I love how it's impossible for the Daleks to say something without it sounding like a death threat.

On the train this morning I saw that someone had graffitied "MATT SMITH IS A FAGET" (with that spelling) on a fence.

Not sure if it was about someone else called Matt Smith or just a David Tennant fan .

As for the 3rd episode I have mixed feelings

It seemed more like "Victory of the Dalek New Release Toys".
The new look is a little silly and will take some adjustment but I think the episode could have benefited from being a 2 parter and skipping the "Stop the bomb with love!" bit

Maybe I had preset my standards to high because it was a Dalek episode.

lol heaps of people are called matt smith, like my very first boyfriend, which is whom they were talking about (obviously!) :P

Looks cheesy, but you never know if that's a good thing or a bad thing with Who.

Well... except for Gogo Dalek Rangers. The episode felt like it should be animated and thrown in a childrens timeslot on the ABC. Still, looking forward to the new episode tomorrow.

Angels, they were creepy as hell in that Blink episode and they're extra creepy in this new one.

Yes, I will now readily admit that I approve of the new Doctor. He's quirky like Tennant, but a bit sillier too (eg- jammie dodger). My only beef is that the writers have him trying to be tough on occasion (telling off the big eye thing at end of ep1, now his holding-a-gun monologue), but rather than tough he just sounds lame. Imo only Eccleston could pull it off, he was a very-rough-around-the-edges Doctor.

I thought when he shouted at Amy and the Queen at the end of Star Whale thing he was alright.

Has there been a delay in the tea shipment? I'm positive I was making tea much earlier than this last week. My usual kettle seems only to have last week's tea.

So I caught my first new doctor who tonight; he's channeling David Tennant too much for my liking, but it is only Ep2 I guess.

I just feels like a new actor playing the same doctor, rather than seeing a whole new doctor. His mannerisms, desperation, whimsical nature, and pained anger are all pretty much the same as when Tennant filled the roll.

TSplodey
03-05-2010, 12:14 AM
I can definately see some David Tennant in him, although I think hes a lot cockier and self assured than Tennant. Perhaps pushier too.

Pond is an enjoyable sidekick so far. Was a good touch at the end of Ep3 when she saw that Churchill took the TARDIS key from the Doctors pocket.

As for the other episode, those stone angels are still creepy as hell and now there's a whole new bunch of unanswered questions.

According to somewhere on the BBC website that you'll have to locate yourself, the colors indicate rank/role within the Dalek community.

When I saw their new eyestalk design I thought they might see in colour, guess its too classic to change that.

The Weeping Angels are the first monster of the new series that has that genuine behind-the-sofa terror of classic Who monsters. They're awesome.

So the latest ep was great, really enjoyable. My only complaint was that it felt a bit disjointed from the whole "OMG crack!" arc. Also, Mr Droopy-eye may be the ugliest person to ever grace the screen. Seriously, did he have an unfortunate accident with a rapidly moving frying pan as a child?

StorminNorman
17-05-2010, 06:04 PM
It felt a bit like the First Doctor story "Inside The Spaceship", with maybe a dash of "Trial of a Timelord" thrown in for good measure.

Interesting combination, for sure. I'm noticing a trend of really old and somewhat obscure Doctor Who references popping up in the current season.

It's true...

Was I the only one reminded of the Jon Pertwee story "Inferno" while watching this week's episode? Also, great to see another classic Who monster updated for the new series.

First Episode of Doctor Who Game Now Available For Free Download (http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/dw/theadventuregames)

If you live in the UK that is. Outside of UK you will have to pay for it at a later date when they release it to the rest of the world.

Or you can have it now if you 'move' to the UK

I'll bet by the end of next episode though the Doctor will escape, trick all his enemies into letting him stop the big universe destroying thing, and all will be end well.

Someone please tell me how accurate I am because I haven't watched this season at all.

I can't even read this thread. I missed last week due to work, I'll miss this week due to work and I'll likely miss next week due to work. I can't find anyone to tape it for me. So f*** it, I'm not watching, not reading, I've missed too much now. I won't even get a chance to watch it till I'm in Perth. Breaks my heart, it's the only show I want to watch all week.

All the robots were just a creation of Amy's mind. Rory is/was in her mind (at the time the alien guys borrowed her memories). So it's not actually Rory. Even his personality is just created from what Amy knows/knew.

I was thinking today that the end of the last episode would be an absolutely brilliant way to end an actor's role as the doctor and introduce a new one.

Too bad he's contracted for 3 seasons minimum

The whole season has been up and down for me and he's taken a bit of getting used to (when I'm still getting over David Tennant :( ) but it looks like all the storylines are now coming together

I've tried the game. Storyline is ok, gameplay is average.

They need an episode where you can explore the TARDIS
