Originally on the SNES it is being remade for the DS. One of the biggest changes to it would have to be the battle system which will be more action based then turn based.

this should be interesting. The 2 Lufia games on snes are a couple of my favourite JRPGs ever.

omg...just took a look at the article and man are they going all out with the remake. Since it's a remake of the second I hope they make a remake of the first as well. Or reimagining (which seem to be the term being thrown around with this make).

Oh shit, Rise of the Sinistrals is one of the best (actual best) RPG's ever, not just on SNES. When a release date is announced, i'll have to buy a new DS.

Lufia 2 is the game that is singularly responsible for my opinions of Japanese "RPGs". I was playing it around the same time as I was playing Baldur's Gate II and I couldn't account for the difference.

Japanese release date is 25/2/2010. Can only hope that an English release isn't too far behind.

So really old topic. But flying under the radar, this game (Lufia: Curse of the Sinistrals) is getting released next month in the US.

I was excited, until they decided to change the artwork from a hybrid of Studio Ghibli and Tolkienesque style to a Metro, Death Note character style.

Got my copy in the mail yesterday...it's decent...not great but not bad either.

My copies on its way. I heard they streamlined the story and took out capsule monsters, which was disappointing to hear.

Yeah capsule monsters are gone which makes me sad. they have some new stats board system in which I'm still trying to work out.

basic starting scene of the game though is Gades yelling to the world that he'll destroy it and Maxim and the other main characters going "sif". That's a very watered down version.
