People will likely remember the radio competition in the US which went horribly wrong when the second-place contestant DIED following warnings to the station that what they were asking people to do COULD BE FATAL.
Well, the end of that tale is that 10 people were fired from the station and her surviving family were awarded US$16 mil. (http://www.kotaku.com.au/2009/10/jury-awards-16-million-in-fatal-win-a-wii-stunt/#more-364151)

No, as she didn't win the competition, that would be nonsensical.
She didn't really win anything

Disclaimer Form: Please be aware that drinking massive amonts of water without urinating can be harmful, even fatal. We accept no responsibility if you are harmed or killed while "holding your wee for a Wii".
How many people are gonna enter after reading that (or something along those lines), you prat?

I think she and her family should have accepted responsibility as well. You have to be an idiot not to realize that drinking a shitload of water will drown your insides.

Are we sure she just didn't just commit suicide for competing in and losing such a stupid contest?

one wii $200 or a lawsuit of $16,000,000, thats what disclaimers are for so you are the prat bud, ever been sky diving or even paintballing? if so they make you sign a disclaimer waivering all damage liability and they still have people jumping & playing everyday, so you point is...

You have to be an idiot not to realize that drinking a shitload of water will drown your insides.I remember watching a reality show, and they told one of the contestants to get in this spherical enclosure thing, sealed of course, after which he would be sent over the edge of an enormous waterfall. Because the show had it all prepared, he went along with it no questions asked, to the point that the show had to stop and tell him that, he, we're setting you up here to see if you're stupid enough to go along with an obviously suicidal plan.
I think it was The Apprentice. He was fired for the mistake of blind trust.

That reminds me of that experiment designed to explain why nazis (being ordinary, everyday citizens) could be so cruel and torturous. Regular people were set up with actors and stuff, and were happy to give out fatal electric shocks so long as the man behind the clipboard gave the thumbs up.
Besides which, that's not blind trust, he had a very good reason for trusting that a reality show wouldn't risk millions of dollars in lawsuits.
