So what games did you snap up but haven't quite gotten around to playing or are halfway through and got distracted by soemthing else? I thought this thread could also help in making suggestions to either hurry up and make a particular game a higher priority or to steer clear from.

I usually have a huge backlog of games. Generally I'll go "That looks good", buy it and not play it for ages. I'm slowly cleaning the backlog.
Just started:
PS2
FF7: Dirge Of Cerebus
PS3
Legendary
Haven't Started
PS2
Every Ratchet & Clank game except for the first two
PS3
Ratchet & Clank: Tools Of Destruction

I'm not even going to dare trying to list all the games I haven't started or have barely played so far. I'm just currently validating my huge backlog of games by telling myself that one day, when me and the wife have kids, I won't be able to complain about not having any games to play when I can't afford to buy new ones. lol.

If I was to count stuff from previous consoles it will take ages to post.
Stuff for the 360:
Red Faction Guerrilla - making my way thru it now
Still need to start:
Call Of Duty - World At War
Midnight Club : LA
Banjoo Kazooie
HAWX
Viva Pinata - Trouble In Paradise
Tomb Raider Underworld
Saints Row 2
Lost Planet
And I have a lot of other games that I go back and play thru again on harder difficulties and to get more achievements

I've got lots. The Wii generally ends up getting shafted even though I buy certain games for it on release day.
Wii
Okami (1 hour in)
Zack & Wiki
deBlob (Haven't started)
MadWorld
Little King's Story (Haven't started)
PS3
Disgaea 3
Demon's Souls
Folklore (One more chapter to go with this however)
360
Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts
I've got about 8 or so titles on the GC I haven't finished as well.
Do any of you use backloggery.com? It's pretty useful for this kind of stuff.

Okami
No More Heroes
Gears Of War
Played Lots But Never Finished
Twilight Princess
Metroid Prime: Hunters

Fairly recently purchased/played but need to be finished
Lost Odyssey

If I ever get through that list, I've got another huge list of stuff from way back that I started and never finished (eg FF12, Resident Evil 4, Disgaea etc)
I know I have unfinished games on PS2 but I'm not going to try and remember the names. On current gen systems:

Far Cry 2
Red Faction Guerilla
Riddick
Red Alert 3
Bully
Banjo Kazooie: N&B
Viking
Tiger Woods 2009
The Orange Box
Oblivion
Lost Planet

MadWorld
Metroid Prime 3
Super Paper Mario
Super Mario Galaxy
Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles
No More Heroes
Zelda Twilight Princess
I have never completed a game on my Wii...and I have some more stuff on my DS and PSP that need playing. I'm a games whore, I buy them on impulse and never bother finishing them.

I don't really put games like Rock Band and Guitar Hero into the 'gameing backlog' pile. I tend to graze through those sorts of games. They're fun just to put on for maybe half hour at a time and, while you can finish the tours and get the achievments or trophies, you can't really finish them. I still play RB and GH, especially with my housemate. So much more fun playing with other people.

What do you mean, of course you can finish RB and GH, just have to FC every song, that's all. >_>

I tend not to buy games if I have others to play. I didn't buy Little Kings Story for $35, Burnout for $15 or the Darkness for whatever cheapasshit price its at for that exact reason.
That and I'm a poor uni student.

Other people here have some huge bad logs though. Makes me feel slightly less bad about myself.

Except that you have less time to play all the extra games you can afford to buy. I miss the 3 month break at the end of the uni year. That was a really good chance to clear the back log.
My Backlog looks like this:
Gamecube:
Fire Emblem
Baiten Kaitos
Wii:
Super Mario Galaxy (played a few hours)
Super Smash Brothers (played a few hours)
Okami
DS:
TWEWY
Chinatown Wars (only played a few hours)
Etrian Odessey 2 (I've only gotten to the 3rd floor of the dungeon)
Xbox 360: I mostly keep on top of 360 games, though I do want to go back to some.
Dirt and Forza 2 (I've only played minimal amounts of these games)
Halo 3 (only half way through on Legendary)
Halo Wars (2nd play through)
Lost Planet (2nd play through)
Fallout 3 (2nd play through with new character)
There's other games I've held off buying since they would just end up on this backlog list.

I'm pretty good at playing through something once I get my hands on it, but then again I tend to be a bit of a completionist so it's more a case of "Which games have I 'finished' but could technically come back to in order to get more unlockables/achievements/trophies."
That said, the only ones I still need to play through full stop are Final Fantasy X, Kingdom Hearts II and Eternal Sonata. I tend to only get into JRPGs when there's a release drought and I've got nothing else to play.
Also, to the two guys who said Braid... get on that! Immediately! And then read the story FAQ when you're done! God, I love that game.

Well I'm currently playing Tales of Vesperia but when the mass release of games comes in the next month or so there is a chance I will put it back on the shelf.
As for the games that are currently on the shelf;
Far Cry 2 (360)
Fallout 3 DLC (360)
Killzone 2 (PS3)
Ghostbusters (PS3)

These two, get into them ASAP! Ghostbusters is any 'child of the 80's' wet-dream come to life (kinda)!! As for FC2, I had that sitting there until I wrote about it in the 'convince me' thread, convincing myself to give it another solid go and.......WOW! I'm soooooo much more into it now than when I got it on release. Just a brilliant game, but best not played for massive stretches, as it DOES get very repetitive.

Add Lost Planet and Civilisation IV to my list. I just couldn't get into Lost Planet, it became very frustrating. Civ 4 seems to hurt my brain, it's far too complicated for me, but I'll try and get into if I'm ever away with nothing to do.

Mass Effect.
Probably played for about 3 hours and was really enjoying it. Since then, every single time I've tried and play it I get interrupted by someone or something. Stupid real life.
Leave me alone and let me play Mass Effect.

I am sad. ;_;
But I know it's on GOG now, so everything turned out okay.
I just play whatever I feel like. Trying to go through a backlog one game at a time is boring. Usually I prefer playing the same thing over and over again anyway.
It's like, if someone gave you a set of challenges in Chess, Checkers, Scrabble, Connect 4, etc, and asked you to go through all the challenges in one game and move onto the next, there's no point. You just crack out whatever you feel like playing. Games aren't books and movies.

With Far Cry I'm about 50% in but can't find the time or effort at the moment to keep going with it. I am of the school of thought that believes it is a good game if you put the effort into it, and right now I can't be bothered.
As for Ghostbusters, it was a promo copy from work which was an awesome score, and I'll pop it in at one point.

Unless, you know, you're playing games that have excellent plot and story and constantly swapping games around would mean that the story of one particular game would impact you less if you're not constantly immersed in it.

Deus Ex is pretty ick on a PS2 controller. You might considering getting it on PC, the spec requirements are so low by modern standards that just about any machine can run it, and if I remember correctly it's only like 10 bucks on Steam.
