Does the new inventory system bother anyone as much as it bothers me? I actually liked fitting everything in RE4.

That was enjoyable. I guess the tradeoff is that it'll be possible to own and upgrade every gun which will be appreciated.

I'm disappointed that they excluded combinable treasure, as it had a nice tradeoff between upgrading that gun now or holding out to improve the treasure's value and gain more in the long run.

It's the little details that have held RE5 back from overtaking RE4 in my esteem, which is a shame as it still is a brill game. Hopefully co-op will prove to be an adequate substitute for these niggles. Hit me up for a game on 360, anyone.

Still, great fun. I like punching some guy over then watching Sweating Bullets run in and slash him on the ground, just to make sure he's dead.

I swear I didn't see a QTE. Sheva said Chris and then next thing I knew my head was lobbed off!

Probably, depending on how much you liked RE4. Co-op made me purchase it, however, and playing with a human is heaps more enjoyable.

I think the very first level and Experimental Facility are my two favourite Mercenaries maps at the moment, easy enough to get a quick line through all the time bonuses so it's just 6-7 minutes straight of blowing shit up.

Although I really need some pointers on how to use machine guns better, because I can't seem to get any good scores with characters that use them.

finished this last night. I was having a pretty damn good time up until chapter 5, what the **** happened? it's like they finished chapter 4, thought "shit, this needs more game" and tacked on a warehouse and a boat full of shipping containers, freakin lame. not to mention zombies with guns is just stupid, maybe flailing an AK around, but not a freakin sniper, that's not what zombies do. although I must say that giant tentacle-y thing on the boat was goddamn amazing.

Yeah the zombies with guns thing is not an idea I enjoy. Prior to beginning the chapter where they appeared I found myself sitting on the toilet thinking, "If these guys aren't essentially zombies and they can think and stuff, why aren't they coming at me with guns?" Shortly after this thought my brain slapped me in the face with a bout of common sense, "Don't be silly, that would ruin the game! Plus Wesker hardly has the time to be outfitting these guys with guns between bangin hot bitches and doing another Matrix Trilogy marathon." I nodded in agreement, little did I know that the most horrifying aspect of chapter 5 and 6 wouldn't be in the game.... it would be the game itself.

In that menu just before you start the game, set "Partner Reaction" to on. You wouldn't believe how satisfying it is. ;)

Except, you know, until the AI then accidentally shoots you in the head with a magnum, while you're on Professional difficulty...

I was really excited about this game after playing the demo, i bourght it the day after it came out. However I was rather dissapointed by it. I had never played a resident evil game before so for me it was a completely new experiance and was intense in the demo when your inside that house and the zombies start attacking, but i found that it becomes far less awesome over time and became repetitive. Sure it has its rad moments, but I don't see a lasting appeal. I haven't yet finished it, and have no real plan to in the near future, but I'm sure that one day, when I have nothing better to do I will finish it.

I'll safely say the port to PC for RE5 is pretty damn perfect. The controls work like any PC shooter would, unlike RE4's PC port which forced you to use gamepad-style aiming... with a keyboard.

So I downloaded Lost in Nightmares the other night.

I thought it was far better paced than RE 5 with a much slower, brooding atmosphere and actual puzzles. I liked when you opened doors and it switched to a first-person view as an homage to the older games in the series.

I also like that it gave you the opportunity to play as Barry in the Mercenaries mode.

But your AI partner still won't use grenades and is an all-round dumbass, which made the final boss of the sequence much harder than it had to be.

So was the xbox getting the gold edition of this game with all the dlc included, or was that PS3 only?

EDIT:

This means that by buying all four DLC, players will then already own all of the content on the disc. However, this only directly applies to the PS3 version, due to the fact that the Xbox 360 version will not contain all DLC content from the start. The Xbox 360's disc will instead come with a download token, allowing for a free download of all of the DLC while the PS3 version already has all new content from purchase.

Oh well then, might as well start the downloading!
