Instead of actually moving forward/back I open just about every link in a new tab so I rarely use it :p

Q: Can the M950's USB receiver be used for my wireless Wave Pro keyboard? Noticed on Logitech's website it says it supports up to 6 devices, just wondering if they have to be specific models. Is it good enough to be put into the back of the PC case or does it drop signal like my current one?

The Forward/Back buttons also work when browsing your hard drives
But I guess you save everything to the Desktop so it doesn't really matter :p

Ho Ho :p No, my desktop is very clutter free
I never have to browse my HDD that often, everything is kept to a minimum of folders

Some of these are more recent than others, but oh well:
First is a PowerVar power conditioner, normally $300 iirc grabbed it for $10 from a thrift shop:
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_qQq7IsRuilM/THHev_fmeRI/AAAAAAAABk0/f8pvRxaMALk/s512/P1030551.JPG
This isn't a crappy power strip type either, it has a real isolation transformer:
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_qQq7IsRuilM/THHewdgYCdI/AAAAAAAABk4/vjo2nsUHIxU/s720/P1030465.JPG
Sucker weighs thirty-five pounds.
Monster cable speaker selector, once again a thrift shop find for $3 (like I'd pay $100+ for Monster gear)
http://lh5.ggpht.com/_qQq7IsRuilM/THHewtgh3HI/AAAAAAAABk8/zdLZ76EoRcg/s720/P1030466.JPG
Pic is a bit dusty and hard to read, but this is a Cambridge DacMagic that I bought after I sold the Cary Xciter I won. Has excellent jitter measurements on spdif and toslink (though USB is ho-hum consumer convenience quality) and thee different filters to avoid aliasing and ringing on the signal (though few probably know what I'm talking about >_>' ). Cost me $375 new shipped - cost $480 or so MSRP.
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_qQq7IsRuilM/THHeu_d9j3I/AAAAAAAABks/lWoxlvCPOow/s512/P1030546.JPG
New set of K601 headphones to replace my old ones. The plastic busted on the old headband and the cable was pretty worn, AKG wanted $170 for repairs but it was $200 new anyway.
http://lh5.ggpht.com/_qQq7IsRuilM/THHeuiyZcZI/AAAAAAAABko/P33FTj8e158/s512/P1030545.JPG
They're so beautiful ^_^
Another thrift shop find for $20 - a Magnavox CDB480. It has a Phillips CDM4/19 swingarm drive and two TDA1543 DACs which are okay given the age. I think it uses a digital filter to roll-off so there shouldn't be any gibbs effect or aliasing, but can't be sure. Makes for a fun listen though, and considering the CDM alone is worth around $100 I can't complain ^_-
http://lh4.ggpht.com/_qQq7IsRuilM/THHhisa0xqI/AAAAAAAABlA/BI4o70u4X6U/s912/P1030554.JPG
An optical splitter and repeater. My toslink run was too long, and I wanted it to go to my Victor SU-DH1 and NAD PrePro. Can't get a good picture of it though, so this one I'm using a stock photo for:
http://site.ambery.com/webgraph/AUMP-2PA-OpticalSplitter-Product.gif
$50 for it . . . considering I know what it takes to make them I feel pretty screwed, but don't have any tools for real SMD work (sigh).
I also bought a veneer finish wrap for my diy subwoofer. Took tons of sanding and bondo before I applied it, but looks respectable for $20:

The driver and amp were already assembled (the former would be quiet difficult to build alone). I built the box, finished it, installed amp and sub.
The reason to go DIY is you can usually get better measuring subs (less distortion and ability to go lower) for a much cheaper price.

Got my Logitech Performance M950 today, not very happy with it already. Looks like the L/R click buttons were raised too high at the front so everytime I press down on either of them it makes a rattling noise. Might be hitting against the wheel, not sure but its almost impossible to click them without making an annoying sound :(
Anyone else have this problem?

Vic's sub almost looks like a perfect cube. Isn't that a big no no in loudspeaker box design, but then what would I know?
Anyway I am a bit disappointed with the sub box you built because it's kind of just like the one I built, although I don't have a plate amp.
I would have expected a more intricate box design from a tech enthusiast like you. eg.

