Just wondering what the consensus is on some match making sub sections inside Xbox, Nintendo and Sony areas?

Rather than having dedicated matching threads mixed in with other gaming related threads, we could have a section dedicated to matchmaking.

Please vote!

It's a Russian bride ordering system that automatically matchmakes tailored to postcount.

For obvious reasons.

I've always found that splitting things into sub-forums only has the effect of making a forum look deader than it actually is. If the forums were so over-busy with confusion then there'd be an argument for this, but there isn't even a second page of active threads at any given time in any of the console forums so online match subs are just pointless and more likely to be missed by people who'd otherwise like to join in a game.

You're not getting your Online Match Making Section, now go to bed!

Hmm... this shit tastes awfully like 'online gaming with friends' and 'all the free porn you could ever want'... with a hint of 'YouTube not taking 20mins to load a 5min video'. Which is to say, delicious.

YEAH BUT YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO DISCUSS ANY OF THAT IN SPECIALISED SUB-FORUMS

They're a great idea, but they just don't seem to work out.

Didn't we already try this and it didn't work?

I think the FIFA 10 thread shows how easy it is to work matchmaking into the conversation.

I am hearing that a fair bit. But wondering if we should try it and see how it goes. We'll see how the poll goes and make a decision based on that. Even if we go ahead with it and it turns out to epic fail we can always revert to how it is now.

I just think it might be easier to have a dedicated section for online match making.

I think a better option would be PCPP style, just have a separate online games section and make sure the format is in the title of each thread.

I'd love this, but it didn't work last time. Implement the section in a different manner (ie; not a subforum, but a section in itself? etc)

Those last two posts sounds really promising actually. We'll see how the vote goes and make a decision from there?

But wondering if we should try it and see how it goes.

That would make sense if we hadn't already 'tried it and see how it goes'. Unless you're specifically proposing a different format/approach than last time.

Well he mentioned that the two above posts (ash's and mine) were really promising, so you could assume yes, there will be a different format.

I didn't even notice the subforum last time, but I think it's a fairly good idea anyway, if it works, might bring the community a bit closer together (nawwwww!) and/or active.

You're right. I guess we have to discuss it in all the threads/forums Aran visits, thereby rubbing it in.
