Many migrants really haven't "advanced" themselves anyway, they just moved their culture over to here and joined together with out society, so the whole society 'advanced', if you will.

That's just looking at it very superficially though. It's like saying "Both groups are human but in most cases one only seems to go forward."

Not to mention it's an unfair comparison given that broadly speaking, immigrants leave their poor conditions for more favourable conditions in Australia, whereas many indigenous people still live very much in third world conditions. Would you expect to be able to 'advance' if you lived in what was essentially a slum with endemic alcoholism and violence?

Many immigrants come from wealthy backgrounds, making them 'advanced' before they even get here.

I don't get the comparison between immigrants and indigenous Australians anyway, their situations are completely different with the only common link being that their skin may be a different colour.
