View Full Version : Are You Satisfied With Your Wii?
The question isn't "Do You Hate Your Wii", but are you satisfied with your purchase? Has the library of games been strong enough to justify your purchase? Has the lack of online play resulted in diminished usage? Can the previous-gen technology be excused at such a high price? Has the Wii been overshadowed by a superior console?
Not a Wii hate thread. These are all reasons some people may have for being dissatisfied with the console. Smutty jokes aside.

Are You Satisfied With Your Wii?
Yes.
House of the Dead Overkill, Punch Out, Wii Sports Resort, Little King's Story.
Satisfied so far.
Coming up Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles.
RE4ii gets a lot of repeat game time (only because of Mercenaries)

Barely, there isnt enough games being released which are fun for more than around 3 hours in a day. Half of the good games already released are kiddyish in terms of visuals and sound effects. Im not going to name any of those games, but you only have to look at the sh*tass library of games available to spot them.

No. I've come to realise that motion controls aren't really for me. They are nice for a change, but I don't want every game to have to require them and I'd much prefer a regular gamepad.

I'm somewhat satisfied.
I don't regret buying it, I buy Nintendo consoles for my Marios and Zeldas and whatever other gems are released. I don't play it as often as 360/PS3 but it still gets some use.
Although if I knew then what I know now I probably wouldn't have bought one at launch, I would have waited until Mario Galaxy came out instead and gotten Twilight Princess for the Gamecube.

Nope. Mine has been packed away in the cupboard for months. Super Mario Galaxy is really the only game I've loved.

I'm satisfied with my Wii, since I don't have any other next gen consoles it's all I can play games on, and generally there aren't too many good games, so I have enough money in my games budget to get them.

Yes - Own 40+ games and more to come.
Nope, I've only bought two games for it in the past two years; No More Heroes and Madworld. They're both good games mind you.
I play my PS3 a lot more, which is barely ever. The Wii has been such a huge disappointment and I don't see how anybody who's passionate about games can think otherwise.

It plays all my Gamecube games, has enough sweet titles to keep me interested between real (PC) games. Waggle shits me, yes, but I can look past it in most cases. Games that make the Wii worth buying:
-Boom Blox
-Okami
-Metroid Prime
-De Blob
And others people have mentioned (but I haven't played yet). And let's face it, even if that was the extent of it, the price is right.

Exactly. It's a nice system, and if you can't find enough games to play on it, you aren't looking hard enough.

Pretty satisfied. I haven't played anything on it since I imported Dawn of the New World, but I'll probably get The Darkside Chronicles, and homebrewing it has been the best thing ever. It's now a makeshift media center while my 360's getting repaired.

2 of those are ports of old games. $350 is a jip to play 2 good games.
luckily the wii does have some good games, just not many good real games. and that's exactly why I bought it, drunken waggling and the occasional decent srs game - and for that it's done the trick. if it were my only console I'd sell it for a 360, but having both makes it worthwhile.

Okami is a port, yes, but what's the other one?
my bad, you probably meant Metroid Prime 3.

Ahh, yeah. Plus there's other games people have mentioned but I haven't played yet. But you're right, Boom Blox is about the best drunk waggle you can get.

Have you got Bash Party Vin? Even better than the original.

I don't even know what that is.
EDIT: I do now, thanks Wiki! Hopefully it's got rid of the crappy lightgun shooting poop.

For a month or two this year, my Wii was getting more playtime than my 360. Between Little King's Story, Broken Sword Director's Cut, MadWorld, Sam and Max, Deadly Creatures and Punch-Out, I was having a great time with it. And then, I stopped playing.
I picked 'slightly' because I tend to let the releases on Wii pile up, grab them and then spend a few months playing it, before turning it off again for several months more. Of the above, only Little King's Story and Punch Out are truly fantastic (Broken Sword is awesome as well, but since it's a slightly-upgraded port of a 13 year old game so it's a little hard to discuss it as a real system seller). I'm certainly not looking to offload my Wii, and when I do use it I have a lot of fun with it, but it tends to collect dust for months at a time.
And as several others have stated, it's fantastic for local multiplayer too. There's actually a really great 'Little League' baseball game my cousin picked up that plays really well, if Wii Baseball has outstayed its welcome with you.

Sold mine a year or so ago. There's been a couple of good games come out on it since but no system-sellers as far as I'm concerned, Nintendo Australia are pretty crap and the online service is simply rude. It's a shame because I basically like the hardware but there's no fuel in this car, it's useless.

No.
At first, it was a fun gimmick... but that's all it was, a gimmick. With a severe lack of quality titles (and outdated hardware which contributed to that), it quickly became a dust collector to the point where I just sold it... and i've never sold a console.
Disappointing really.

I thought you just really just really liked the game, like Starscream said.

I'm pretty satisfied with my Wii- with games like Boom Blox, DeBlob, Mariokart Wii, Smash Brawl, Mario Galaxy, Super Paper Mario, Zak and wiki, and No More Heroes, I've got enough reasons to keep mine around for a loooong time ;D

No. It started out well enough, but after the disappointing selection of titles in the last year, terrible online setup and general "meh" quality of some of Nintendo's first party efforts of late, it just hasn't stood on its own two legs as a viable platform recently.
I'm encouraged by a handful of titles on the horizon (Muramasa, NSMB Wii, Galaxy 2, Metroid and Dead Space Extraction), the first three of which I've played and are great, but I worry that games will just come in fits and starts; I'm not confident that this will be a trend.

I'm satisfied enough with my Wii that I still play it, occasionally going back and breaking-out games from my 30-plus game collection when times are 'light'. Not everything I own is A-grade awesomeness, but that can be said about any system, really.
Stuff that really stands out for me (and I still play every now and then) is: Mario Galaxy, Twilight Princess, Smash Bros Brawl, the Raving Rabbids games (casual stuff, yes I know, but I love these ones in particular), HOTD Overkill, Broken Sword, Super Paper Mario, Boom Blox, Warioland: SD, Mario Kart Wii (even though it makes me swear like a b***h), Zack and Wiki, Madworld, No More Heroes, De Blob, Punch Out.
Then there's the NPC re-releases, Pikmin 1 & 2, DK Jungle Beat. And the ports like Rogue Trooper, Klonoa, Rockstar Table Tennis....
.....and all that's just the stuff that gets an 'every-so-often' re-play. All-in-all, I CAN find fault with the Wii and it's games library, but like I said, pick any system and you're likely to find people who'll find more to love in one than another. I play all my systems (PS3, 360, Wii, DS, PSP) somewhat equally because what I play is dictated by my mood and how long I want to play.
My Wii sits in the same category as my DS and PSP, which I'll break-out when I want a light, quick-fix and pure stupid fun gaming session.

I hocked mine for rent money I will most probably get mine out though it did cost me $400. At the moment I'm not missing it my Xbox does everything for my gaming needs.

Very true. I really just want a PS3 now, and I still run TNB because I enjoy it.
It doesn't mean I'm ecstatic to play the Wii all the time, nor do I enjoy it all the time.

No. Haven't played it in over a year. Can't see myself buying any new games except Mario Galaxy 2 and possible new Mario Bros or whatever its called. I definitely won't but the next Nintendo system at launch, if at all. Online on wii sucks.

There are some solid (excuse the pun) titles for PS3, you should get one before Uncharted 2 comes out. Sell your Wii, it's not doing anything anyway. :D

Haha I have to keep it for TNB! I will soon though, when Kingdom Hearts 3 is confirmed I'll do it.
