It's cool seeing what RE2 would have looked like if they had bothered to remake it. I GUESS THEY KINDA DID!

Shoot'em up style. Chapter 2 in the RE:Chronicle series. Saw some of the gameplay footage, shooting zombies is never boring.

Good to know that a decent RE franchise (although it's just on rails shooter game) on the Wii.

Even Wesker makes an appearance.

In fact RE6 will probably have you playing as a Wesker clone partnered with a Wesker clone killing other Wesker clones.

Anyway Darkside Chronicles is looking good, I still haven't gotten through the final level in Umbrella Chronicles. I should give it a go with my HotDO gun shells.

You forgot the Wesker clone that shows as much cleavage as possible as often as possible.

Silly comments aside, I'm really looking forward to this one. Umbrella Chronicles was OK, but it looks like this time around they're fixing what was wrong with the first.

I just finished it with all S ranks last night (unlimited ammo ftw). Sadly the HotDO guns are pretty useless with it if you like to pick up stuff.

Umbrella Chronicles was OK, but it looks like this time around they're fixing what was wrong with the first.

Apparently they've added a lot of camera shake that can be distracting.

I bought the Umbrella Chronicles but I was pretty disappointed with the way the target on the screen had a delay in movement and really sapped the fun right out of it. I don't know if that was a flaw of the game or just a limitation of the remote. Hopefully they fixed that for this release.

Just playing through RE2 on the GameCube again.

Cheesy but still fun. I know Capcom will cash in and remake it at some point down the road, I just wish it was now.

I'll eat my hat if they release it as a "Archives" title as is. Surely they'd at least pack it in with 3.

They need to make the remakes as widescreen though. If they are too lazy to re-render the graphics in 16:9 then they could at least utilise the rest of the screen for an inventory screen.

I've actually only played Resident Evils 0, 1, 4, 4ii, & UC.

And I'd prefer if it were released on an HD console or PC.

Shit that looks fantastic. I know nothing about the RE storyline but I don't care, I want it! Even if seeing Krauser walk slowly with his pistol raised from an over-the-shoulder view makes me want a new RE4ii-powered game :(

Looks pretty good too me. Not that I really care for a 5wii version anymore. Its chance passed long ago.

Just started Umbrella Chronicles today and from what I have played its left me psyched for this game and made me more interested in Dead Space Extraction too. Guess on rails games still have their place after all.

I agree Blob. I got Umbrella Chronicles last week and am so far enjoying the experience. I was a bit worried that on-rails would take away a lot of the fun but that's not the case just yet. I'd still like full-fledged versions of games like RE and Dead Space, but so far UC has proven that there is room for other takes on the genre.

I've almost finished playing through Extreme Battle Mode in Resident Evil 2 GCN.

I never got that far! Although I did finish RE1 on the hardest difficulty (Survivor mode I think) a couple of times.

It's cool, Capcom have made it easier to get headshots unlike in the Umbrella Chronicles where you have to get it at just the right spot on their foreheads.

The Umbrella Chronicles sapped god damn 50 hours outta me, all which I didn't mind paying; I think my hair'll be torn out long before the Darkside Chronicles is released. The South America chapter has got my attention the most, whether it'll close gaps in the story or open up more instead; but I do find it intruiging how the best and worst Resident Evil games have both been remade and shoved onto the same DVD. Thankfully Steve doesn't sound annoying, I probably wouldn't have been able to bare playing through the Code Veronica chapter again if that weren't the case.

What idiot hired that voice actor anyway? It's good that they've changed it. Not only did he sound like a tool I kept on expecting him to say, "Hey! Sexy lady..." followed by "Alright!" followed by a nerd giggle. Surely no one thought he was cool? The tool even wastes ammo in one of the cutscenes!

Yes, all I've heard is that The Darkside Chronicles is far better than The Umbrella Chronicles. It's like a (Resident Evil) completionists wet dream too, what with 200 collectibles and all. Then again I say that about every game that has collectibles in them which doesn't involve copious amounts of time wasting exploring.

That and it looks very pretty for a Wii title... and Tofu aswell.

It's a lil bit expensive though. When Umbrella Chronicles launched I bought it for around $33 imported from the UK. And this one is launching at about $60.

I don't have an issue with that. I'm confident The Umbrella Chronicles only recently had a price drop from the $100 mark in local retailers. Or maybe it's still around that margin; or no where near it, either one.

Well locally it'll probably be released at $100. The $60 I quoted is import. It's pretty steep for an on-rails shooter. Umbrella Chronicles only gave me about 3 nights of entertainment.

Played for a couple of hours today, being close to the end of the RE2 scenario.

So far the only crappy thing about RE:DSC are the shitty boss fights, involving the smallest areas to shoot prevent them from knocking the crap out of your health bar.

Plus on normal it seems to be a tad easier than the original.
