Well? I will give up my own view in a bit, I just want to see some other perspectives.

4 and 5 minutes is not adequate consideration. Get considerating.

He's got some pretty good songs, mainly on Illinois. And now that he's admitted that the whole 50 States thing was "such a joke" (http://pitchfork.com/news/37026-sufjan-stevens-calls-the-50-states-album-project-such-a-joke/), he comes off in a less ridiculous light.

It's cool to think of him as a dreamy, ridiculous sort of character though isnt it.

I think The Transfiguration may well be my favourite song ever. Now that's a really big call, and shouldnt be made lightly, but it's true.

It does kind of fit to some of his song titles, yeah.
The Black Hawk War, or, How to Demolish an Entire Civilization and Still Feel Good About Yourself in the Morning, or, We Apologize for the Inconvenience but You're Going to Have to Leave Now, or, 'I Have Fought the Big Knives and Will Continue to Fight Them Until They Are Off Our Lands!', anyone?

Also I think he will be one of the few artists from this generation who will still be listened to in, like, three decades. Most of the rest will be relegated some sort of futuristic Gold Classic Hits 101.4 sort of territory.
