Hey guys. Just thought I'd resurrect this thread. The new issue is only a week or two away but we've just put up the latest PixelCast for your listening pleasure.

I think this is a much tighter and more entertaining episode, so please have a listen and let us know what you think.

Oh, the participants are myself, Tim Henderson and Ken Lee.

Link to this episode's topic list (http://pixelhunt.com.au/index.php?action=fullnews&showcomments=1&id=241)

Run your vocals through a compressor to even out the dips/peaks in volume and bring out a lil more clarity. Also roll off any frequencies below 120Hz.

Just looked at the topic list, noticed you had housethegreat - Walk on Water, and wanted to listen to it even more because I love that remix! >_>

Thanks. Tim handled all the sound stuff this time so I'll pass it on.

Hobo, yes it has! That's because we all do it for free and have day jobs that seem to have interrupted more than usual this cycle. The new issue is actually about 90% complete so look for it in a couple of weeks.

Just listened to it then, completely enjoyed the whole thing, and when you guys started talking about Scribblenauts and the subsequent tangents about what people did in Drawn To Life and such I had to try my hardest not to burst out laughing on the train and have people look at me weird!

The DS screens were unfortunately something we had to roll with as we didn't have time to redesign the template for vertical screens. I'm not particularly happy with it either but it was either roll with this for Christmas or hold it back a couple of weeks until everyone was back from holidays etc.

We've got some tech stuff in the next issue. Some Plantronics headsets.

http://www.pixelhunt.com.au/phpnews/images/Games%20of%202010%20coverfornews.jpg

All that's required is a $1 minimum donation to unlock the issue (60+ pages). This is the only issue we'll ask money for this year as we're just hoping to cover some running costs.

Hey all, our new website has launched and I think you'll agree that it's a big improvement.

The largest change is that game and film reviews will now be appearing online, with the ezine reserved for features, opinions and more of the expected shenanigans.

Another major addition is the accrual of PixelPoints. You gain these for all your actions on the site - posting, rating articles, creating threads etc. Every few weeks we will run virtual raffles where you can trade you points for tickets to win prizes.

Hope you like - www.pixelhunt.com.au

Downloaded the valentines podcast recently (As a research thing).

* Felt like it ended without closing.
* Music broke up conversation poorly, was not lead into.
* Some facts were false (ie; PSP Go would be better if there was an App store. PSP has the PSN Store and PSP Minis.)

* Felt like it ended without closing.

Maybe. The point of the discussions is to chew on some thoughts rather than to try and resolve them a lot of time time, but #12 did kind of wrap up on a whim that was mostly concerned with timing.

* Music broke up conversation poorly, was not lead into.

Music segue is a tricky thing. Was it a little too smoothly disguised in this case? Personally, I was kind of happy with it, but PixelCast 13 has more direct lead-in. Let us know if it works any better?

* Some facts were false (ie; PSP Go would be better if there was an App store. PSP has the PSN Store and PSP Minis.)

Perhaps this could have been better expanded? The basic idea is ease of access - you can flick out your iPhone and download a bunch of stuff almost anywhere, and anyone can do it. Whereas the Go, on the other hand, feels far more capricious and is a lot more fiddly.

Well, the Go's PSN store is no different from what the PSP1~3000 has. We're really only going to get that mobile phone level of ease once Sony & Nintendo (Maybe Microsoft) look into 3G (Or better) networks. Even then, will we be on a contract like a mobile phone?

I've yet to use a DSi, but I'm guessing that the process for making an account on the unit, signing into the store and purchasing content is very similar to what the PSP series has.

I think the one before that, with Eliot Fish, was perhaps our best so far, if you're still in a research mood :P

Haven't checked in on this for a while but it's good to see reviews shunned almost entirely for primarily opinion articles now (not sure how long that's been going, I'll look at a couple of back issues).

The Alan Wake story was a good read. Its purpose in the zine seemed inconsistent to me at first before I'd noticed the Creative tab. It's something different (like Hyper's VG character interview) as material albeit wasn't obvious what it was from the beginning.

Same deal with the news; had to read up to the 4th article to realise the sarcasm and 'non-happenings' bit in the tag line.

The cover art sort of craps it all as an opening image. Not to destroy any confidence in enlisting someone for custom cover art. The boy's face has this Picasso thing going on and a crazy deformation with his right hand. The silhouette of the Colossi in the background would be nice to see, if it weren't obscured by the horse face and masthead. Also...

And why are his eyes shut?

They aren't shut, the style of illustration makes it appear that way at a smaller resolution. At least I think that's the case.

PixelCast 32 (http://www.pixelhunt.com.au/2011/02/featured/pixelcast-32-%E2%80%93-stacks-of-pixels/) was recorded on a surprisingly stable internet connection, and the result is a panel of five (including guest Tracey Lien) coming through some pretty crisp audio. Certainly crisper than the last couple.

Also, if you'd like to be in the pool to win a PC download code for DC Universe Online, all you need do is "like" us on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Pixel-Hunt/112727995468415#!/pages/Pixel-Hunt/112727995468415).

I've also got a 1 month PS3 version time code if you already own it (I'll offer a choice between them). Oh, and it's when we reach 100 "likes" :D
