Back in the 16bit says there was a hell of an awesome game known as cannon fodder. Basicially you take a squad of 4 or more men into an area and try to clear the area of the enemy troops, great fun.

On other websites I have seen screenshots of a psp version of this game, which look fantastic. Beefed up 3D warzones!

Anyway these screenshots appeared in 06! With the release date marked as 07. Another site says that it will be released in 09. (Duke nukem forever anyone?) The codemasters website has no information on this game whatsoever.

Does anyone else have any information regarding release dates or cancellation?

On 28 August 2006, Codemasters announced that a brand new version of Cannon Fodder would appear exclusively on the PlayStation Portable. The game would have retained its familiar top down view, and the big heads of the soldiers, and for the first time the game would have been 3D. The game has since been canceled by Codemasters

They already did. GameBoyColor.

lol. The GBC version was pretty incredible though, given the limitations of that system. Dig out your Amigas boys. It's not getting any better than that.

i remember cannon fodder on PC.

i've heard opinions that it was in poor taste... cant see it myself, although i was quite young when i played it!

Well, it appears to be that the particular game in question is indeed cannon fodder. How ironic.

IGN still has it on their release schedule.

I'm sceptical about a remake though. Why can't they just re-release the original instead of trying their hardest to screw it up?

I'd buy it, it's an awesome game.

They should include a multiplayer option as well, then it would kick ass
