Mainly Dark Souls and a little bit of The Binding of Isaac. Whoever thought of making TBoI in flash is a tard. My computer really struggles when there are many enemies on screen, which is exactly when you need it to be a smooth as possible. No More Heroes (PS3 version). It's strange seeing such bland textures in HD. The "jobs" get tedious, but I do like the side missions that involve killing generic goons in black suits and of course the anime style boss fights. The sense of humour and style is what I most enjoy about the game though. Never did really enjoy Killer 7, but after I play NMH and it's sequel, it's full steam ahead into Shadows of the Damned territory.

The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile. One word: bloodgasm.

I'm only a couple of levels into it. So far I quite like the combat system and I had a Super Meat Boy moment while taking on a boss. I kept stuffing up my timing and dodging waaaay too much with the chick (dodging into attacks). No sooner I'd died, I was back into the fight. Same thing happened in an earlier part - there's no disengagement, just enough time to acknowledge that you've died and you're straight back into it. As for the combat system; a variety of simple combos, gory executions, fluid animation and a dodge system that is way too satisfying to use are all making this game great.

I just hope I continue to enjoy it as much as I have been. Though for 400 points, I can't really complain too much if it turns mediocre.

Lastly, my Redguard warrior on Skyrim is level 11, I just slayed my third dragon, I jumped off of a barbaric nordan clifface into the water below, I saved a courier from a sabre cat, and now I'm about to do some fine tuning to my perks, I'm going for Speech, heavy armour, 1 handed swords, block, and archery.

Currently playing through all the Dragon Age: Origins DLC.

The Stone Prisoner, Warden's Keep and Return to Ostagar were all quite underwhelming, though they are only quests. I just finished Leliana's Song and really enjoyed it. I know it's more of the same, but at least the music was a nice change. As was having a break from my warrior; heavy armour, a decent shield and an overly enchanted axe/sword really does make the game an easy romp.

Though I have remembered one thing: **** I hate human/elf mages.

Started No More Heroes 2 immediately after watching (playing) both endings of the first game.

So far I like the soundtrack, the new enemies but I miss the game world that apparently people complained about in the first game.

The side-jobs in the first game were tedious, but easy to get enough cash for the next mission or buying clothes etc. The mini-game 8-bit stlye games that replace them are kind of cool for about five minutes, and while they are well made - they are also pretty damned annoying to play, and prove to be a frustrating way to earn money. I actually prefer the mundane jobs of the first game, mainly because they were faster to complete and lead to cool assassin side-missions.

The revenge missions are pretty decent, and I'm actually enjoying using the Wii-motion controls for the beam katana swings (kills) and wrestling moves, probably one of the best uses of motion control I've seen on the Wii, even if it is a bit simplistic. The wrestling moves / dizzy combos are better implemented in MNH#2, used mainly as finishers, but sometimes you can get a cheap shot in early and kill a powerful enemy in only a couple of hits.

The way your katan tilts up and down in real time (above the hip overhand / below the hip underhand) as you use the Wii-mote is pretty damn cool though.

I'd love to see a game that used this type of thing in a Bushido Blade / Way of the Samurai type of game. A lightsabre combat would be cool, but an authentic sword combat game with accurate control would be even better, not that the Wii could do that, but I'm sure we'll see it in the future, and that's something I would buy if they made a decent enough game.

Hell yeah, do it! Oblivion is awesome. I'm 30 hours into Skyrim now and despite everything being more varied and pretty (and combat more crazy) they're both pretty damn similar. So far, I'm enjoying it just as much as Oblivion.

I can see it being really frustrating if you don't have a lot of tolerance for puzzles that can take upwards of 30 mins (if you're me). After beating it, going back and trying to complete the challenges after the game is quite an effort and I found myself needing to take a break for a while.

Otherwise though I can't see how you can call it "shit". One of the best games I've played on XBLA, really solid mechanics and great overall design.

Well, I love puzzle games, but Winterbottom's aesthetics, clunky interface and, what I thought to be, bland, repetitive puzzles just didn't do it for me. It isn't even a "oh this isn't very good", it is a "woah this game is rubbish".

I read some user comments from a Winterbottom review, that one person said the "balance" isn't there. Difficulty is quite hard on some early levels and then suddenly becomes easy towards the end. Even their 9 year old solved some of the "harder" levels towards the end.

Like I said, I'm going to have to pass on Winterbottom. I'd rather (wait and use the points to) buy a game like the Adventures of Shuggy on XBL (which I enjoyed the demo more than the Winterbottom demo).

