Surely I'm not the only fan. How awesome was it. I never miss the 5pm reruns on 7. Favourite ep? Favourite character? Discuss all things M*A*S*H here.

Gah, stupid no all caps rule in the title.

I like mine with garlic, pepper and butter.

Oh, you mean...

The best ep is the black and white doco one. Absolutely awesome. It's a great show, even as dated as it sometimes feels.

I think that was on only a few weeks ago. That was pretty good. I should consider buying the DVDs.

I tried to fix the capitals for you but it won't let me for some reason.

For like the first time in eight years I actually saw the episode(s) in which Winchester actually comes to be in the show, and it was the last remaining mystery from my childhood, solved.

Now I have nothing left to look forward to. ;_;

What about figuring out why a cat's meow in the darkness causes a tightening in your sphincter, and even the mention of your Uncle Joe makes you break out into a cold sweat? Those mysteries need solving too Aran!

Oh well, thanks anyway.
I find the variation of the themes very interesting. They vary a lot season to season. As most theme songs do. But it's interesting to see how it progresses.

Oh I solved both those mysteries ages ago, turns out Uncle Joe was actually my mother in men's clothing.

I own all 11 seasons (the last season includes the finale) and the original M*A*S*H movie with Donald Sutherland as Hawkeye and Robert Duvall as Frank Burns. Gary Burgoff (Radar) was the only actor that made it from the movie into the series. It even had the character Spearchucker Jones, who was also a doctor, but only got into one or two of the TV episodes.

MASH was really funny up until they wrote Henry Blake out of it. The fact that they killed him off signalled which direction the show was going to go. There was still great episodes, but Colonel Potter wasn't as funny as Blake and Winchester was no Frank Burns.

I think there was a spin off from MASH that had BJ Hunnicut with a deaf Father Mulcahey and Kilnger, but the original actors didn't want to be a part of it so they recast. It kind flopped pretty quickly.

Funny episodes > Serious episodes

Divide 11 seasons by 2 and you get probably 5 seasons of good comedy and half a season's worth of gold.

AfterMASH (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0084969/).

There was also W*A*L*T*E*R (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0203189/).

I have no idea why I know this, seeing as I could never bring myself to watch M*A*S*H in any way. The theme music was just a signal to change the channel.

Did I make a terrible mistake?

Yes. Yes you did.

Here's a bit of trivia for you. The theme from M*A*S*H is actually a song called Suicide Is Painless. The full song (including lyrics) plays in the opening credits for the original movie.

Never knew that MASH had spin off shows. You learn something new everyday. My boyfriend had the dvds and we used to watch random eps when I was over at his house.
