Hey guys, I really need some help and I figure this is a good place to ask.

A friend of mine gave me a video of a concert we did recently but I can't get it to work on VLC media player. It says that it does not support the video or audio format "Icod." It will play the sound but not the video. The program he used was on his Mac so that will be the problem, but I'm wondering if there is anything I can do to get the video to run on my pc.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Icod is the Apple Intermediate Codec that's used for editing in Final Cut Pro and (I think) iMovie. You shouldn't be distributing files in this format.

Ask your friend to convert the files into H264 for you.

Would you say his actions are a little bit fishy?

Sweet thanks a bunch.

Google suggests it's a fairly common problem, so I'd say it's more a case of incompetence than malice.
