This would probably be better suited to the tech forum but I'm posting it here to get some entries going for these forums.

I heard about this on byteside tech a few eps back and just go around to checking it out. It's basically wikipedia for the page you're currently viewing.

COULD THE HYPERACTIVE FORUMS HAVE A WIKI NOT EDITED BY MORONS?!

Probably not. It's really more like website graffiti I guess.

You'll have to install google toolbar, just turn off everything except the side wiki.

I have no idea if it has any type of moderation, but I guess we'll find out now that I've told you, Hyperactive Trolls.

Pretty sure similar systems have popped up before - the (ill-fated?) Wikimedia search engine, various Firefox plugins, etc. Google's one may take off on the wings of Google's promotional clout, though.

I also have reservations about this thing, but I'll leave it be for now.

Yeah, I remember posting a thread about a similar firefox plugin about 5 years ago.

Really websites should have the option of disabling the use of it on their sites.

I don't like this, my browser is all cluttered with a heap of new buttons and my bookmarks toolbar is now blank.

Turn off every button that's not the sidewiki and then drag it beside your forward/back button.
