Great to see it getting this big. I'm in contact with a few top players around Adelaide now, so we might head in that direction soon too. :D
EDIT: I might be going with some AVCon folk.

As much as I'd like to go, I'm jumping ship on this to attend eGames / iDEF. EVAC members will be there, however.
It's cool. We'll have a setup and some comps going on there as well. :)

Great, I'll be heading in with AVCon / With The Band. But will most likely see you around the place.
Sweet as, I'm moving over on Sunday to Melbourne so assuming work doesn't send me to Sydney before then I'm totally in!

Don't know if this has changed since your post, but the site lists as follows:
-------------------------------
Pre-registration
Pre-registration is now open!
Pre-registration will close on the 30th of September, but we recommend you get in early to help us better organise the event and it's timetable.
We highly recommend pre-registration and pre-payment as not only will it help you on the day to get in quicker (there will be a seperate line for pre-registered players), but it will also help us timetable the tournaments and make the event run much better for everyone.
-----------------------------
A friend is going to BAM and since he's going I will also be attending. Thinking of entering SSFIV and VF#5 events, because I'm no good at Tekken, and hopefully we'll be going in for a SSFIV Team event as well.

The building itself has accomodation, upstairs from the event
See this page of the couch warriors site, because you can get a discount (rooms are $159 - 179 after discount)
http://www.couchwarriors.org/bam/about.php
and the actual place (CQ) site is here:

don't ask me about availability, buy they have shitloads of rooms, so at least take a look - seeing as it's in the same building it's the best place to stay - unless you know someone. Luckily my bro goes to uni about 20 mins from city, so I crash on the floor at his place for $0.

Yeah I was aware of CQ and I have gotten a room for atleast most of my stay, spent half the day on hold because of the Grand Final next week.

There's been an update to the site saying that MVC#3 will NOT be featured at BAM, bugger.
So if anyone was going to get there at 9am on Sunday to register for it - sleep in instead!
Given SSFIV goes until late late on Sat night I'm not going to complain.

I'll be attending, driving over with some other Adelaide dudes. Just going for the 3S tourny pretty much, not entering anything else.

3S tournament was awesome. First round was sick, went up against Gavin (who I think made top 4 or something) and first match, lost but I feel like I held my own really well. Second match with him he must've figured me out or something coz I got slaughtered. Next I played some random crap player, owned him. I did feel kinda jipped when I got eliminated though because I had a lot of issues with the stick I was using. Parries didn't come out, got jump instead of block, a random super (seriously no idea how it came out) and twice I got stand strong xx SAIII instead of Ken's target combo xx SAIII which cost me a round after I full parried a shoryu. This is by no means a criticism of the event though because that's just what I get for having bad adaptability/not bringing my own stick (I don't have a good PS2 stick, I play 3S on MAME). Now that I think about it, it was a really good effort to get that many PS2 sticks together at one event at all. And besides, even if I was on my own stick I probably would've lost that match anyway (Nick's Ken is better than mine, afterall).
Really awesome top eight. Was genuinely suprised to see that Australia still has so many good players. Really wasn't expecting former SBO contenders Kechu and Akira to show up. I'm guessing that the top eight videos will appear on Couch Warriors' youtube sooner or later, and are worth checking out. Other 3S casuals and tournament footage are on my youtube www.youtube.com/Jessemarble
I can't really comment on any other aspect of the event because my focus was on 3S the entire time. Other than the venue being very hot and stuffy. But yeah, great weekend, see you next year 'n shit.

Yeah, it did get uncomfortably hot in there, you could almost start a Hakan style wrestling match by the end of Sunday with that temperature.
Man I loved the event, went mainly for casual games and because a friend who goes to Couch Warriors invited me to go. Entered in SFIV singles, VF5 singles and SC4 singles, lost pretty much everything - but did win my first match in VF5 with Wolf.
Got to play some casual matches of Capcom VS Snk 2 - first time I've played against anyone on that game and I won most of the fights. (have not played this game much at all, but have played a lot of alpha/zero series and KOF 95-2000 so knew the move set etc)
Only started playing against some people on SSFIV at previous Couch Warriors event, other than that it's been ten years or so since I've had anyone to play fighting games with.
I stayed on the Saturday from about 10 in the morning till 11:30 at night and Sunday from 9am till around 7pm. If BAM is on next year I may book some accomodation in the city so I can stay later on both nights.
Hopefully I'll get some practice in at more Couch Warriors meets, and stand a better chance of winning more matches. I've only just started playing SSFIV and most players at casuals at BAM beat me pretty good.
For the comps I went Gouki in SSFIV, Wolf in VF5 and Mitsurugi in SC4 (I don't play SC4, but entered into it seeing as my mate had asked me to, and the numbers would have been odd if I didn't stay in it).
Main highlight for me was just meeting some good people who are passionate about games, and learning from them etc. I'm not really a competitive player, but I'll play pretty much any fighting game if I have someone to play against - but I still prefer the 2D fighters overall.
Favourite games being: KOF 98, SF Zero 3, Darkstalkers 3, Rival Schools, Samurai Showdown, Last Blade, Cap vs SNK 2, SSFIV.
The other highlight of BAM was me was that I got to meet Grimace from the forums (did not previously know him) and we played some fun matches of VF5 and Tekken 6 together.
