Capital Wastelanders take note: the final - according to Bethseda - DLC for Fallout 3 has dropped from the sky in the form of Mothership Zeta.
Unfortunately, after the essential Broken Steel and expansive Point Lookout, MZ has been reviewing a bit poorly. Eurogamer outright hated on it, putting it down the bottom of F3 DLC with the panned Operation Anchorage.
Given I've still The Pitt and Point Lookout to get through, no plans here to get MZ. Hopefully they are hard at work making Fallout New Vegas a more balanced game.

I still have a long way to go to finish the main game itself :(

You mean making the next Elder Scrolls, because Obsidian's developing New Vegas :p.

Well that's a bit disappointing, I was really looking forward to it. Are there any links to these reviews?

New Elder Scrolls would make me so very happy.

zeta is very boring. its just basically a run and gun shooter. not worth the 800ms points at all. buy splosion man instead

Do any of these expansions (Other than broken steel) come with any more perks? Or rather, do I need to buy them to get cool perks before I max out my character?
New Elder Scrolls would make me so very happy.This. It could basically be Oblivion 1.5 and I'd buy it. Just fix the leveling and the dated graphics and animations.

So none of the DLC is worth it then? Maybe I should just sell my copy.

I'm loving Point Lookout at the moment. I can come and go as I please, which is nice.
Zeta is kinda cool. Great if you're in to energy weapons.
Operation Anchorage is kinda shitty, but at the end you get some crazy OP stuff. Great if you go there straight out of the vault (or after getting the Int Bobblehead :P).
Haven't done the Pit yet.
Broken Steal extends the main storyline AFAIK, so that's always a nice purchase, plus it ups the level cap.

I wish they'd patch the game to make the amount of xp earned per kill much lower, so you level up less frequently.

I'm two levels below hitting the level 30 cap. I'm tempted to pick MZ up just to get there, since I've done everything else. I might leave it for a while though. Having played the OA, TP , BS and PL in the last couple of months, I'm done with fallout for a while.

Broken steel and point look out certainly are!

EXP comes flying out the nose in MZ. You'd get to level 30 before you could figure out you've been abducted.

I second this statement. Point Lookout is brilliant.

Just finished up Point Lookout. It's pretty great. Wouldn't have minded another quest or two in the zone though.

Just make sure you seek out all the places on your little compass where you see a triangle (that isn't coloured in) as you can often find secondary quests there.

I finished up the main storyline last night, but got the final locations and completed the last of the secondary quests before. It's my fav thus far. I might go do The Pitt shortly.

The Pitt is really special. The quests are very interesting and share little similarities with the main quests from Fallout 3, the characters are compelling and the extra weapons doled out to you (awesome rotating saw blade thing-y :D) are fantastic.

Out of the first four, I would have to say Point Lookout is far and away the best. The Pitt and Broken Steel are pretty similar in terms of appeal, with Operation Anchorage a little ways behind (it was fun to plow through at the time but I certainly haven't thought about it since).
I guess I will get around to playing this one sometime, if only because it seems silly to have come this far only to stop.

From memory, the GOTY edition comes out in October. If you've waited this long to play Fallout 3, you can wait another two months to get everything.

I know this is an incredibly dated response, but I'm pretty sure you can download addons for all three of those categories.
Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul is the main one (http://www.oscurogamedesign.com/down-game-ooo-high.html)

I have fallout 3, just none of the add ons. If there is no disk with all 5 content i think ill just trade my fallout for the game of the year edition. Having them all together will relax my OCD any way :) actually think i might start a new character in preperation for it ! Maybe this time ill be a good guy lol

There are two disks that have been released with some of the content on them, but from what I can remember Mothership Zeta is download or GOTY only. So yeah, you are probably best off trading in your copy for the GOTY edition.
