast!

Yeah I usually only pay $10, but I felt like watching them at the time so I got them anyway.

I find it really easy to pick up ex-rentals on the cheap now days. In my experience Blockbuster is usually the cheapest place. Although this one Video Ezy I go to sometimes has them 3 for $20.

And after paying $13 for those 2 I didn't end up watching them either, went and saw Rise of the Apes instead...

In FF#4 (that's Fast and Furious 4, not the Fantastic Four), in the begining Vin makes some comment about "something happening in Japan", which is a wonderfully lazy way to acknowledge that another film exists before/after the other films, without actually acknowledging it any real way.

I won't criticize your commitment to old tech but I'd like to ask, why tape?

VanAce was right to say the format better facilitates the sort of music in the pic, actually some of those are pro-tapes (I remember when these cost like 30 bucks retail) and sound surprisingly good with no hiss and a strong loud sound. The tape on the far right in the pic is not metal at all and contains a few live tunes recorded on a micro-cassette, the sound is really low and there's only 20 minutes worth of music, it'd be a waste to release that on cd but a c-20 seems perfect. A lot of this stuff is recorded to tape in the first place as well.

Thing is I've been into underground music for ages and most of my favourite stuff is on tape or vinyl and if/when that stuff gets re-released on cd, there's no fancy studio transfer from the master tape, it's usually a bad transfer from someones copy of the original. I can think of a bunch of releases where the cd version actually sounds worse then the tape due to this. I've got one cd in particular that sounds worse then a dub I have of the same release.

I made a soundcloud account to illustrate this, I uploaded the cd collection version of a song and then the pro-tape version (which is nearly 20 years old), both ripped from my originals, didn't do a thing to the files after ripping and upped them both as wavs:

http://soundcloud.com/shitcloud

Yes I'm aware they both sound bad but I did check that band out because someone described them as the 'worst band in the world' (I've heard way worse though).

Finally and most importantly tapes are (at least were) the only way to get unreleased/rehearsal/live material from many underground bands, and I did a lot of tape trading back in the day so I've got a lot of very rare stuff stored on that format, a lot of which hasn't been ripped and put on someone's blog or has been done so in a substandard way. I got the new deck to archive it and make cd-rs for the car, it's been fun listening to it all again.

Sorry for the long rant, I can see it being a bit weird being so happy about getting a new tape deck but the other one I was looking at was $600 so I'm pleased to get a good one without having to spend that much.

We just have to take their word for it that the drawings are 30 000 years old.

If I went to a cave with a piece of coal and drew elaborate cavemen drawings, and then some scientists carbon dated it, it would date for millions of years, because the coal I used is millions of years old.

Oh, someone recommend me some good WWII movies while I'm here. :p

This was the most impressive testorone soaked movie mayhem list I've seen in a while, until I noticed......... that film.

Grabbed Mission Impossible 4 and The Matrix Trilogy on BD from JB.

The Matrix Revolutions is less terrible than I remember.

Sometimes movies get better on a repeated viewing as part of your memory remembers which sections are happy or sad, and you are able to cue your emotional response more easily without your judgement taking precedence, plus you may pick up little subtle details you missed before.

Overall I find movies easier to digest at home where I don't have to force my full attention for 2 hours without being able to press pause.

You can pause movies at the cinema too, just call in a bomb threat.

Red Cliff & Fight Club are the only stand outs from that list IMO. The Hurt Locker is nearly there.

Why would you not already have those films? Why. Why WHY WHY!

How could anybody not buy them! You're all insane.

Insane in the membrane.

I've hardly got a life at all, but I've got too much of a life for that.

I'd like to see the Captain America movie though. Doubt I'd buy it to watch once though.

Fair enough, I'm a comic fanatic though so any half decent flick I have to buy. But not the F4 or Electra movies, I have standards man!

There's a volume 2 or a season 2? I thought they canned Caprica after one season?

I don't know if this constitutes a bargain, but it's not a rip-off: Kmart have "Combo Pack" copies of Inception. It had two Blu-Rays, a DVD of the movie and a fourth disc which can be copied to iTunes or Windows Media Player for use on related devices. For $16.

Copying the digital copy into iTunes at the moment, now I can impress people by having a movie that is far longer than my battery life would ever allow for on my iPhone. It will be the modern equivalent of the car breaking down on the way home from the movies.

"Oh dear, the battery just ran out and our faces are really close together from peering at the tiny screen."

This will surely lead to sex, eventually.

Yeah, there's only one season, but the UK DVDs split that season into two volumes.

I got sucked into watching the whole of Inception in bed on my phone, intending to check out a few minutes of it, and now it's 3:30 and I can't sleep, or I'm already asleep.
