I just saw Muppet Movie too, and I didn't watch any Muppet's growing up, so this was my first real Muppet experience.

For me it was absolutely hilarious, I was giggling the whole movie at all the puns and the 4th wall breaking jokes.

I also laughed that hard during the Spongebob Movie, so my opinion doesn't really count.

"I rode the Hasselhoff!"

Also the Toy Story short before the Muppets was great. I loved all the different new toys that were introduced.

Yeah I forgot about that until I read your post. That short was hilarious.

Millenium Trilogy - 4.75 / 5

Absolutely brilliant. Loved it. Third movie seemed to drag on a tiny bit in the middle but nothing major. Biggest disappointment is that there's no more movies to watch. :p

Is it worth watching the US version of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo?

Flash Point - 5/5

Does what it says on the box. Action, action, action. There is some trace of a story but they don't ruin the action by going into too much detail. Use of Mixed Martial Arts was very welcome.

Tintin

I enjoyed it a lot, the level of the animation made the action sequences more engaging than a traditional animation would have been, an there was a LOT of action sequences. Speilberg was more or less in Raiders ot Lost Ark -for-kids mode. The females in the party enjoyed it less than the males, although my neice's negative opinion applies to everything and should be ignored.

The action was really cool but I wasn't much of a fan of the story which seemed to be all over the place at times.

Horrible Bosses.

Not Horrible, Not Good. A lazy me-too "adult" comedy following on in the wake of the now dormant heat from The Hangover. I know Jason Bateman will be in another decent flick again eventually, but this is not it. The broad comedies seem to relegate him to a cardboard cut out, he's so much better in indy style dramas (Extract, Juno) where people write to his strengths. Still, the dudes gotta get paid and eat, so I don't hold that against him.

It had its moments, but with a few tweaks it could have been something worthwhile instead of something forgettable.

The Hangover 2 - Like the first one, but not as good. Worth a watch though.

Cedar Rapids - "Quirky" drama comedy vehicle with Ed Helms playing a character not too different from Andy Bernard.

A mediocre film that is lifted by it's fun cast and supporting roles. John C. Reilly is awesome in this, along with Isiah Whitlock Jr. (from The Wire). There is a ton of guest/support actors, comedy people etc that really makes this film better than it has any right to be. If you approach it not expecting too much, you will be pleasantly surprised. More so if you are fans of these guys (which I am).

It exists. Feel free to gouge your eyes with a fork and pour boiling hot wax into the cavities before viewing for the best experience.

Or I guess you could just stuff ear plugs in before you go to stare at Beckinsale's arse.

There are not many films you can say that for.

3D made the fight scenes in Transformers 3 more watchable because it forced Michael Bay to actually pull back the camera to a semi-reasonable distance, the end result being that viewers could have a somewhat better idea of what's going on.

Though that's probably damning 3D with extremely faint praise.

The whole steady cam idea worked well and didn't feel forced like other films. The film also progressed in scale in a natural manner. There were to or three really good twists in it too.

It also goes a little bit Dragon Ball Z at the end.

Watched DRIVE on blu-ray, loved it so much I had to buy the soundtrack. Spontaneously came while watching film, had to watch a second time like two days later. Best purchase ever.

Drove to work at dawn (like usual) and instead of imagining I'm in a Michael Mann film (neon, lights, concrete jungle, cranking eerie electro beats, instead imagined I was in the world of Drive, soothing electro pop fuelled determined grim faced driving, may have 'accidentally' rammed other motorists off highway...who says films are bad for you?).

Never Back Down 2: The Beatdown

kungfucinema.com has let me down. When they compared the fight scenes to that of Undisputed III I was expecting something a lot better.

The first problem with this film is it's building to an event (ie the one night underground tournament called The Beatdown), so you basically have 60-70 minutes of exposition and training montages, before getting to the whole reason you watched this film.

Now because there are 4 characters central to the story, this meant a lot of the fight scenes are pretty short, save for the last two. If it was structured like Undisputed III, with the stages of the tournament staggered over a few days, then if would have allowed to fit the story amongst the action.

As for the fight scenes themselves, well they're nothing special. There's some obvious pulling of punches, and some sloppy grappling work. To its credit, it does go easy on the jump cutting.

It tries to appeal to the hardcore MMA fan by name dropping people like Fedor, Anderson Silva, Cro Cop, Randleman, and Bas Rutten. It even features a bizarre cameo by Lyoto Machida.

