A while back I made a thread in a marketplace on another forum selling a PS3 I had won. Many people seemed surprised I've had the luck I've had . . . I wonder if anyone has had some sweet winnings from contests other than myself. So far I've won:
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_qQq7IsRuilM/Sn-NE7TXVnI/AAAAAAAAAjM/QbOFuOT6dBA/s800/P1030131.JPG
50" Samsung HP-S5053 Plasma
MSRP: $3000
http://lh5.ggpht.com/_qQq7IsRuilM/Sn-NDPntdtI/AAAAAAAAAjE/xJG0Go4SNr4/s720/P1030124.JPG
Just won this last week. Carry Audio Xciter DAC
MSRP: $1500
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_qQq7IsRuilM/Sn-NEExXc-I/AAAAAAAAAjI/jYUSSDfwkXo/s720/P1030130.JPG
Won this a while ago. Custom painted CM Stacker 832 Aluminum. As you can see, it was custom done for ATI featuring leather clad Ruby on the side.
MSRP: $1000
Other stuff:
80GB PS3 (sold) MSRP: $400
Killer NIC M1 (sold) MSRP: $250
HD4830 (sold) MSRP: $130
HD4670 (selling) MSRP: $80
Skate 360 (sold) MSRP: $60
This doesn't include super small things I've won like food, gift cards, etc. All in all a haul of over $6420 USD worth the goods.
So, who else out there is a "winner"? :p

Jesus christ, how do you manage to win all that stuff?
The only thing that comes to mind that I've won was years ago when a local radio station ran a competition for a new cinema opening. I won 4 tickets to see a movie (the Lost In Space remake, which was average) and a minute in their lolly shop where I could grab as much as possible. I think I ended up with three large popcorn boxes full of Fantales, then made the mistake of going for lollies that stuck together and were harder to get out of their containers. Oh, and the bottom fell out of the popcorn box when I tried to fill it with Smarties.

The only thing I have ever won was some Ferngully diorama, with all the characters from the animated movie from the early 90s.
If that's not bad enough, the prize was addressed to "Christina"... People have misspelt my name in many different ways, but that would have to be the worst.

I won a PS3 60gb back when they were backwards compatible and sold it on here for about a grand. That's pretty much it though. Oh and I won some free tix to see district 9 which I'm going to see tonight.

Jesus christ, how do you manage to win all that stuff?
I enter obscure online contests funded my larger companies. For example only 60K entered the TV competition. Sure . . . that's a lot. But consider the odds of winning something substantial from a McDonald's or Pepsi/Coke contest and you see the odds are amazing in comparison. There were also a lot more prizes like a 40" LCD, 20x 360s, and a bunch of other stuff.
. . . Oh, and the bottom fell out of the popcorn box when I tried to fill it with Smarties.
Ouch, bittersweet winnings.

I've had my last name misspelled "Crap" before. Kropf is apparently a bitch to spell right.
. . . Oh and I won some free tix to see district 9 which I'm going to see tonight.
That doesn't get released till Friday here, can't wait to see it :)

This year alone I've won The Conduit (Wii), Halo Wars Special Edition (360), a 10kg block of Cadburys from a raffle and $1500 from Reader's Digest. Plus a mouse pad from Rare which is still on its way. It's been a good year for winning stuff.
I've won Pokemon Ruby and a Barry Manilow CD. Only gay prizes so far.

I still ended up with 3 large popcorn boxes of Fantales. I put all the wrappers together to make one long Fantale wrapper and read it from start to finish.

Pretty much it; you've got to be in it to win it.
The bigger question Vicious; how good is your strike rate?
You've won a few prizes, but how many comp's do you enter, and how many have resulted in no success?
Myself, apart from a few minor Lotto wins, and some bets on the nags, I won a V-Rally + Dual Analog pack from Official Australian Playstation Mag. However when the game was released they had removed dual analog support, so the mag swapped the controller with a Negcon. Think I also won Vigilante 8 through the same mag as well.

I once entered a pub draw for a barbecue and outdoor furniture, then went and got drunk at the pub next door. My name was drawn while I was away, and I wasn't there to collect it so they re-drew.
That's pretty much the closest I've ever come to winning something substantial.

Let's see . . . I'd say twenty-five or so. I just use an auto form mostly though so I only spend seconds entering.

where does one find out about said competitions? i never enter anything. i did win a mountain bike in year 6 though, which was too big for me so i grew into it. it lasted till a couple of years ago. was the best win ever. other than that i really haven't entered much other than a few charity raffles to win a car.

I won a guess-the-number-of-jelly-beans competition once. The prize was the jelly beans.
And I won a 2v2 Guitar Hero competition at an EB in the city during the WotLK midnight launch.
I won a $50 EB voucher once.

