I've only had my Xbox a few weeks now but already it's getting more playtime than my PS2.

Not for fanboi reasons at all; it's just that since getting ye old brick I've got some great games as well (KOTOR II, HL2).

I don't care what anyone says I think the Xbox looks GREAT. All dusted with a good brand of auto polish and she looks really grand.

PROTIP: use auto polish on your smooth plastics. Works a treat and repels dust plus it looks the business.

So hell yeah I'm sated.

Absolutely loved my old black box. Sure, there wasn't as many great games, and less variety of games, than on PS2 and not as many of those unique titles you'd find on Gamecube, but it still had some amazing experiences.

Like you said, the KOTOR games are great RPGs, Panzer Dragoon Orta is one of the most amazing and beautiful looking games I have ever played (good thing the gameplay was brilliant too!), and of course the brutal and rewarding experience of Ninja Gaiden. Not to mention most multi-platform games played and looked better on the box.

And you didn't need to buy a crappy multi-tap for four player fun!

Never had one, but that original controller was HUGE.

I got Panzer Dragoon Orta today in actual fact. Looking forward to giving it a go after I finish with KOTOR 2.... 55 hours and counting.

I hated the original Xbox with a passion. I'm not sure if it was because I was a hardcore Nintendo fan, or because the original Xbox was needlessly huge. Probably a bit of both.

I was a Nintendo fanboy, and liked my PS2, and saw no reason for owning an XBOX. I won one in a competition, and rarely played it, whereas I played my GameCube a bit, and my PS2 to death.

Bit of a turnaround. I love my 360, never play my Wii, and don't even own a PS3! Well done, Microsoft.

Never had one, and never really saw the need for one because I had a PC. Only games I'd want on it would be Munch and Stranger, anyway.

Never had one, but 2 mates at uni did. Hated the controller.

That said the few games I've played were tops, and I've picked up a few that are BC with the 360.

I never bought an Xbox because the controller looked like a fat turd, holding fat turds is not comfortable.

Just bought a new one (well, new for me) the other day. My old one broke ages ago.

It has House of the Dead 3 with the gun, the only Xbox game with gun support, I believe...

My housemate is addicted to cappin' zombies!

I loved my old black box. Have some great memories with the KOTOR and Halo games in particular.

Bought the old XBOX when Splinter Cell came out and never looked back. Unlike most people in here I actually loved the controller. In saying that though, I do have massive hands.

I bought one wayyy late in its life when they were clearing stock, and goddamn I wish I got one earlier. Once it's all modded up and has XBMC installed, it's an awesome media center with some really sweet homebrew. Unforunately the disc drive got a bit ****ed, and you had to hit the corner when pressing the button just enough and it would pop out - and that seems to have been its downfall, as it now sits at my mates place with a dead harddrive (although I'm pretty sure it was actually a drunken mishap, but they'll never admit it).

Oh, and the Controller S was kickass, I found it more comfortable and better quality than the ds2 and gcn controller. The duke was horrendous though.

My brother had one as the games on it really catered to his tastes in particular, but it is now dead and works more appropriately as a door stop. I personally didn't like them too much, they didn't really have any personality and I wasn't a huge fan of the games on the system (that were exclusives - many good ones could be found elsewhere/on PC), even though I did play a few of them. The games I really loved were Ninja Gaiden (now on PS3) and Otogi 2 (WHICH DESERVES A PORT SOOOO GOOD!!!), but other than that nothing truly stands out.

Still, I'm glad I at least had access to one to play it, rather than miss out on it completely.

A lack of exclusives to the console itself (like it did have exclusives but they also came out on PC in a lot of cases) means my PC has made it verrrry redundant.

EDIT: I agree with Lex about the Controller S - great pad!

After 57 hours 35 minutes of KOTOR II I can say with confidence that my hands are well and truly used to the controller and I have no problems with it bar a sometimes-dodgy down arrow on the d-pad.

Other than that I don't know where the controller hate comes from... probably you girly-handed girly girls I'd say.

No, it's more that the "duke" model was a piece of trash - buttons too close together meant you kept mashing the wrong bloody button, it was ugly, uncomfortable and.... well you get the picture.

The remodoled "S" controller was far better, good button placement, comfortable to hold, but still a bit heavy compared to current gen controllers.
The only thing I disliked about the S controller was that the L and R buttons were hard to hold down for long periods of time. So if you played Forza Motorsport for a few hours your hands would potentially get really sore from holding down the shoulder buttons. The current 360 controller shoulder buttons are a bit softer and better IMO.

Hmmm, only picked up an Xbox late in it's lifespan - very cheap and really enjoyed the games I bought for it.

Highlights would have to be Halo, Halo 2, Chronicles of Riddick, Deus Ex Invisible War (meh but still good), Forza Motorsport, Panzer Dragoon.

I picked up a fair few multi-platform games on Xbox over PS2, such as Hulk: Ultimate Destruction seeing as the brick of death had slightly better performance on MOST muli-platform games.

It sure was a heavy bastard though, I walked from the mall where I purchased my boxed Xbox + halo2 + forza + 2 controllers + DVD remote, carried all the way home, walked for about an hour with the thing, then it started to rain! My face looked a bit like this at the time.....

I loved my first xbox. I now use it for emulators and on my 2nd tv for watching divx. I loved a heap of games but my 3 favorites were Shenmue2, Fahrenheit and Jet Set Radio future.

My 360 is even better. I'm a huge fan of xbox live and the software caters to my liking, sports and fps. Ive also really enjoyed Xbox Live Arcade this gen. I was always a Sega and Nintendo fanboy growing up but I'm pretty sure I will get the next xbox. Don't like to refer to myself as a Microsoft fanboy though :)