Ultimately an average film for a martial arts film fan, and shit film for anyone else.

Sounds like the same edition. Have a look on there for the Bacall hosted Bogart retrospective. I think it's an hour or so long.

I like on the Ebert commentary where he mentions that Bogart was not to wear his hat too much in the film, seeing as it made him look too much like his gangster roles. If you look at the cover, and when you watch the film again, it's rather conspicuous, or is it in-conspicuous? You decide!

good god what a load of crap this movie was, i went in there with an expectation to be entertained for almost 2 1/2 hours, but no, i was utterly displeased with this movie.

Everyone who has poked fun at The Hunger Games realises that it was PG yes? The shaky cam is to allow violence without people see what's going on.

The books are much more gruesome, and go into details why Katniss does what she does. The movie needed to be rated MA15+ to get the proper movie treatment it was deserved.

Oh and it's based on a trilogy of books, but that movie was only covering the first book. There are still 2 in production.

There is plenty of use of the shaky-cam in completely non-violent scenes, mainly in the first 30 minutes. In the action scenes later on it isn't a problem.

The performance of the two main characters was good, Brit Marling in particular.
Overall i found it pretty enjoyable despite a few flaws.

I've been watching the whole of Rocko's Modern Life, season 2 from the psn store on my vita. It's exactly how I remembered it and the quality is pretty much the same, but there is a few times where the animation will flicker on random stuff. Overall I'd say a 9/10 is fair. Now I'm off to watch season 3.

I'm trying to find out the name of an old film, see if this sounds familiar. A group of bald children (brothers I think) with sharpened teeth dressed in white escape from a mental asylum in a bloody rampage. They are trying to find their long seperated sister (I think they had questionable intentions) in order to bring about the birth of some kind of anti-christ. It was maybe from the 70's or 80's I think, plus the psychopathic kids walked around playing mouth harps which was well mental too.

it was subtitled, and the asylum was in the jungle/bush. When the kids escaped they wrote things on the walls in blood. I'm pretty sure they managed to track the sister down and do the deed to bring forth some kind of nic russell antichrist

Great action, great humour. I loved the way the way the heroes' personalities clashed. This movie is absolutely fantastic!!!

after all the single movies introducing the individual characters like iron man, thor and captain america, it was really worth it in the end with this movie.

it was a little slow in the beginning trying to work from multiple angles with all the characters, but i believe that they gave all of them equal amounts of time on screen.

im sure everyone has a single favourite bit in the movie but mine is
loki is in stark tower facing the hulk saying that he is far beyond all the humans, hulk grabs loki and completely beats the crap out of him, leaving loki in a crater gasping for breath

everybody should see this movie, no exceptions!!!

Thanos makes a lot sense as the next film needs a larger threat. The plot will be most likely based to a degree off Infinity Gauntlet as it seems to be the most well known story of his. I was waiting for the X-Men or the Fantastic Four to bail them out when the alien invasion was getting too much.

Hey man, the first time I saw it was on the BD I ordered from the UK. When it arrived I watched thinking it could not be all that bad as people say.

No, it was worse.........

The Dead - Far Cry 2 + Zombie Movies = The Dead. Sounds kind of cool, looks alright at first but man this movie was so god damn boring that I turned it off about 2/3 of the way through. I very rarely do this, I watch a lot of terrible films, I mean AWFUL films. But if a horror movie is just boring, then clearly something has gone wrong. It's technically competent and all that, well done on a small budget etc, but **** me is this film boring. I'd rather watch Cast Away two times in a row.

So I watched Drive for the fourth time or so.

And then I figured I better watch some other films by Nicolas Winding Refn, and ordered Valhalla Rising and Bronson on Blu-Ray.

Bronson was interesting, well made film very stylish and in many ways an innovative way to tell the "true story" of the British criminal / nut bag Charlie Bronson. Amazing performance from Tom Hardy and I finally know what the bloody film is about. Decent special features on the disk with a commentary and making of.
Good film, but not really my thing.

Valhalla Rising on the other hand, sweet jesus I love this film. A surreal existential film about a one eyed mute viking with lashings of realistic ultra violence filmed on location in Scotland with strong visuals and incredible atmosphere, a relentlessly bleak and beautiful film that is not about a story as such, but a journey into madness and transcendence and a metaphor for the evolution of man. The perfect late night film to watch over and over again.
I cannot recommend this film highly enough. Watch it if you enjoy challenging cinema!
