To this day I'm not sure why but from a young age I developed an affection for late night TV infomercials, in particular ones promoting cooking products.

It could be that I have fond memories of being 11 staying up late, me and a friend fueled by salty and sugary snacks trying to be up all night.

It could be that everyone always looks so darn happy in infomercials; everyone’s smiling everyone’s amazed by how sharp that knife is or by how revolutionary this new product is.

It could be cause I like watching steroid pumped ex-weightlifters die a little inside each time they promote a new product to "tighten your buns and thighs."

In any case, anybody else like staying up late and watching ads for the miracle blade, the magic bullet or the Rock Ballads Collection?

Mr. T's is the best of the best.

I remember a few years ago there was an infomercial for tapes and/or books that would help increase your memory and for months it would be on channels 7, 9 and 10 at the same time.

I'm really enjoying the topsy turvee one at the moment.

Seeing the lady fondle the tomatoes growing upsidown in some crazy bag makes me bar up a little.

It is all the more hilarous because aside from spouting the catch phrase the guy who plays Mr T isn't even in character.

I wonder if anyone remembers he was born Laurence Tureaud anymore.

I recommend the Miracle Blade 3 with every once of my soul. I guarantee it's effectiveness, it's so sharp and easy to cut with, I circumcised by son with it and he didn't even feel a thing and cry!

Someone should post the Cornballer Infomercial for Arrested Development.

Japanese infomercials are just... off-the-wall batshit insane. They're often far more entertaining than the programs they're interrupting.

I'll try and capture one with my camera and upload it.

Totally bought one of these back in the day. The current state of my abs are testament to the immediacy in which the device was put underneath my bed and forgotten about.

lolNobody plays Mr. T, that's the man's name. Mr. T is an actor who played B.A Baracus on the A-Team, and Clubber Lang in Rocky III. He may be a self-parody by modern standards, but he isn't in character because he isn't playing one.

****ing kids.

Ouch embarrassing... :p

But in my defense "Mr T" is a character of sorts, even if it's only an exaggerated version of himself, kind of like a presenter they enhance and suppress aspects of thier personalities to create the "David Letterman" we see on television. I'm sure he doesn't behave like Mr T at home.

Whilst we're on the subject why is Laurence Tureaud nick named Mr T? ....Or is it the obvious reason?

I have to admit than in the days before "DVDs" and "money" were invented, I did watch a certain Chuck Norris exercise product infomercial MORE THAN A FEW TIMES.

But I've had counselling since, so am on the way to recovery.

And I hear George Foreman is good in everything, especially in a grill.

Infomercials are entertainment so good you can't buy them with money or on DVD. :D
