A duel is a 1v1 match between people on different teams to eachother. There are no class restrictions and it is like a regular game except rewards are given for winning a duel by killing your opponent.

So I waited 5 ****ing days for Paypal to accept some money via direct debit, and then bought the Polycount Bundle (all hats & weapons) for US$49.99. I didn't mind paying in the end because I figure that TF2 only cost me $10 to begin with, and I still play all the time. I consider it an investment in my continued enjoyment of the game.

The packs aren't bad. Three of the five (Soldier, Scout & Pyro) are focused around getting health back for damage delivered, which certainly encourages a slightly more aggressive playstyle. Of the other two, the Sniper pack removes headshots from the playing equation entirely, but leaves the player a lot more vulnerable to flanking. The Spy pack adds more layers to an already deep character, with the best use of the pack made when combined with the existing unlocks (Dead Ringer/Cloak & Dagger).

Technically yes, but in 2 years I've had 2 hat drops. There are about 100 different hats now. Should I be more patient and wait a bit longer for those specific hats to drop? Due to the set bonus that the Polycount hats provide, they're quite sought after, and you might need to trade several regular hats to get one.

You use the backburner? You terrible person! Nothing beats blasting people over the edges of various maps, NOTHING.
If you spend money on the items, doesn't the money go to the independent dudes who made the items? I dunno, I haven't looked into it at all and I could be imagining shit, but yeah. I still wouldn't though.

Try changing the download region to somewhere in Europe. I changed my to England and it went up to 400kb/s.

Also new Halloween hats looks sweet..i want the frankenstein one for the heavy. There's 2 limited time hat in there as well, all pretty expensive. Melee'd kill the Headless Horsemen earlier and got some unusual metal.

This update is flippin crazy

I managed to get the Saxton Hale mask and some kid traded me two hats for it. Overall I pretty happy with a new Vintage Vintage Merrywether and a Ten Gallon Texas hat.

Named my Black Ten Gallon 'Badass Mother****er'.

Playing the same small map over and over, with people only really interested in taking the Halloween gifts.

Seemed fun yesterday but has quickly turned into a chore.

Nametags are relatively rare, I'd usually go on the steam store and check the price for the object in question to get a basis on how good or bad it is.

I can't for the life of me work out how a developer like Valve can't code decent offensive and defensive AI. I really can't. I know Offline Practice is a bit of an afterthought with an online shooter, but it really is infuriating. How many ****ing times do I need to spam 'Medic' to get heals or an uber? Why are there 3 engies setting up but no working teleporters? Why is my Medic running past me, around that corner into enemy fire? Why aren't Spies properly catered for? No, seriously, the Spy thing is ****ing maddening. Why do Pyros reflect EVERY ****ING TIME? Why do enemy Snipers only seem to deliver headshots?

Another ginormous update today: Australian Christmas

Added:

- new game mode emphasising melee weaponry (medieval-themed map to accompany)
- new polycount packs for Demo, Medic and Heavy (Engie misses out AGAIN); Demo is riot-cop themed, Medic is Knight of the Cross themed, Heavy is 1800's Western themed. Pretty sure crafting recipes have been revealed for these
- "20 new hats"
- And in a completely dick move that I naively didn't see coming, the Festive Crates have to be opened with Festive Keys (I had assumed that trading them with people would enable them to be opened - not unlike a real Xmas gift) :(

I've already got 2 of the new Engie hats: one which is meant to be a different Western hat, and another which adds xmas lights to the regular construction helmet

This update made me moist.

I got the medic's melee weapon and absolutely love being able to heal mass groups of people.
It makes me sad that I don't have a spare huntsman to craft the crossbow though :( Apart from that, the weapons on offer seem fairly good with some interesting ideas present. The lack of hats needed in the set bonuses was a nice touch.

Also I want to play Medieval mode.