In Year 7 I won a $50 surf shop (why does Broken Hill have a surf shop?) voucher in an art competition. The voucher got lost somewhere so they just gave me $50 cash, which went towards buying Pokemon Stadium on the N64.

I won a Phantom Kevlar badminton racket in a badminton competition once. I was very pleased with myself. Then about a year later I smashed it in a rage :(
My cousin won 200,000 pounds in the UK lottery once. Never even bought me a beer. Cheapskate!
Remember that show The Big Arvo? They had comps where you'd draw a picture, and the 5 best would win an XBOX and some associated prizes.
I entered twice, and won two XBOXes. You could only enter if you were under 18, but most of my competitors would have been about 12. Still, no luck there, all skill.

Ooh I've won some stuff in my time.
Radical Rex on Snes with a Radical Rex Skateboard (I still have it!) - From Gamestar Magazine before it was buried by Hyper
A couple of comics - Runner up prize from NMS
Grandstream Saga on PSOne - From Hyper but the game was unavailable so I got Spyro, Ridge Racer Type 4 and Running Wild instead
12 month subscription to Hyper - From the old Hyperactive website
Spiderman: The movie: The Game on PS2 - From the old Hyperactive website
Mashed: PS2 - I think that was from Hyper
Soul Reaver 2 on PS2 - From the website that atari.com used to be before it changed to atari. I think I also won Stuntman and Timesplitters 2 DEMO DISCS (they must have been hard up for prizes!) from there
Some PS2 fishing game I have to someone as a gift - Hyper
E3 Access 2004 DVD - Won in the Hyperactive Forums Olympics after someone offered it up as a prize for some reason.
Children of Mana (DS) - nintendo.com.au - played it once, hated it, never played it since
GRAW2 (360) - Evolution Forums
Golden Axe Beast Rider (360) - Australian Gamer - Not sure if I'm grateful for that one! It did come with a cool artwork book though.
A Mighty Wind - DVD - From aubergine's Fantastic Voyage. I still haven't watched it but just looking at the DVD I noticed it has a sticker with his name on it on the spine.
I also won a chicken in a chook raffell once as well.
That's all I can remember but there may be more.

I used to win the colouring in competitions for the kids section a fair bit back when I was a kid. In fact, so much so that there mustn't have been very many entering.
I did win one of those spider-man web shooting gloves once. that was cool.
now someone link me to these online compo's! please.

From Hyper itself I won a wireless mouse, a copy of Animal Crossing DS, that was sent because the mouse took so long to arrive (that was awesome) and a copy of Mario and Luigi 2. Cam still owes me one of those Hyper shirts.

Growing up, 501 had all the new game consoles as they came out. Gameboy brick, snes, n64, and I was lucky to have got an atari 2600, (which, I mostly wasn't even allowed to play).
I went on a radio competition, won an n64 with star wars pod racer for doing a yoda impersonation on the radio.
Was feeling pretty good about it too, until 501 won an n64 with 10 games on a diff radio station, then sold the unit and most of the games, to buy new games. ;)

Apart from money from school and things like that, I've won a copy of Asrtro Boy on GBA and Chrono Trigger on DS from some magazine. Not too bad, not too great. Most online competitions seem to be designed around persuading me into thinking that a stupid response will be the most effective. It never is. And then the reverse occurs.

I won the new Call of Juarez not long ago through the Hyperactive Lounge... although I did have to take out the comp in a deathmatch to do so.
Other than that, nothing... except for when my mum used to volunteer to call the easter raffle at school and rig it so I always won something. Bless her soul.

Both comps of skill because I don't win shit in games of chance. This is part of the reason I gave up WoW. I'm pretty sure I was the unluckiest person to ever type /roll.

I won an M&M's Red dispenser when I was like, six. You pulled his arm down and M&M's came out.
Scored a copy of Turok Rage Wars on N64 from the old Playnow! site. Not sure if it's still around. Was a pretty awesome game too!
Lets see... I won an E3-exclusive Gears of War 360 Faceplate a couple of years ago off the official Xbox 360 forums.
And today I won a copy of the new 360 Wolfenstein from the same site.

I won a copy of Crash of the Titans (yay...) from the hyper mag with my suggested Platformer character: A Walrus with gold tusks, for street cred.
Won two comps at PALGN, only one prize ever showed up, a Warhammer Online guide. The prize that never showed I don't remember what is was. My entry for the Warhammer comp:
http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/908/warishellxh5.png
had to draw a pic of what I expected to see in the game, that date was the WotLK release.
Best prize i won was when I was in year 2 and I won 3 big ass boxes of toys from an xmas drawing comp. I drew a yellow snowman...
EDIT: Just remembered the other Palgn prize was a Bioshock art book + shirt. Damn I wished I actually got that now :(
