Hopefully some fans of game will re-call the following little problem and let me know ...

Would you believe in 15 years of playing the game iv never attempted to play through it, thus never needing to use a password, till now.

Well I am having trouble with it. There is one character which I cant make out what it is. It looks like an M to but apparently not.

Im certain this will ring a bell with someone who still plays the game I would not be the only one to have this problem.

Obviously have checked all of the characters when trying to put in the password and there is nothing which looks like it.

Remaining hopeful

I'm guessing that you have a password and have copied it down wrong.

In previous times when I have experienced a similar problem, I entered every letter of the alphabet in the mystery character.

Start with the obvious letters n w h

Are you trying to access secret playable characters? Or just play the career mode?

First thing is check that you have the right passwords for your console, I've played NBA Jam and NBA Jam TE on SNES, Arcade, Megadrive and 32X - and some passwords (secret characters) are the same to do, others are different.

The second thing I'm thinking of (and this was the SEGA versions, don't know about SNES) but pretty sure when accessing secret characters you had to not only enter the three letters, but press and hold down the start button, at the begining or the end, or the whole time? I forget, and depending on what console it may do the wrong thing.

Ah....

An example from this page:

-Al Gore Put in "NE" and highlight "T". Hold the L and R buttons down and hit A.

And this FAQ

http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/snes/file/nba_jam_passwords.txt

Has specific career passwords etc for the SNES.

For gods sake go "save as" and save the TXT file to keep on hand, then you don't have to go back to the site again for the same information.
