did you play through it allready? what was bad about it? Achievements?

Six short sequences equaling about half an hour of content. It's all combat and gives you nothing new - including no achievements.

You can get on the flying machine anytime you want, it's nice but really useless. The actual content itself was just combat, and it leads straight into the next DLC. Sort of an anti-climax really. About 30 mins all up if you take your time.

meh. AC2 was disappointing, almost a non-event and they could've saved it by releasing some great DLC.

Ac2 was excellent, but a little too long for me as it was. I've no particular urge to try some shoe-horned DLC.

I think they'd be better off making 1-off extra missions from after the games conclusion, even delving into different time periods for short visits to other relatives. An new game might be better with an "Eternal Darkness" approach of many small levels with different characters exploring the same areas in different time periods.

I just played through DNA Sequence 12, it was good and gives you some answers between what happened after Ezio meets all of the assasins, but it's pretty short and it's not really essential, unless you really want to play through some more action based missions.

I ended up getting 2 trophies that I missed when playing through it the first time! :p

It creates more questions than it answers.

LOL yeah, especially since the ending is so anti climax ... hence the words "gives you some" answers :p

Grabbed Bonfire of the Vanities and so far it looks much better than the Battle of Florli. There's a new district added to Firenze with a nice new addition to the free-running - the sprint jump. Remember those times you wanted to jump across the street from one rooftop to the other only to come up short? Throughout the new district in Firenze there are little flagpole type things (I'm sure there's a proper term >_> ) jutting out from buildings (not all, but they can be prevalent), sprint onto them and Ezio will springboard across the street - it's pretty awesome. I wish it were a feature of every city/district in the game, even if they do stick out like a sore thumb a bit.

As I said, I'm not far into it, but at the moment I need to assassinate 9 dudes, each one in a different kind of scenario (for example, one was on a heavily guarded balcony overlooking a bridge while another had your target on ground level, surrounded by guards, preaching to the public). It's really nice to get some new assassination missions that seem to be laid out quite nicely.

Also, it should be noted for those that didn't pick up the Black (or even the White) edition of the game that the version of Bonfire of the Vanities that sells for 520 points comes with the three special missions that didn't come with the standard version of the game.

I picked up the 320 point version since I already have those special missions, and I have to say - where Battle of Florli left me feeling nigh-on ripped off, Bonfire of the Vanities seems like a great deal.

Yes. Complete with some very ugly DRM (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=235290&site=pcg)

Yeah, I read about that! What a complete JOKE. Actually, I'd call it insulting to PC owners who were maybe looking forward to this.

Does anyone know what happens if you have the DLC and you start the game from scratch? Will the story play out chronologically, with sequences 12 and 13 inserted in the correct order, or will I still have to play the DLC *after* completing the main campaign?

Interesting question .. I'm guessing that you will still skip sequences 12 & 13 because the memories being "corrupted" is part of the main storyline.

While Ubisoft is busy teasing players via Facebook, we’ve got anonymous tipsters sending us images of the placeholder art for something called Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood. Is this Ezio’s next big thing?

Between this alleged placeholder art and a recent website registration for AssassinsCreedBrotherhood.com, we’re pretty sure we’ve nailed down the name for the next game in the Assassin’s Creed series. The box art features our friend Ezio, surrounded by a group of unknown asaassins, presumably representing the brotherhood that appears in the title, as well as the blurb on the back cover.

“Live and breathe as Ezio, now a legendary master assassin, in his struggle against the Templar order. Lead your own brotherhood of Assassins and strike at the heart of the enemy. Rome.

“And for the first time, take part in an innovative multiplayer layer allowing you to embody an assassin of your choosing and define their killing style.

“A never-before-seen online multiplayer experience.

“Lead your own brotherhood of assassins, as Ezio, and conquer Rome.”

The art also features a sticker for a preorder exclusive multiplayer character, available only through GameStop. Who wants to bet its Altair?

The information on the box jibes with what we’ve heard so far about the next Assassin’s Creed game, and the name certainly fits. Looks like it’s coming to the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. Hopefully that last one will do a better job with DRM than Assassin’s Creed II did.

Of course, without official confirmation by Ubisoft, this is still filed under rumour, but it’s a damn good one.

We’ve contacted Ubisoft for comment, and will update this post should they respond.

Update: An Ubisoft representative has responded, confirming the image as real.

“Ubisoft confirms the authenticity of this image and will provide more information next week.”

You heard the rep, more details on Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood next week. Stay tuned

Sounds interesting, though it seems more like an "expansion pack" on AC2 as opposed to a full fledged sequel.

Didn't you know, EVERYTHING has to have multiplayer these days - even vegetable soup.

But you don't have to 'multi' play it (like Dead Space 2 or Bioshock).

Unless Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood does something really awesome to continue the story I don't think I'll pick it up. I'm a bit weary of supporting annual updates for the series and unless it turns out to be some amazing revolutionary concept multiplayer can go **** off. :P

I'm thinking it might be like Splinter Cell Conviction multi. Team based missions? And reviews for that are fairly positive right?

I started playing this yesterday, and although it's clearly a console port (wierd ass symbols instead of default keys when it shows you the controls) it's still completely playable and probably even more fun than the first right away.

I do hope it lasts longer than Splinter Cell: Conviction though.

I got 30 hours out of it, but then I took my sweetass time. It's easily a longer game than Conviction, though.

Took me 26 hours to 100% the game so yeah, you'll get solid playtime from it.

I was around that as well. Parts of it can be frustrating, but end game and storyline is pretty awesome..and once you've finished, running around pwning civilians and guards is sweet :) I'd definately buy a sequel I had awesome fun playing ac2

I usually don't agree with the "we've updated a game a year later" school of games makery. But in AC's case i'm more partial, given that i had so much fun with number two. And i honestly think co-op could be a great direction for the series. Also the inclusion of Rome is really what makes this worth purchasing. I wonder if they will use the old cities at all though. The preview i read suggested that it would all be centrered around rome. I thought there was definitely room for more stuff in Tuscany and Floril...

I just hope it is not full priced - looks like an expansion of AC2 and reports are that they are aiming for a shorter campaign.
