View Full Version : Little King's Story
Seeing as the old thread's gone and I recently bought this, it seemed logical to make a new thread.

Little King's Story is an adventure-cum-RTS-cum-simulation game that is really alot like Pikmin. It's really addictive and awesome. I think afew Hyperians have this, so let's discuss!

I watched a video of this once that involved a man with a Television for a head invite me to watch a bizarre montage of various historical events. It didn't really sell the game to me.

I've been very tempted to buy this. Is it good enough to dust off my Wii and plug it all in?
It's like Pikmin? I thought it was supposed to be like Harvest Moon. Either way, this is one of the few Wii games that intrigues me.
I've never played a Harvest Moon game, but from what I've seen of it I suppose they're kind of similar in style, but gameplay-wise it's alot like Pikmin.

Oh, piss off Target. I just bought it for $60 thinking that was the last I'd ever see it >_>

I wasn't planning on buying it due to large gaming backlog, but at $35 it'd be worth it.
Now I just wonder if my local Target has any copies and if I'll be awake enough Monday morning to go a buy it.

For $35 I'll probably add this to my backlog. It seems to me like a more interesting version of Pikmin, which I never got around to playing much of.

I was looking at getting this but for $35 I think I definitely will.

That catalogue looks awesome! They had Shaun White Snowboarding for the same price and Deadly Creatures was on the cheap too!

I picked up what was possibly the last copy in the Bourke St. Target.
Haven't quite gotten around to playing it yet.

Loaded it up and so far I've found it quite charming. Certainly a few things in the game that do annoy me, namely the inability to aim using the wiimote sensor, but otherwise I'm at least not cursing myself for buying this game. Always a good start.

I managed to get a copy and just had a quick go before I leave for work. It was good fun so far. I felt bad when one of my people died because a Turnip killed them :p

I was enjoying this but I have come across a bug which has rendered this game unplayable. During fights the king's model disappears and his health bar stays in one place.
The king is now invisible and I can only tell where I am by the people behind me and by pressing z so the line shoots out in front of where I am :(

Progressed a little more in the game and like the kotaku review, I'm wondering if anyone was actually playing the game or knew what other good Wii games were like.
On another slightly related note, the festivals are disappointing since as far as I've found so far, there doesn't seem to be any use for them. It would have been good if there was something for you to do - like say feats to increase your popularity.

I've stopped playing this for now, as I've been occupied with some other games .. the story is pretty basic that you come back to it without risking that you've forgotten key points anyway ..
It's a good game though :)
And yes the festivals appear pointless.
