You like games, right? Perhaps you also like the occasional spot of anime? Might you also be a fan of music? Well, step this way, friend, because we've got quite the deal for you.
Eminence is coming to the Sydney Entertainment Centre on Saturday 26 September, 2009, performing for one night only. Tickets are already on sale, but why pay money like a chump when you can go for free?
We've got ten double passes to A Night in Fantasia 2009 to give away, and ten lucky forum members will score one. And not just any double passes, but A reserve seats worth $95 a pop.
Want to know more about the show? The official spiel reads thusly:
Featuring a full Symphony Orchestra, a mind blowing choir, special guest performers and boasting a score of popular tracks from the worlds of video games and anime, ‘A Night in Fantasia 2009’ is being billed as the biggest, boldest and best concert in the ‘A Night in Fantasia’ series to ever be held.
A Night in Fantasia 2009 will feature a host of special guest stars who will fly in from the USA and Japan specially to be involved in this epic event.
“We are really looking forward to presenting A Night in Fantasia 2009 as it’s going to be such a huge event, featuring so many wonderful pieces of music, musicians, world class composers and other special guests,” commented Hiroaki Yura, Founder and Director of Eminence Artists.
The concert will feature a score of arrangements - many of them as originally done by the composers – spanning the games and anime genres, with a focus on western music not before seen in the ‘A Night in Fantasia’ series.
The score of tracks to be performed include AFRIKA, Ace Combat V, Darksiders: Wrath of War, Dragon Age: Origins, Metal Gear Solid, Prince of Persia, Red Alert 3, Shadow of the Colossus and a wide range of anime titles, including Astro Boy (which will hit cinemas in September), Studio Ghibli, Totora, Laputa, Princess Monoke, Deathnote, Steamboy and many, many more…
Sound pretty good? Want to wrap your hands around one of those double passes? Awesome. Here's what we want you to do:
Create a video of yourself playing a game or anime theme, upload it to YouTube, and post it in this thread. (And so we're sure you made it for us, have a copy of Hyper visible at some point in the video.)
How you do this is entirely up to you. You can play it on a guitar, on a harmonica, or with coconut shells. You can play it with a line of glasses filled up with different levels of water, with spoons, or on the bald head of your next door neighbour. Make a level in LittleBigPlanet if you like. If you want to sing it, that's cool too. Basically, anything goes, so have some fun with it. We'll be picking the best ten based on musical talent and creativity.
Entries will close at 12:01am on September 1, 2009.
Good luck!
