Anyone interested in this game? I've been reading up on it - looks really pretty, sounds pretty fun. Never having invested much time in an MMO, it's an experience I'd like to try at least once, and this appeals more to me than WoW. Uses the first CryEngine, apparently.

I'm kind of interested in this because the setting seems interesting, but I'm worried that it will suffer Korean MMO Disease.
If the rumours about Tauren Paladins are true, though, I'll probably be looking for a new MMO.

What mainly gets me interested is the art style and general prettiness, as graphics-whorish as that sounds.

I've heard it's WoW crossed with Lineage. WoWish classes, playstyle and ease, but looks pretty like Lineage II.

Was in the open beta. Enjoyed what I played. It's at least as good as the starting areas of Burning Crusade.

I played on the Chinese servers for a bit. They call it "Tower of Bot" since every second player you stumbled across was actually AI :p
Managed to level a cleric to 30 before giving up due to terrible latency which results in pulling off chain combos in slo-mo. Also was in the US closed beta, ping was very respectable (more so with WoW Tunnels), virtually no delay.
The gameplay is pretty solid and looks amazing. Have pre-ordered CE, looking forward to seeing the changes in v1.5

* 3 factions = gay
* characters with wings = generic mmo idea, also gay.
* too many techno vibes... needs to be more stylised and realismz.
I'll think of more later.

Don't forget the custom extreme bloom!

Seems as good a reason as any to be interested in something.

Pfft. That would make me go back to WoW.

Yeah i'd be tempted to reroll my pally.
Looks interesting, considering giving it a month trial if i can find people to play with.

I gave up on that mod around 4 days ago after i got tired of pushing shift+f12 to load it up in-game.

Orc's cant be two races... Thats like orb of deception or something, which i happen to have looted from the rare guy in feralas.

Yes, but I'll assume your post contained no sarcasm.

i can't see there being enough interest in the west for this to build enough popularity and compete with the wow machine. honestly the only game that might come close to gaining popularity is the new star wars mmo. which kinda sucks because wow needs some strong competition. who knows this might kick off with a bang.

because WoW is really quite awful
the new Star Wars one looks promising, otherwise its slim pickings

Wolf and I got into open beta to try it out. Servers are ****ed though and lag makes it impossible to achieve anything.

But of course, all MMOs must hold your interest for at least a decade otherwise they're shit, amirite?
Even if you, like me, are bored with it, it's still a damn good game.

Picked this up today. It's... interesting. The play mechanics are very much like other NCSoft titles, and it's very pretty.
One really nice feature this game has (and Guild Wars had it, too) that I really wish WoW would have is a 'default nuke' for casters. Basically this means that when you start attacking an enemy, a caster always fires a nuke from their equipped weapon, rather than meleeing it like in WoW.
If I had to criticise anything in this game, it would be the ridiculous gold-seller spam in the chat channels. The chat channels are all completely unusable on my server due to constant, several-times-a-second gold-seller spam. It's utterly ridiculous.

Graphical upgrades, other things in Aion's future. (http://kotaku.com/5411529/is-this-the-future-of-aion)
Pity the game will still utterly suck, though.

Have they fixed the massive lag and queueing problems that were reported here?

I've been playing for about a month and a half and I'm still really enjoying it.
There hasn't been a single queue for me in over a month, and I don't have much issue with lag (I use a tunnel service though). The chat spam is at about the same level as WoW now (i.e. far less frequent).
There are many bots though. Many, many bots. I heard they had some mass bot bannings a day or two ago though, so it might be better now.
