The Pursuit is a 'new series' from Channel 9 which seems to be nothing, but a massive ad for Nintendo. Sunday at 4.30pm in case you're curious.
The contestants compete in a series of challenges racing around Melbourne in a race to be first using their DSi as a guide.
Contestants also have to compete in challenges featuring Mario Kart and the like.
It even features ads for other Nintendo products during the break!
There was a time when I would have enjoyed the dodginess of something like this but now it just seems like a bit of a low for Ol' Ninty.
More money than they know what to do with?

Sounds like that show Amazing .. that was basically a Nintendo ad back in the day.

This was horrible. It was like The Amazing Race without the 'Amazing' bit.
Actually that's an insult. It wasn't like The Amazing Race at all. It was just shit. Their reward for winning was playing Wii outside on a big screen, for goodness sake.

Well they won $25k was well.
It's just advertising the Wii was worth more. >_>

No they go to the final for a chance to win $25,000. They got jack, except free Wii time with a VC title.

Holy hell I stumbled across the show this afternoon. My father's annual easter egg hunts were better planned, presented and executed than this.
Edit: I'm also taking into account the time that Pa hid some of the best eggs under the couch cushion and then fell asleep on said couch.

Amazing was epic, don't even attempt to compare these programs.
The only advertising for Nintendo was the fact you could win a gameboy.... and that time Nintendo was the answer to a question and they had to stamp NINTENDO out on that giant keyboard.
So many fond memories of watching that program and then building our own maze and key hunts around the house! :p

And how for one round they had to play Nintendo games.

Nah mate you're thinking of the other program, Timezone or the like, they had to run and leap onto bikes and playing a racing game?
Amazing didn't have a computer game round.

From Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A*mazing)
In the third round the contestants competed in a video game face off. During the course of the show, two different gaming platforms were used. Originally the Super Nintendo and later the Nintendo 64.
Games played include Tetris, Bubsy, Donkey Kong Country, Donkey Kong Country 2, Super Mario Brothers 3, Nigel Mansell's World Championship, Plok, 1080° Snowboarding, Donkey Kong Country 3, Wave Race 64, Super Mario Kart, Mario Kart 64, San Francisco Rush, Multi-Racing Championship, Cruis'n USA, Diddy Kong Racing and the fly-swatting minigame from Mario Paint.
The team with the most points/fastest time win 50 points for their team, while runners-up in this challenge win 25 points for their team. Should there be a tie (e.g. score the same number of coins in Super Mario Kart or hit the same number of flies in the fly-swatting minigame from Mario Paint), both teams score 25 points each. Originally 100 points were awarded to the winners and 50 points to the runners-up.
This segment has been noted as the first Televised eSports event worldwide.

Hey! They totally played Winter Gold on the SNES a few times too.
They also had Nintendo games playing on the screens behind them during the Quiz part.

Amazing definitely had a video game round. I can remember watching once when they were playing Donkey Kong Country and the guy used DK. He was slamming the ground to find bananas. I never knew you could do that so it totally changed my life!

Only reason I watched it as well, and then they had the N64 and it was like OMG ... soooo awesome. It was crap that the only used racing games when they introduced the N64, most likely because Super Mario 64 couldn't exactly work for "who gets the highest score" like the old 2D platform challenges.
lol late reply :p
Just reading the last page of posts, I can confirm AMAZING 100% had a computer challenge round.

lol, I remember AMAZING... I was such a fanboy back then. I decided the show wasn't as good when they stopped advertising Nintendo products. :)
