What have you all been up to in our three week long break?

Myself; I spent a week thinking about getting a life, then I decided to help work on getting the forums back up. It's been a very stressful few weeks.

Stayed inside as much as possible to avoid the heat and humidity. Damn you Japan!

Also played through a few games, which I guess is to be expected. Made friends with a couple of Aussies who live in my town and they're awesome.

Worked, updated HAH, cried, played God of War 2 waiting for my 360 to come back from M$, played TF2. Mostly worked.

When I realised Hyper was down, first thing I did was investigate the vBulletin message that had been left for any secret clues. "Closed for maintenance" it said.

Maintenance...perhaps something to do with a maintenance tool...a wrench? A crowbar? Perhaps I was meant to purchase something that a person involved in maintenance would use. So I went down to the hardware store, bought the largest wrench I could find. Now all I had to do was wait for the next vBulletin message, telling me where I had to use the wrench to 'close' something.

And so I waited.

And I waited.

And for weeks that message was still the same.

Perhaps I had judged wrong. Maybe the secret message was different than what I had worked out.

And then the database error appeared, and I knew what I had to do. I had to take my wrench, travel to America and take out the home of vBulletin, I had to cut the head off the snake once and for all, and the Hyper administrators were instructing me how to do this. So I bought a return ticket to LA, and was about to board at Sydney Airport when I just happened to check my phone and go to Hyper again. The error was gone, and replaced by a vBulletin message. Had they retracted their previous instructions?

"CHECK OUT ISSUE 190"

No. No, once again I had slightly misunderstood, I had to travel to HYPER HQ and take out their database with my wrench. All the pieces fit, this was what I was meant to do.

I stood outside the building. A dark and ominous storm began to brew overhead. There was no children on the street, just three large, black jackals staring at me with their blood red eyes. And as I began to move into the building, a crazed man, with long beard and shaggy hair, and wearing a long brown trenchcoat, ran up to me screaming

"NOOOOO. DON'T DO IT, IT'S ALL A TRICK"

I stopped. "A trick?" I asked him.

He caught up to me and leaned on me to catch his breath.

"Yes. All a trick. From those PCPP people. They hate this forum so much, and they almost discovered the perfect way to take them down, by using one of its members who has far too much time on his hands to follow apparent secret instructions to take down Hyper. BUT THOSE INSTRUCTIONS COME FROM PCPP PEOPLE!"

I dropped the wrench and almost fainted.

"I have been tracking your progress, but haven't been able to locate you until know, coincidentally just as you were about to destroy Hyper. Good timing huh? But look!"

He pulled an iPhone out of his jacket and showed me the Hyper page.

"See? The forum's back up!"

I stared into the warm glowing warming glow of the iPhone, and began to weep. For Hyper was back up, and happiness had returned to me.


And that's the story of what I did while Hyper was down.

Oh yeah, since Hyper was down for a few weeks it almost gave me half the free time I needed to read the 50,000 word post Aub made in the mod forum bitching about me, Readman and Arenael.