I contacted logitechshop.com.au who referred me to contact Logitech's customer service. I didn't realise they meant the official website though, its a bit confusing. So I called them up, got a reference number then contacted logitechshop again. I'm already trying to do 3 other returns atm, pretty fed up with all these mistakes
In general I'm not sure if I like the new mouse either, the palm rest disappears thanks to its bigger thumb rests so instead of my thumb occasionally sliding off, its now my palm! Plus that silver lining just looks tacky imo, would've looked better in matte. Side buttons are too far back as well

For regular loudspeakers sure, but with a subwoofer the wavelength is substantially longer so you're not going to get standing waves. It's then stuffed with a fiber fill for damping. It's also not a perfect cube, more a rectangle though I don't have the exact measurements off the top of my head.

That design linked has limits. First space constraints, and next they don't provide any group delay measurements (sealed designs are very fast, but do add distortion unfortunately). If I could I'd like to do infinite baffle, but since I'm renting that doesn't work. As such compact and fast (i.e. sealed) is the way to go for me.
Honestly I think the best compromise would probably be servo based, but DIY kits there are ho-hum since it's specialized and commercial ones are especially pricey (Velodyne and I think Paradigm made them).

Yeah mines fine. Don't mind the mouse for 59 bucks. The only thing that bothers me a little is the side buttons.

Seems a little on the heavy side too when compared to my MX1100, maybe its because its not as wide. I wish they made the right side curvier, there's nowhere for me to rest my little finger. Stupid godzilla-like hands....
If I didn't have the MX1100 already I'd probably be a bit happier with it (outside of my dud mouse). They should've kept the zoom buttons where they were on the MX1100 too, there's a lot of unnatural movement required just to press any of the 4 side buttons. I've yet to actually test out the darkfield itself but the clicking sound is enough to drive me crazy within 10 seconds. Really sounds like its hitting against the wheel

iPod Touch 4th Gen 32GB - $360 from JB
Came to their store very late last night, pretty much near 9pm so a lot of people didn't know about it & neither did the staff until it appeared. Was marked as $376 & I asked for a better price, saved $16 :) I checked around a few other stores but they didn't have it
Looking at the new iPod its slimmer & thinner than the other one although I kind of miss its bulkiness & the prominent silver outline. One thing I won't miss, the f***ing 8GB HDD!

This came in today:
http://photos.macnn.com/news/1003/astroa30.jpg
Astro A30 & Mixamp.
Some quick thoughts.
I was initially excited just to get the headset for gaming and portability, but boy, the Mixamp is the absolute star of the show! My Sennheiser HD555's has been serving me very well for over 5 years, but I plugged it into the portable amp and my eyes widened and my jaw just dropped. Such a tiny device, but it packs an enormous punch. And it runs on USB power, so you can plug it into a computer or console and it'll work. Which is great for me because the last thing I need in my home is another thing plugged into a power socket.
Also, the packaging of the headset is incredible! I think I just stared and inspected it for about 15 minutes before opening.

The A30 might as well be tossed, the Mixamp, HD555, and any decent clip-on mic would be the superior combination.
For gaming and movies I use something very similar, a Victor SU-DH1 set to DHII attached to an AV123 X-Head amp with a pair of K601's. It does indeed bring a viable silent HT option to those with headphones that work well with it. Of course I'd like to get my hands on a Smyth Realizer when/if I ever have the money for one.

They're the ones.
Wasn't really planning on buying new headphones just yet, but these came up for about $160 delivered in Aus, so I (impulsively) jumped on it. Got another pair of Audio Technicas which are great for the price, but not really as comfortable as I'd like for long periods - great for portable media though - so I figured I couldn't go wrong with these, especially after reading all the positive reviews of them. Haven't really had a chance to listen to them much just yet, but they are DEFINITELY the most comfortable headphones I've ever used. They're just.. wow.. for comfort. Sound seems great too, probably wouldn't get much better for the price.
Happy so far! Will give them more of a flogging later.

What would a Vicious post be without headphones? I present my latest headphone acquisition:
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_qQq7IsRuilM/TKazWXY3FYI/AAAAAAAABm8/uwkHsB6-9ZQ/s800/ATH-M40.JPG
Audio Technica M40FS. Not exactly high-end, but I needed a decent sealed can and these were about the best I could find overall for under $300 ($300 being DT48's).
Next, another thrift shop find I'm very proud of:
http://lh4.ggpht.com/_qQq7IsRuilM/TKazWOgFeTI/AAAAAAAABm0/84weCg3Q_ck/s800/roomba.JPG
Roomba 531 with docking station for $28 USD. I'm on a single floor so no need for virtual walls. Had to clean hair out of a brush bearing, but now it works quite well (as well as a Roomba can). Ever so often I call it Forest because it does some things a bit "specially", but overall 1/10 the price of a new one not to bad.