Might have to wait for another Steam sale to get Winterbottom. :/

Reinstalled Dragon Age Origins. Looking back on this game now, I still do not like it for the fact that decisions are strictly forced upon you. I started a Dwarf Rogue, and i was forced to take Alistar with me, I wanted to have the smallest possible amount of character selection possible. So when it came time for Fenreth to burden me with Morrigan, again i had no choice but to let her follow me up to the village of Loathering. Finally, after having paid my way past the bandits, i kicked her ass back to Fenreth's hut.

As for what I'm playing, I've decided to dust off DoA4 and start working on the costumes. I'd forgotten how frustrating the game is with a 360 controller (especially the d-pad) and how cheap the final boss feels. My goal after knocking off a decent chunk of the costumes is to finally pick one or two characters to specialise in (or rather, suck the least with), then try knocking off the survival cheivos. Like that'll happen

Armoured Core: For Answer. Finally bringing myself to finishing it. There is something badarse about boosting towards a giant city-sized fortress which is firing shells the size of your mech, then getting in close and tearing it apart. Bit by bit.

Currently blasting through with arm mounted miniguns, back mounted spread missiles, a medium-heavy chassis and arm/hanger mounted handguns just incase I need some more bullets. Need For Speed: Most Wanted and Dead or Alive 4. Finally up to the final blacklist entry for NFS. What started out as a bit of fun has turned into an annoying grind. The plus side is that the helicopter glitched - rotating non-stop back and forward above a road - so I could rack up 10mil bounty just ploughing through a recurring roadblock and not being pursued, while maintaining heat.

I've come to a conclusion about the original X360 controller with fighting games - it's ****ing shit. I found my old N64 and a controller with a decent thumbstick. I had forgotten about the unofficial controller that I bought off of ebay that happens to have a good thumbstick. Occasionally though, on Banjo Kazooie, Banjo would sometimes move forward on his own in a slow tip toe pace. Easily fixed by unplugging and plugging back in the controller, and it works completely fine other than this.

I also found an old accessory that i used to use on my older pc. It's a usb ps2 controller plug where you can put your ps2 controller into it, and you can control your games through a ps2 controller. I prefer the old ps2 controller to the xbox360 controller, yes I happen to own one for my pc as well, but it's terrible to use in a game like Trackmania, my time trials records were still actually better with a keyboard.

Yeah, those game controller to PC adapters are great, you can pick up some dirt cheap ones these days on ebay, some of them have multi-inputs so you can use several different console controllers with the one unit.

Apart from SR3, I've mainly been working on my Steam library. Demigod I've found enjoyable, though the limited character roster does make it feel like a game I'll only visit occasionally. Dungeon Defenders was a fun two hours with a few friends, though I can't see myself enjoying it as much with randoms. Frozen Synapse is an interesting concept I look forward to spending more time with. Mount & Blade: Warband has already taken nine of my hours and I expect it to take many more - Swadians ftw. Orcs Must Die! is the type of tower defence game I prefer - I like to be in the thick of it, even if only to keep myself busy.

Space Pirates and Zombies is a title I didn't expect to enjoy as much as I have been. It's a pretty simple top down action space romp, with a nice bit of resource and ship management. Despite this, I'm compelled to one day captain a behemoth blistering with more weapons than my reactor can probably handle. The light-hearted humour and pretty visuals help to offset the repetition of the gameplay, making it an easy title to pick up and enjoy or to sink hours upon hours into. Apparently I've already put 15 hours into this, yet it feels like many more.

Finally, I tried the beta for Tribes Ascend. After seeing TotalBiscuit's 'WTF is' (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a1HCnrU3FT8) on it, I was sold. Then I found out a mate was in the beta so boom, easy key within the hour. The ski mechanic does take a bit to get used to and it is a welcome change from the modern shooter with their 'realism'. I am also happy about the lack of hit-scan weapons. It's good to have a bit of visible and non-instant 'old-school' ammunition which requires leading the target. There is something truly satisfying about pegging a guy going at 150kmph or so in the head with an explosive disc. It seems CTF is the only populated mode, though that is fun enough in its own right. As a person who's only unlocked the Soldier and Ranger, I can't say I've had any good experiences in capturing the flag. My one grab ended with a whole team chasing me down and promptly pulping me with their entire arsenal, grav bikes included. But for the general combat, it's a title I'm sure to put more time into.

Now to 100% SR3 and try Fable 3, Vanquish and Shogan 2.

