I misspelled the name on purpose because threads are boring.

So I just watched the un-aired pilot and unaired 13th ep of Dollhouse.

Pilotwise I think I preferred the one they went with.

I didn't think the 13th ep was going to hold much interest as it was an enclosed storyline, but it was classic Whedon, with it setting up a whole bunch of questions I can almost guarantee he'll never get to answer until the Dollhouse (TV?) movie.

I liked it.

I'm watching it on Fox8, I like what I've seen so far, even if its not the best tv ever.

I'll never forgive it for getting renewed over Sarah Connor Chronicles!

Unless they of course cast Glau into the next season, whereby its 13 episodes of her lezzing out with Dushku.

Now that's compelling viewing.

They should cast her as the first nude active who is nude.

Being nude will be her thing.

Stevorooni

They should mislead us by introducing her as some other minor character who is later revealed to be a doll

They would never do such a thing!

There was to much packed into the unaired pilot.

The epitah was not bad but some of the acting was pretty shit.

She'll start out as Margaret the peppy secretary who is later revealed to be a sleeper doll called Uniform.

"I'd wear that uniform if you know what I mean"

Unless it's Firefly, that thing was sh*t hot from the get go.

Yup. Frankly I'm disappointed with the rather mediocre (so far) Dollhouse.

I mean how the hell do you go from Firefly to Dollhouse?

Still, I'll give it a chance and watch a full season. So far I think the show if pretty shameful and full of generic cliched situations and characters. The only enjoyment I've had is perving at Eliza in her 10,000 outfits. You got that in buffy, along with story, characters and other stuff that made it enjoyable.

I'm reminded of when you watch a crap film that everybody says is "good". You get to about the half way mark, thinking "it could still be good" but then you realise that it's not, and it's not getting any better, then you just feel dirty for being optimistic in the first place.

The fact it's airing on Fox should make you worried for the second season.

We've got an unlikey 5 seasons or so before the world has to end.

I didn't like new crazy Whiskey, but her storyline was probably the most interesting. Gave Topher some credibility too.

I really don't understand Firefly love. Watched the whole season and the movie and both... well it didn't bore me to tears but it was fairly forgettable.
Dollhouse I felt was the same, but it got a lot better at the end. Episode 13 was great and the first episode of season 2 shows a lot of promise too.

Lazlow: Sarah Connor was fantastic at the end too, but out of the whole second season, only the last five episodes were worth watching, and a couple that were well written stand alones. The rest of it was filler.

I'm a big fan of Whedon, so unless he's done something terribly 'un-whedon' for Dollhouse, then I'd say it's a worthy watch. I just picked up series 1 (UK edition) off Ebay for $44. Looking forward to it, as I haven't seen any of the show yet!

For anyone interested, I got mine off Ebay for $45 ($10 exp. post) and the local ones floating around are dual-region-coded.

*fingers in ears - la la la la la*

Still, I'll give Dollhouse a fair go on DVD - even though I find it pretty bland and inoffensive so far. Especially after watching Dr Horrible (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dr._Horrible%27s_Sing-Along_Blog) this week on a big screen via my brothers laptop, just reminds me how good Whedon can be.

Does anyone think the best actor in this show is Victor? Every role he does is brilliant. The last episode they implant a serial killer into him, he mirrors the actual killer so goddam well

Amy Acker is also great so far in series 2.

I believe the risk of Dollhouse getting canceled has little to do with Fox and more to do with the quality of the show.

If it didn't have Whedon's name attached, it wouldn't have made it past the pilot (where it should have stayed)
