Once commercial, now free IT'S LIKE STEALING WITHOUT THE ILLEGALITY

A thread for all those old (or sometimes even recent) commercially released games that have now been made legally free by their developers or a related party.

Most significant recent example is The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall, which Bethesda recently released as a free download that you can get

(Along with The Elder Scrolls: Arena, and DOSBox which you'll probably need to play the game)


Post them as you find them people (I'd go link for Beneath A Steel Sky and Lure Of The Temptress but I don't know where the hell I put the links for those.) And be sure that it's actually a legal download. >_>

Chex Quest (http://www.chucktropolis.com/gamers.htm)

The first one is a completely skinned version of Ultimate Doom that was used to advertise Chex Mix. It grew insanely popular and won quite a few awards for effective advertising. There still is a following of it as scary as that may be.

Download Chex Quest 3 for all of them (oh yeah, they made sequels for online distro only).

Best thing I ever got in my cereal as a kid. ;)
