OKAY, so that guy/soul that sits in the nexus just infront of the stone that takes you to boletaria.. is gone. There was just a glowy item thing sitting there (I think it was some shitty herb) and he hasn't returned since. Any clues as to what may have happened? I certainly didn't attack him.

Also, is there a reason for me to hang on to things like the Renowned Soldiers Souls, etc? I have shit loads of them but I've been saving them for whatever reason.

Oooh I just discovered the DS Wiki (!!!!) and see that it is very normal for the Crestfallen Warrior to disappear.. aww :(

Ugh, Adjudicator is probably the most difficult boss fight so far, the Penetrator in 1-3 was amusingly easy.

??? Adjudicator is simple, especially if you're using magic. One of the easiest bosses in the game.

As for renowned hero's soul etc... No particular need to save them, but I always do incase I'm in the Nexus and need a couple of souls for some reason.

What version of the game you playing?

It's already been asked in this thread, but I'm asking anyway.

Is there is any joy/misery to be had from playing this game in single player offline?

Thinking of getting it...............but online is still not an option.

There is both joy and misery to be had from playing offline. Game is much more difficult, and your missing some of the best aspects. Adversely you may find solace in the world as you will feel completely alone.

So my North American version's servers are going offline soon so I've decided to get as far through this as possible before then, as I really enjoy it online. I've only done 1-1 and 1-2 (which was surprisingly easy, bar those dogs which took a few tries to learn to beat with a halberd) and I'm on 2-1 now (the level is easy but has little opportunity for farming souls - those fire guys are bitches though) and the spider raped me oh so quickly. Well, quickly enough that I only managed to knock down half its health. I'm going to dive in for another try as soon as I gain another level (the red knight in 1-1 gives 2k souls!).

I really recommend finishing the game while you can. I really hope it gets remade someday, it's a little sad that people will never be able to properly complete the game after the servers go down.
