There was some quality Randy Marsh moments in some of those WOW ep, Guitar Queer-o for example. Read about the latest ep, I was wondering how or if they would mention Michael Jackson...

I liked Season 12 (just purchased it for cheap on bluray), certainly not the best season with a couple of duds but I'm finding the latest seasons more enjoyable than the older series below S8. May get S13 but I really wish they'd put better extras on the DVDs with full length commentaries :(

The cop was the lowlight of the former, and the latter was cool in that it drew an obvious connection between wrestling and theatre/drama

Found out that 'Whale Wars' show is actually a real program afterter watching South Park. Shame the eps tend to be related to stuff that isn't shown here (or perhaps it is but I haven't seen it aside from Deadliest Catch) otherwise I would've laughed more. This trailer is actually a pretty accurate rendition of South Park's take :D

Nah, The F Word has it beaten for sheer relevance, imo.
I think there are many of us who use the word 'fag' to describe inconsiderate assholes, and not in reference to homosexuals.

Received the South Park 12th season on bluray yesterday ($35), surprisingly there's a lot more detail than you'd think and there's none of that annoying fuzziness you'd get on DVDs. The only 'problem' I can see is that its been converted into 16:9 from 4:3 so shots of houses look a bit weird since the top of houses is always cut off. Think I'd rather have the 16:9 anyway, the 5.1 sound mix is nicely done too with a lot of added effects that would normally not be heard
Lol, the internet episode is probably one of my favs because its probably an accurate rendition of what would happen :p

That said, I loved seeing Mitch Conner back in action.

Anybody see the new episode? Bit weird for me, I get the characters how its portraying Looney Tunes with the 2 mafia guys, 1 small boss & 1 giant yet stupid henchman but I wasn't too sure what else it was portraying with all those facts every few seconds - maybe it was their own idea. Episode was okay but once again no laughs from me, Season 14 is the weakest in quite a while

South Park creators done goofed up (http://www.news.com.au/technology/matt-stone-trey-parker-apologise-to-collegehumour-for-lifting-insheeption-jokes/story-e6frfro0-1225943310435)
SOUTH Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker have learnt the hard way how not to trust the internet for research.
An episode shown in the US last week titled Insheeption, the pair took a swipe at one of this year's biggest box office hits, Inception.
The only problem was, Stone and Parker hadn't seen it.
They said they couldn't find a movie theatre showing Inception, nor could they rent it on DVD, but knew enough about it that they thought it was prime South Park material.
The answer - trawl the web for quotes.
“It’s just because we do the show in six days, and we’re stupid and we just threw it together,” Stone told the New York Times.
“But in the end, there are some lines that we had to call and apologise for.”
The line in question belonged to CollegeHumour, which posted a video online in August called Inception Characters Don't Understand Inception.
The reason Stone and Parker got caught using it was because it doesn't actually feature in Inception.
The line, "Sometimes my thoughts of my dead wife manifest themselves as trains," was originally penned by CollegeHumour writers Dan Gurewitch and David Young.
Soon after, Mr Gurewitch posted his concerns on his blog.
"Well, this is odd," he wrote.
"It looks as if South Park essentially plagiarized Inception Characters Don’t Understand Inception, a sketch written by me and David Young a few months ago.
"...Even the fact that it’s based on the same scene in the movie, I could ignore. But our sketch is lifted almost line by line."
When questioned about it, Stone told the New York Times that he thought the point of the CollegeHumour spoof was that original Inception lines were so ludicrous they could be made into a comedy skit.
"That was a mistake, and it was an honest mistake,” he said.
That's really pathetic. Lost a lot of respect for them.
They'll be crushed.
But yeah it's a bit poor. Probably more the result of the tight deadlines and the fact that they've been producing the show for 14 years.

Makes me wonder why they make a new episode every week and not (what I assume) what every other show does and make all the episodes during the time they aren't broadcasting.
What are they even doing during the 7 or 8 months that South Park isn't airing then?

Cicada
27-10-2010, 01:15 PM
Thought they did an alright job of parodying the film without having seen it. Apparently they've spoken to the College humour guys and smoothed things over. The only way of reading this that makes any sense is the official line that they thought the College humour skit was using the lines from the film verbatim: surely they wouldn't think they could get away with plagiarism.
Not really a fan of the Coon. A fairly average episode once the initial joke of the name is done it becomes grating in my opinion. Maybe they'll give it some more depth second time around. I do like seeing Butters as Professor Chaos though.

The idea is that that way they can make episodes that focus on current events, of course if they then parody movies that aren't even showing in theaters anymore they've kinda missed the point.
