holy crap, this is completely from left field. I thought marvel were over their financial troubles of the early to mid nineties. I sincerely hope that Disney doesn't try to exert creative influence over Marvel, they have been moving toward a much darker tone in the past 5 or so years and I'd hate for that to be thrown away to stuff Mickey into a wolverine storyline.
PS Manny, Akuma's capcom not Marvel :p

I don't think Disney has displayed any creative competency since the late 90's, so I'm understandably pessimistic about their ability to produce quality output.
I'm also not looking forward to the wave of sub-par saturday morning cartoons that will inevitably flood the market, nor do I feel at ease with Marvel properties being associated with the likes of MILEY CYRUS; REASON ENOUGH

Pixar completely benefited from the Disney acquisition, so why not Marvel in a similar vein?
Just because Disney, as an iconic cartoon studio hasn't seemed to release anything in years, you shouldn't discount what they've done with Pixar who have undoubtably produced brilliance.
Personally, i'm not sure what Disney can really do FOR Marvel in the long run... if it's financial backing alone then they'll be all the better for it, and if it means more comic cartoons and movies, great! But I don't think this will hurt Marvel in any way. I certainly can't see them stopping the production of Ultimate Spider-Man to focus on a Donald comic.

Lol, they might, the ultimate line has really fallen off the rails in the past few years. Good point about pixar though. I could imagine a deadpool movie animated by pixar would kick all kinds of arse.

I can't imagine that the day to day running of things will change all that much, if at all.
I also think that maybe people are forgetting how many different pies Disney have their hand in. If you think that they are only all about Mickey Mouse and Miley Cyrus you're way off base.

I was just going to say what Jawsy said. Disney is a lot more than just teacups full of puke and animated musicals. They want Marvel for its money spinning capabilities, not because they see comic books as unwholesome competition to their evil empire of family-friendly. If there are any changes to Marvel as a result of this, it will be in the ways that they do business and make money, not to the content that they produce.

A Capcom/SNK vs Disney/Marvel game would be pretty sweet though.

hmmm, Kingdom hearts 3 may be incredibly kick ass with a Marvel themed level.
After seeing that list I'm very much put at ease, I didn't realise Disney had so many assets.

I just want to punch Mickey Mouse in the face so if a game lets me be wolverine and do exactly that, then I'm all for it.

Corollary to Vin, Jawsy, Manny: Disney are willing to get behind Epic Mickey, the dystopian steampunk re-imagining of their theme park for Wii.
The only real controversy so far is Disney discussing in-house Marvel game development.

What a bunch of nonsense. If McDonalds bought Safeway, would Safeway start selling Big Macs?
If that statement makes no sense to you whatsoever, then you know how I feel when I read comments in this forum like "wolverine comics with mickey mouse".
*A marvel themed kingdom hearts level would be cool, but unlikely seeing as the other games feature characters from movies and not printed media.
Plus any deal between Disney and Square Enix for K.H. games would have nothing to do with Marvel.
But you never know what may happen in the future. I remember a time when it seemed highly unlikely we'd ever see Aliens and Predator in the same film, and when it seemed unlikely we'd never see characters from Capcom and SNK in the same game.

Well, the skull of the xenomorph made a cameo in Predator 2, and the books & comics have been around just as long or longer than that (1990), so you must be pretty damn old

And if these rides are accompanied by costumed mascots running around the park, lets hope they're not as lame as the ones they threw into the old Australia's Wonderland just before it closed down... Daredevil had a HUGE hole right in his costumed crack. Hilarious.