I'm in the same situation as you atm, mostly so I can uninstall them after finishing the mediocre games. I've still got to finish:

Dungeon Siege 3: So far I'm only about 6 hours into the main quest line.
Deus Ex Human Revolution: I really don't want to rush this game too much, so I'm saving it for last to finish.
Dead Island: To be honest I'm already bored with the mechanics and difficulty in this game. Food drops are everywhere, the quests are linear and straight to the point, sometimes way too straight forward. I'm not really playing this one for any other reason than the main story.
Duke Nukem Forever: I'm mostly finishing this one as a tribute to the loss of 3D Realms. On all difficulty settings.
Just Cause 2: Too busy dicking around in planes to finish this one.

Mother 3's battle system is standard fare, with an added rhythm combo system which is difficult to pull off via computer emulation (flash cards are apparently much easier). Your HP is also a counter, which ticks down when damaged. If you get hot with a mortal blow, yet heal/win before the counter ticks down, you won't die, for example. The game itself, so far, isn't as good as Earthbound (Mother 2 ~ a tall order since that's my tied favourite game ever) but it's still absolutely brilliant. You've just got to make sure you regularly acquaint yourself with the town and its villagers throughout each chapter.

Bowser's Inside Story is my favourite of the three M&L games, it really maintains this brilliant pace the whole way through. I'm a bit sad to see that Paper Mario has moved to handhelds this gen though, I really enjoyed PM on consoles and M&L on handhelds...two different, hogh quality Mario RPG series (though I like the M&L series more).

Also, if you enjoy the Mario & Luigi series, Alphadream (the developers) also made a wonderful charming, combat-free, fetch-quest ridden Hamtaro RPG called Hamtaro: Ham-Ham Heartbreak which uses the same engine and graphical style.

A bunch of my friends and I are playing some good 'ol fashioned DnD! I'm playing a Tiefling Bard named Vesper Evermoist.

We've done a dungeon delve and have just dipped into a campaign. Our finest moment was probably slaying a level three mother****ing DRAGON at level one and somehow only losing a few of us to unconsciousness. My own personal finest moment was looting a bunch of dead townsfolk killed in a previous encounter, critically failing a stealth check and somehow bluffing my way past 10gp fine and convincing the guards that the money I was caught looting was originally mine.

I think this is the definite step up in the series that Undisputed 2 was lacking. The increased number of positions has definitely made the wrestling more fluid. However, while the submission system is better than the stick mashing of Shine in the previous game, it takes up so much screen real estate that you don't even see what you're actually doing. They should have just copied the sub system from EA MMA, it was better and actually maintained the full view of the action.

My spinfuser accuracy has improved, though not enough to allow me to win most encounters (particularly when I'm a soldier who always seems to run into juggernauts and doombringers). Being the local wrench jockey, I'm surprised at how few people seem to realise that repairing the generator is all well and good, but often the defences are smoking heaps which need more than a power supply.

Been having extended game sessions of LOTR War in the North.

I love the attention to detail in the combat. You shoot a goblin in the leg and it will trip and react as if you shot it in the leg. You shoot it in the torso and it will stagger backwards. This is in stark contrast to melee combat in Skyrim where no matter where you strike, the reactions are the same.

The death animations are also cool. I especially like climbing aboard a troll and sticking a sword into the back of its head, although I am not sure how and when to trigger these with certainty.

Even better are the critical strikes that cut off a leg, arm or head. The game momentarily goes to bullet-time during these gory animations and with the clangorous sound effects, is sure to satisfy anyone's orc bloodlust.

One complaint I have is there is no draw-time for the bow so it behaves like a gun. Its perfectly fine for the dwarf's crossbows and the elf-mage's magic staff, but there should have been draw-time for the ranger's bows for enhanced reality.

Another complaint I have is the inability to switch between characters in the field, which makes item swapping and level-up customisations annoying. So if you are playing single-player you're better off sticking to using just one character and using another to revisit completed areas to solve puzzles.

I find it weird that the eagles talk though. Do they talk in the books?

Mainly playing Battlefield 3 these days, under the handle princessbabe. I'd like to get back into Skyrim, but I've clocked 145 hours on it without finishing the main quest or even starting the civil war, and every time I fire it up for a play I find myself switching it off as soon as I have to do inventory management, item selling, or anything that feels like work. The same feeling of drudgery hits me whenever I get the urge to download a mod to patch up the visuals or fix up a gameplay aspect. I simply can't be bothered ****ing around with the script extender or 7z files and go back to BF3.

