Gday all, i just recently got my PS2 out of the dust ridden cupboard and booted it up.
Now i wanted to ask this question because im wondering if anyone has the RARE hardware called the "PS network adaptor", i loaded it up and hopped onto the 3 games i have that can access online
SOCOM Part 1
Metal Of Honour Rising Sun (part 1)
Hardware (a free deathmatch game that came with the adaptor)
Man the GFX are so dated but it was a blast to hop back on just like good old days.
Im wondering if anyone has the network adaptor and if they still use it.
I want to play a game of Hardware which is lots of fun.
On a side note, to setup the network adaptor isnt too hard but it does let you log into the playstation network, well it used to, the network used to be called "Central Station" and it seems that sony have taken it down so i dont even know if the network adaptors will work when purchased from brand new (un used previously), if it has been used before then it will still work.

Dont need to worry about dusting off the old PS2 as the PS3 at home is the old Phat backwards compatible model and i still play PS2 games regularly :) I even play PSone games on the PS3.

I bought the network adapter, and have Hardware. It was the first console game I played online. It wasn't actually that bad.
I don't have it set up anymore, however.

I bought a slimline when my ye olde model snuffed it, and the online setup disc was actually an extremely old demo disc of games that, honestly, probably pre-dated the Dual Shock. :/ I called Sony Australia and they said they'd send me out the right disc. Never came, called them again, still never came. CBF after that.

The PS2 I bought when it first came out still works, too bad all the wires and controlers are stuffed.
BWT I saw a copy of Z.O.E 2 at my local GameTraders, If I had a fully setup PS2 I would so buy it right now.

Still have to play Odin Sphere, finish off God Hand and play through Tenchu. I gave up halfway through Drakengard because it got too boring. I only bought a PS2 a year or two ago, though - just to play through a few select classics (Ico, SotC, GoW 1 and 2 and Odin Sphere).

Have a slim PS2 on a 20 inch CRT in the garage. Currently swapping between Deus Ex and Demon Stone.
Demon Stone is very very pretty however and I'm tempted to move it into the lounge where the 42 inch LCD is.

Yes, I actually have the game. I did own the original retail version, then Sony kindly sent me an 'updated' version.
I played a very lonely game of Midnight Club 2 a few months ago on the playstation network.

The PS2 version of Deus Ex doesn't do that game justice, the frame rate is horrible. Hopefully the best thing to come out of Deus Ex 3 is that we might get a re-release on the PSN or XBLA.

This.
I still need to finish Shadow of the Colossus
Play it non-stop some weekend, you'll be glad you did. I've finished it many times and I keep thinking about playing it again all the damn time.
Or at least pick it up when it's re-released on PS3 along with ICO, it would be a crime not to.

It so annoying, i have SoTC and it's an excellent game but my copy has the ending screen scratched out it seems and it freezes up on it (bought it off a rental store cheap) i defeated the final colossi but never saw the ending. :(

I'm replaying Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater again.
It's been about four years since I played it last and its still an absolute joy.
There's something so satisfying about hiding in long grass armed with your trusty hunting knife, popping up for a brief moment, grabbing a guard, slitting his throat and dropping back into the shrubs before anyone notices.
Also Big Boss is da man.

Yeah it's a classic game, think i completed it twice. Once on the normal edition and once on subsistence. Stupid me sold me copy of MGS3 and Subsistence when i was going through a weed smoking time in my life :(

Hardware online arena... haha that brings back some memories. Used to play that so much. Was probably the only online game I played. Reckon people would still play online on PS2?

Hitman 2 would be pretty awful by today's standard, play Blood Money instead it's much better.

I've got Ico, SotC, and Okami all sitting in my games cabinet waiting to be cracked open. I bought them before my first kid was born, almost four years ago, and have never got around to playing them. Looking forward to getting stuck into them real soon though.
Same story with God Hand. I bought that quite a while back, loved it immediately, couldn't beat the first boss, and haven't touched it since. It'll get its day in the sun one day.
I quite regularly put on one of my various Guitar Heros or retro compilations when I've got time for a quick games session.

Trust me man, play Okami when you can it's really awesome, you will probably fall in love with the graphical style.
I'm like that to i have a pile of games, i'm halfway through.
Sometimes it's hard to find as much gaming time as you would like, i have a daughter who's 4 months, very time consuming on top of other things.:p

Playing through the first Shadow Hearts right now. I've played both Covenant & From The New World so I'm going backwards here. Oh how I wish they're still making new games for this series. The simple concept of the judgement ring makes the mundane turnbased combat into one of the best battle systems in JRPG history (Grandia is still the best imho), and Covenant has one of my favourite casts in all gaming.

I always wanted to play the Shadow Hearts series, i saw a copy of the FTNW once but it was abit overpriced i thought.
I'm playing Dragon Quest VIII, pretty much nearing the end of the game now. Such a charming rpg :p

I actually ended up winning a copy of Dragon Quest VIII on ebay for $2 about a month ago. Best bargain ever.

SH Covenant is the best one in the series, I guarantee that you'll enjoy it if you manage to play it! It's easier to find FTNW nowadays though, which itself is very decent.

And for less than 8 Pounds it's more than worth it!
I still have yet to play DQVIII, and I've had it since it first came out too :( It's on my to-do list though!
I'm more likely to hook up my dreamcast than to pull out the ps2. Guitar Hero would probably be my only reason to bother nowadays :/

My PS2 died shortly before I moved out, leaving me with a heap of PS1 and PS2 games I couldn't play.
So I did the emulator thing on my computer, and now I can stick Crash Team Racing into my computer and it plays like a Playstation. Long story short, yeah I still play PS1 and soon to be PS2.

Just get the PS3 re-release team up with SOTC and ICO. I think it will be a budget release, but don't quote me on it.

Playing through Burnout 3: Takedown at the moment. Bought the game in 05, and was only at 49% or thereabouts two weeks ago. Got it up to 68% since. Fun game, and still looks great too. Really challenging at times.

I've very slowly been working my way through a lot of the shin megami tensei games. While I have a lot of unfinished JRPGs on the system those are the only ones I really play now.