Playing Rayman Origins / PS3, fantastic platformer, and I'd say the best purely 2D platformer in years (other than mario obviously).

It's the best Rayman ever, because instead of being like any of the previous pretty but god awful boring Rayman games that bore me to tears, it's all kinds of awesome.

It nods at / steals from (in level design, music, and most importantly, game mechanics) Super Mario World, Donkey Kong Country, Klonoa, Sonic the Hedgehog, Crash Bandicoot and others. If you're going to steal other games ideas, well those are good ones to steal from.

The game mechanics are excellent, the visuals and audio are some of my favourite this side of the original Donkey Kong Country being infectious and catchy, and quite varied. The extra playable characters / pallette swap are a nice addition, the levels are short but plentiful - encouraging replay to gain the secrets / collectible challenge items. The world design, backgrounds etc are gorgeous and look as good/better than any screens/videos of the game.

It's maybe a tad too easy in some respects, but challenging in other ways (getting 100% for every stage will take a long time)
The animations are lively and full of character, the game exudes so much personailty, charm and humour that you'll feel like you are playing an old classic of the 16 bit era, but with gorgeous HD visuals. It's relentlessly old school with one hit deaths (but you can gain an extra hit easily like Crash / Mario / Sonic).

There's some R-Type / Parodius style bonus levels in there for no particular reason which don't really fit with the rest of the game, but hell I love them because they are so silly. As is most of this game, it made me laugh a lot with the humour, animations and nutty enemies (the old man who who shakes a stick at you).

I've only played the single player game, so don't ask me what the New Super Mario WII style 4-player mode is like.

Also, it's heavily reduced in price already in the UK:

Thank goodness Namco put up the classic Ridge Racer Type 4 songs for Ridge Racer, one in particular stands out for me, The Objective, I love that song. The game only has three tracks, but having this song more than makes up for it. I love hearing it in it's new audio format, sounds amazing!

I'm still laughing about that name: Ridge Racer Unbounded.

Playing a bit of El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron. So far it's enjoyable, but mostly all style no substance. That may change later in the game - but I don't think so, Tim.

Chugging along on the original Darkness - now that I've had some time with I can see that it has some pretty horrible and inaccurate shooting mechanics, and some of the choke points are just atrocious. I love the Riddick games, but somehow this just seems like too much padding, not enough gameplay. The walking around in between things gets tedious, why not load straight to the next area instead of making me walk around a bland anonymous street getting lost?
"You are here (o)" That's fine, maybe if I had suction cups and could stand on the map, then we'd have something.

Bastion: I see why people loved it. Despite lacking in difficulty, I found that the trip was still enjoyable and oozing with charm.

Metro 2033: Great atmosphere. I'm up to the library at the moment and the only thing that has annoyed me is how many bullets it takes to put down a Nazi. Scopes are also kinda crappy.

Dawn of War II/Chaos Rising/Retribution: Lacklustre campaigns (Retribution being pathetic), poor skirmish AI and 40k goodness to spark my fanboyism. I feel as if the AI in DoW was superior. My main enjoyment has been coming from Last Stand, though that is plagued with players lagging out and a population of maybe twenty at best.

Edit: Just had a spree of great matches in Last Stand. We ended up going with a three Sorcerer lineup for the last match, all with warp staves and all able to make clones of the enemy. Lasted until the 18th wave where we got hit with constant lag and wiped. Hectic and amazingly fun. There was also constant communication and good manners, both of which have been delicacies in previous matches.

Magicka: AAFW.

Shazbot Ascend: Gotta go faster. Gave the arena mode a spin at around midday and of the five of us on the Oceania server, four were uni students and one was on sick leave. I hate what they've done to Bella Omega - a CTF match I had ended with two Juggernauts and a Brute ensuring our generator was down for the whole match. Sure, we barely lost thanks to an over-abundance of cappers and chasers, but I prefer the old generator room layout. Finally, TDM with four friends is just carnage. Two Techs, one Juggernaut and two Soldiers. Simply put: recurring slaughters.

Total War Shogun 2: Really well done and I love the feel of it. This is the only TW to date that has actually encouraged me to complete a campaign (well, almost complete). Multiplayer is also pretty good, except that by the time I finally load a battlefield I have about 10-20 seconds to quickly sort everything out. Also, Loan Swords are OP.

I wish I could add DotA 2 to this list. A mate got lucky and won a beta key >_>
